Next morning, I was woken by the sound of Kovu’s paws upon the door, asking me to let him out. My phone was filled with texts asking me about Tim. I couldn’t help but roll my eyes. I stood up and opened the door to Kovu and went to the bathroom to get ready for breakfast with Lily. I decided to go very simple, with a button up, some jeans and pale oxfords. After I was done, I got out of my room, and left some food and water for Kovu and went on my way to Starbucks. It was around 10 o'clock when I got there, surprisingly, Lily was already there waiting and had also ordered for me.

‘Hey.’ she said as she signaled me to sit down
‘How long have you been here, Lils?’ I asked as I sat down on the tiny couch at one of the tables at the back
‘Not long, like 5 minutes, tops. By the way, sorry I left home without saying anything or so, Jaden came for a surprise visit last night so I went out for late dinner with him and I stayed at his hotel for the night.’ she explained
‘That's fine, don't worry.’ I said before she stood up to get the breakfast she had previously ordered.

We spent the rest of the morning eating breakfast and talking about what we had done last night. Lily interrogated me about what she called a "date" with Tim. To me it was just dinner with a friend, because that's what we were, right? Anyways, we finished breakfast and I told Lily, Tim had invited me to the game; of course, she encouraged me to go. We got inside my car and started driving towards our beautiful apartment. We were two blocks away from the building when Tim called me.

‘Hello Ace. I thought you were going to text me the details.’ I said as soon as I answered his call
‘Hey Isa. Yeah, I'm sorry, I swear I was gonna text you, but I fell asleep when I got home, I'm really sorry.’ he explained, I just laughed
‘That's fine, don't worry. Anyways what's the plan?’ I asked him, as I glanced over to Lily, who was making hearts with her hands, á la Justin Bieber style.
‘Well I'm going to get dressed, and I was thinking I could pick you up and then head to the ballpark.’ he told me
‘Yes, that's perfect.’ I said as I drove into the Infinity's parking garage
‘Ok, I'll see you in around 40 minutes.’
‘Kay, bye.’ I said before hanging up and stopping the car's engine. I looked at Lily whose stare was burning my cheeks. ‘What?’ I asked
‘Someone's got a date.’ she said shoving my shoulder lightly. I just smiled and got out of the car. We walked towards our building and into the elevator, I pressed our floor and rested myself back at the handrail, smiling at the floor. Lily was about to say something, but she was interrupted by the elevator announcing we were on our floor. We opened the door and got in; I went straight to the living, whereas Lily went to her room to shower and probably get ready for another date with Jaden. I started switching channels until I found Criminal Minds playing, I love that show. The episode was ending when the apartment phone buzzed.

‘Hello?’ I answered
‘Hi Is, it's J. There's a gentleman down here asking for you, Tim Lincecum, I believe is his name.’ she said sarcastically and giggling. Of course she knew who the “gentleman” was. I just laughed
‘Tell him I'll be right down. Thanks J.’ I said before hanging up. ‘I'm leaving Lil.’ I screamed as I grabbed my keys and made my way downstairs.

Once at the lobby I was greeted by Jessica, who signaled me to a couch where Tim was seated. I walked over and touched his shoulder

‘Hello there.’ I said, making him turn around and stand up
‘Hey, are you ready?’ he asked me, he was wearing some work out clothes, which made me feel a little over dressed
‘Yep, let's go.’ he nodded and we went to his car, which was parked outside the building. We talked about baseball and his life mostly, while on our way to the park. He told me everything, from rejecting the Cubs offer to his current struggles as a starter. When we got to the ballpark, we entered the park through the field. I was holding one of Tim's dogs, Kayo, while he held Cy. He got into the dugout and told me to wait for him outside, just in case there was someone naked inside. He told me everyone inside was presentable so I came in. Every single player was there. Javi, Angel, Hunter, Brandon Belt and Brandon Crawford, Buster, everyone; the only one I didn't see was Wilson. But before I could ask for him, he jumped in front of where Tim and I were walking.

‘And we meet again, Fairchild.’ he said
‘I guess we do, Patrick.’ I smiled, he shook his head and leaned towards me
‘Are you dating Timothy?’ he whispered. To be honest, I didn't know what to answer. I mean, I was absolutely not sure if the dinner we had had last night was a date, or if this was a date; so I just decided to half smile, nod my head at Brian and just kept on walking towards the other players, well towards Zito, who was the only other player I knew.
‘Hello Barry!’ I said poking him on his back making him jump a tiny bit
‘Isabella!’ he said surprised ‘What brings you here?’ and before I could answer Tim barged in
‘I did.’ Tim said. Barry looked at us surprised
‘So are you guys like a couple now?’ he asked us. I knew I was going to get that question a lot today and I had to prepare an answer for it; but until then, I was just going to let Tim answer it for now. I guess he was in the same place as I was, because he shot a dirty look to Barry, who responded laughing. ‘Well, I don't want to make you uncomfortable kids, so I'm just going to leave right now.’ he said laughing and shaking his head as he stood up and headed to the field. You could feel the awkwardness between us and before we could say anything, Bochy called out his starting pitchers and his closers.
‘Hey, I have to leave right now, but I'll be right back, not more than 15 minutes, okay?’ he told me
‘I'm a big girl, I can take care of myself, don't worry.’ I told him and he went on his way to the field.

Well this was going to be awkward, because the only players I knew were the ones that Bochy had called out. So I headed to one of the empty couches in the locker room and as I took my phone out, not more than 20 seconds after plopping myself down on the couch, I felt a presence besides me.

‘Hello.’ the person sitting besides me said and I turned around to see Jeremy Affeldt sitting besides me ‘I'm Jeremy...’
‘Affeldt, I know.’ I interrupted ‘Hi, my name's Isabella Fairchild.’ I said as he looked at me stunned
‘Well I'm guessing you're a fan of the team. Because if you're not and you know who I am, that's just going to be a little creepy, you know.’ he said, causing me to laugh
‘Well, thankfully for both of us, I do happen to be a Giants fan, so no, not a creep.’ I answered still laughing.

After that little introduction, our conversation went on and on. He asked me about myself, how I had ended in San Francisco and how I had met Tim. I had only known him for a few minutes, but I felt really comfortable telling him exactly how I felt. That I didn't know where Tim and I stood, if we were dating or if we were just friends going out. That I was confused; that I didn't know exactly how I felt for him, if I liked him, if I didn't or if I was just denying my feelings because I had just broken up an engagement. Jeremy was a really good listener and advice giver, he told me to first, get my feelings straight, and then to be up front with Tim and ask him all the doubts that were lingering in my head. We continued talking but eventually changed the topic to him. He was telling me about a book he was writing when Bochy and Dave Righetti came back with the players. Tim approached us and Jeremy stood up to leave

‘Well, that's my cue to leave.’ he said pointing at Tim ‘I had a really nice time talking to you kid, hopefully I'll see you more often.’ he said as I stood up to give him a hug
‘I would definitely love that.’ I said and Jeremy went to his locker
