Secret Memories

Blaine watch as Kelsey laughed, barely noticing Justin and Vivian leaving. Blaine couldn't help but smile around Kelsey, her laugh was contagious. Blaine was so sure he was falling in love with this girl.

Then it hit him, if he was going to have her fall in love with him he'd have to be honest with her.

Blaine had to talk about something he hadn't talk about with anyone other than Justin.

Kelsey had since gotten up and was messing around in the kitchen. "We need to talk about something,” Blaine voiced awkwardly.

Kelsey looked up. "Sorry?" she asked confused.

Blaine looked at her and smiled "Oh, umm nothing. Never mind." Blaine walked to the kitchen noticing
Vivian's binder and the large stack of papers "What's all this?" Blaine opened the binder. "This is Viv's?"

Kelsey smiled at him, "It's her way of becoming ‘mature’."

Blaine rolled his eyes, "Let's get out of here. Justin and Vivian won't be back for a while anyways."

Kelsey loved the idea of going somewhere with him. "Hold on, I need to get something out of our room."

Blaine followed her. Walking in the room, he noticed one side was spotless and one side was messy.
On the messy side there were posters and pictures of Vivian, Kelsey, some of their friends from high school and one other person.

"Who's that?" Blaine asked in wonderment.

Without so much as turning, Kelsey replied."Oh, that's Kari Jobe. Vivian's favorite singer."

He began looking around the room, eyeing a large stack of CD's. "Kari Jobe, Kari Jobe, Kari Jobe. I take it these are all Vivian's."

Kelsey ran over to him, "Oh no! Did you get the out of order?!? Viv's going to freak!" They hurried to get them back in order as if Vivian could walk in at any moment. Blaine looked back at the other wall.
He noticed plane tickets, pictures of Vivian and Kelsey, movie tickets, invitations, and postcards from almost every state with a picture of Vivian and Kelsey at the state line. "What is all this?" Blaine asked.

Kelsey turned to him "Oh that's Vivian's scrapbook wall."

Blaine looked confused, "Scrapbook wall?"

Kelsey laughed, "Don't judged her, its special."

On her way out the door she wrote Vivian a note, instructions on what to do Monday morning just in case she wasn't home, knowing none of which would get done.

Minutes later they were driving to a destination which Kelsey, of course, didn't know. She wondered all the places Blaine could be taking her. They'd already been to one of the most magical places Kelsey could imagine.

She was watching out the window when she began to notice where they were headed. "Blaine where are we going?" Blaine just laughed and looked away. "Blaine come on where're we going?" Kelsey cried.

He didn't answer until they were in the airport, "Hey Blaine," a woman said.

"Oh, hey Regina. Is Scott here?"

"Yeah, he just landed, where you heading?" Blaine looked at Kelsey. "We're going somewhere special."

They were on the plane and taking off before Kelsey had time to blink. On the plane they talked about none other than her and Vivian’s friendship and why she didn't really talk to anyone else from high school. They talked about Blaine's baseball career, and their love for theater. Almost two hours had passed before they began to descend and Kelsey began to notice they were the only two on the small aircraft.

Kelsey looked out the window noticing all the large buildings and lights, “Blaine are we in New York!?" She asked excitedly.

Blaine smiled at her, "I saw all the pictures and postcards and plane tickets. None were from New York. So I thought I'd take care of that.”

Kelsey hugged him tightly, "Oh Blaine, thank you!"

As soon as they landed Kelsey ran out of the plane door. She was in awe at the sight of the large building and colorful lights.

Blaine noticed that she was playing with a small charm bracelet. Now that he'd thought about it he'd seen her play with it often and Vivian has one as well. He didn't ask about it figuring that was a conversation for another time. Instead he wrapped his arms around Kelsey and pressed a kiss to her cheek, "I want to take you somewhere." They only stood at the airport for what seem like a second to
Kelsey before a limo arrived to pick them up.

"A limo?" Kelsey said with excitement.

Blaine nodded and opened the door, without hesitation Kelsey got in the long black car.

Blaine took his seat next to Kelsey, "So are you having fun?"

Kelsey laughed, "More fun than you can imagine."

When the car stopped and the doors opened Kelsey knew exactly where they were. "Rockefeller Center," she squealed.

Blaine watched as Kelsey took in the scene. He could tell she loved every moment of it. Blaine bit his lip as the biggest smile spread across her face.

"Are you kidding me?" Kelsey yelled as Blaine skated circles around her. "What else are you good at?"
She wondered aloud. Blaine laughed and took her hands trying to help her across the ice. "Blaine, I'm not really good the whole ice skating thing... This is more Viv's area of expertise."

Blaine stopped, "I thought you might say that."

With the snap of his fingers people began to emerge out of nowhere carrying a table, two chairs, and other assorted dinner items. "How about dinner then?" Blaine's said pointing to the table which was
now in the middle of the rink.

Kelsey was almost in tears at the sight if all this. "Oh Blaine, this is perfect."

Blaine smiled, "Anything for you beautiful."

As they ate, they talked about how much she loved New York, how it was always their dream to come here someday, and how much Kelsey wished they'd had more time so she could go see a musical.
Kelsey talked and Blaine listened, he was good at that. Kelsey felt she'd never been so open with anyone other than Vivian.

Kelsey looked up at the big Christmas tree, it reminded her of home.

Blaine noticed her face and picked up the rose from the table and put it in his mouth. Kelsey laughed as Blaine danced around her and finally handed her the flower.

"Well thank you," she said trying to stand. No such luck. Quickly Blaine reached his arms around her and picked her up ‘Dirty Dancing’ style. He held her there for a few seconds and let her down slowly.
Blaine guided her to non-icy ground where she quickly changed into her boots. She watches as Blaine skated under the big tree, so gracefully and energetically. Blaine went up to her and kissed her on the cheek. Kelsey blushed and giggled.

After he'd changed into his shoes they just sat there gazing at the scenery. "Hey Blaine, where is everyone? Isn’t there like always 100's of people here?"

Blaine looked up at her and said nonchalantly, "I rented out the place."

Kelsey's mouth dropped. "RENTED OUT THE PLACE!" she said incredulously.

"Yeah, don't worry about it. I know a guy."

Kelsey still unsure of what to say let it go... For now.

They began to walk towards Time Square when he noticed her playing with her charm bracelet again.

"Okay I have to ask. What's with the bracelet? I know Vivian has one too."

Kelsey smiled, "Vivian bought them at a store in the airport when she left Oklahoma." Blaine kept his eyes ahead but his ears open. "Every time we go somewhere special we get a new charm. Blaine looked at her bracelet as she held out her arm. The Eiffel Tower? You went to Paris?”
Kelsey laughed and had a flashback. "Texas... Paris, Texas," she giggled. They continued walking and came across a little store. Kelsey knew what the store was because she'd seen it on a movie. So, of course, they went in.

Once they entered, Kelsey fell in love. Blaine looked at her smile and couldn't help but do the same.
"Pick whatever you want, it's on me." Kelsey kissed him on the cheek and began browsing the store.

Blaine went up to one of the employees and stood talking to them. Next thing she knew a girl was introducing herself as Hannah and had begun picking out outfits for Kelsey to try on. Kelsey looked around; there was no sign of Blaine. Quickly Hannah distracted Kelsey with the many clothes in the store.

Kelsey had tried on a few dresses before she head Blaine's voice again. "Hey where did you go?" she asked.

"Oh, they didn't have a public restroom I just ran next door." He looked suspicious but she let it go.... again.

The night was over and they were flying back home. Kelsey couldn't believe she'd just spent an amazing evening in New York.

When she arrived home, she knew exactly what to expect. She knew Vivian would be asleep on the couch and her books would be all over the floor and coffee table. Kelsey knew she'd have to feed Vivian's dog, Ollie. She knew that the t.v. would be turned to MTV, and that every light in the house would be on (she didn't like to be left home alone).

When she walked in the door that was the exact sight, except there was a small box on the coffee table, when she opened it the was a starfish for her charm bracelet and pictures of her and Justin at the beach. Kelsey smiled looking at the pictures. She cleaned up Vivian’s books, fed Ollie, and turned off the lights.

That night she went to sleep thinking of the amazing time she'd had in New York.

Kelsey woke up to the sound of Vivian in the shower. It was 7:30. "Vivian what are you doing?" Kelsey yelled.

"I have an early class, it’s Monday!" She yelled from the shower. With that Kelsey went back to sleep and dreamt of the secret memories they had made last night.
