‹ Prequel: Angel of Mine

Angels and Hunters.

I don't believe you when you say you don't need me anymore, so don't pretend to not love me at all.

She cringed as her body smashed in to the concrete wall and landed on the floor with a heavy thump, her vision blurred as she attempted to maintain eye contact with her attacker, all she could make out was a dark figure march towards her, it's piercing yellow eyes staring directly in to her core, she pushed her self off of the damp ground and stood to face her opponent stumbling slightly as she did. She threw a punch and felt her knuckles crack as her fist collided with a jaw, she felt a firm grip tighten around her neck as her eyes became heavy with fatigue from the long battle she had been fighting, her lungs burned and chest heaved for oxygen for a few seconds, as her vision became more distorted than before a loud hiss brought her back to reality, her eyes shot open the sudden sunlight making them sting, a rush of oxygen slipped in to her lungs as the grip around her throat loosened, she lay still on the floor for a few seconds, a dim painful ache pulsated through her body, observing the scene before her, unable to make anything out clearly.

A hand was thrust in to her face, she blinked a few times as a face came in to focus, she took the hand and rolled her eyes

"You again?"

he laughed as he realized who she was

"Hi princess"

He smirked

"I'm not your princess! why did you get involved I had it covered!"

"It sure looked that way"

tears pricked her eyes as she looked down towards the gash on her ankle, he followed her line of sight and looked at the bleeding wound horrified,

"You're coming with me!"

He made a grab for her slender frame only to be sent reeling by a blow to the face, a hot pain ran through his jaw as he clasped it with his hand, he looked at her angrily knowing she couldn't be from this planet, not with a right hook as strong as that one, he ignored the pain as he wrestled her in to the back of his car, she screamed and kicked out landing blow after blow on to his broad chest, his suspicions grew as he locked the back doors and climbed in to the front, she wasn't human, she can't have been, not with the strength she had,

"what even are you?"

before he knew it the words had escaped leaving an awkward silence to settle in the moving car only to be broken by her soft raspy voice,

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you?"

"Oh yeah? Try me?"

She sighed loudly and refused to answer. the pair remained silent for the rest of the journey his mind had gone in to overdrive pondering what sort of creature she could be.

the pulled in to the motel parking lot and he let her out of the back of the car, keeping a firm grip on the top of her arm as he guided her to the room to clean her wound, She threw glares at him all the way up to the room muttering curses under her breath.

HE pushed the heavy wooden door open and shoved her in to the room before she had a chance to run, she turned to face the other two strangers that she could only assume he lived with, the taller of the two returned her puzzled looks, but the other mans features where soft with only a hint of confusion, he rose from the badly upholstered arm chair he had been sitting in, his trench coat falling past his knees and he began to walk slowly towards her, she looked at him a clear confusion written across her pretty face

"Adriel?"

the man said as he cupped her face with one hand, she pushed his hand away and said spitefully

"Who the hell are you"

the room fell silent and the brothers glanced at each other watching as Cas became overly familiar with Deans guest, He threw his arms around her causing her to quickly shove him away, but even the display of spite she had just shown him couldn't wipe the smile off of the angels face,

"I'm your father"

The room fell eerily silent as they stood staring at each other, her vague memories slowly began to piece themselves together, his face was familiar, the piercing blue of his eyes even his voice brought back memories, she could almost remember the rough deep tone telling her he would be back for her when she was older.

She glared at him and gave him a sharp shove,

"the one who left me? the one who palmed me off to another family as soon as you got the chance"

"Adriel I had no choice it wasn't safe for you I...."

She cut him off abruptly

"Save it!"

She spat as she turned and stomped out of the small grubby room, she rushed down the steps that came off of the balcony wincing and limping slightly her leg still stinging, she hid herself away under these stairs and sat cross legged on the cold dirty floor, putting her head in her hands and rubbed her temples debilitated from the day she had, she felt the familiar glow build up behind her eyes as tears threatened to fall, her feelings where conflicted all her life she had wondered who her real family where what where they like, she had even gone to the extent of drawing pictures and writing stories, some of which she was certain she still had stashed away in her flat fro those particularly lonely nights, but now she had met him she couldn't forgive him for the hell that he had put her through, he was meant to love her but she didn't get that vibe from him.

************
"So you have a daughter?"

Sam questioned, Cas nodded his eyes still focused on the worn gaudy printed carpet that covered the floor

"and when where you going to tell us?"

The Angel shrugged,

"When it was appropriate, I didn't expect to find her again this soon, I'm sorry"

Just as Sam was about to speak Dean interjected,

"it's not us you need to apologize to, now I'm going to find her and this mess is going to be cleaned up"

he turned and tore out of the room, the refreshing air hitting his face, he couldn't help but feel a sense of smugness he knew she wasn't human. he began to slowly walk around the motel hunting for Adriel, past the dirty pool that was more often a crime scene than it was a leisure facility along several balconies that where strewn with fast food wrappers and cigarette butts, he lent on a railing that over looked the parking lot, his impala gleaming proudly making him smile to himself,

"she could be long gone by now"

He thought to himself feeling a sense of loss as he pondered this, he took a last slow walk around the grounds and smiled to himself as he noticed a small figure sat under the steps, he walked towards the curled up figure haltingly and sat on the ground next to her, he wrapped an arm around her skinny shoulders and pulled her closer to him, holding her delicate frame to his chest for a few more moments allowing her to shed her last few tears.

"I get it"

he whispered

"Get what?"

"You didn't have a full time father figure, neither did I"

He shocked himself with how open he was being with someone who was almost a perfect stranger,

"You don't get it" She spat angrily, her voice breaking with emotion, "I have wandered this planet for years, just watching the way you people exist, the way you treat each other, I can't deal! I've never been able to, I knew I wasn't normal, I've never been tired, I've never been hungry, I trained myself to eat and sleep through watching you people, I never had anyone to guide me, no one to tell me why I have these things making my shoulders itch, no one explained to me that I was special, and then he just comes out of no where totally blind sides me and expects me to be okay with that?"

He sighed loudly, she looked up at his face, she hadn't noticed his chiselled jaw before, or how he projected his emotions through his green eyes, she had never witnessed a mixture of understanding and passion in a man's eyes before it was normally hate for their wives and lust, she felt safe in Dean's arms and found her self attempting to lean closer in to him, her heart raced as his strong hands stroked the loose strands of hair off of her face, a heat seemed to heighten through out her body as she felt his lips press in to her forehead, she turned her face upwards, their eyes locked and with out saying a word their lips connected.
