Send Me Your Amnesty

Part Three: The In Between Years (Chapter 4)

February 2001 Dear Felicity,
Well, we aren’t divorced—we never married. Tell Amnesty that I am far away, I will come back in a while. Tell her that I LOVE her—I think about her every day. As she gets older explain that she is not a mistake, she is a miracle. Do everything you can to make her see that she is wanted in this world. Tell her that I am a very busy man in the music business. I think you should tell her what happened between us, just don’t use any specific names—like my name or Gilman, things that might link to Green Day. Hope my advice helps. ~Billie Joe

May 2002 Dear Billie Joe,
We’ve moved! Technically, we moved about 2 years ago, but now I’m moving jobs and Amnesty is moving schools. She’s exceeded her time at this private daycare/pre-school-1st grade school. We moved out of the city and into a quiet neighborhood where I’m closer to my new job and to Amnesty’s new school. I teach Anatomy at Harrison High School now and Amnesty will be starting 2nd grade at Klondike Elementary in the fall. She’s nervous. She told me she doesn’t want to go to Klondike. She and her best friend, Michaela (the one that asked about her father), are enrolling in different schools and Amnesty is sad that she won’t see her as much. I told her that her other friend, Marguerite, goes to Klondike and she felt a little more at ease. Marguerite switched schools when she started kindergarten, so Amnesty hasn’t seen her in a year or so. Ian moved schools as well, only he went into a totally different school corporation. I just told Amnesty to relax, enjoy your summer, you don’t have to go to school until August. ~Felicity

August 2002 Dear Felicity,
I’m happy for you. Congratulations on your new job. Joey is really excited about starting school again. We just got back from a month of touring in Europe. I think Joey just misses his friends. He’s doing really well. He’s loud and banging on the drum set at home doesn’t help. But it’s all good. He’s a good little drummer. Jakob is three, will be four in a few weeks, he’s in daycare/pre-school. Joey and Jakob get along great. Jakob likes to mimic Joey, he wants to be just like him.
A little while ago the two of them were playing superheroes and Joey put a colander on his head and tied a cape around his neck and Jakob put a bowl on his head and Joey helped him tie a cape around his neck and Jakob followed Joey around the house. They love playing superheroes and sometimes Adrienne or I will give them a little money for helping around the house as a token of their superness. ~Billie Joe

Sorry it's a short one, but the next one will make up for it.
I just want to say THANK YOU to all my readers, subscribers, commenters, and recommendations!!! I really do appreciate the feedback!
As you know I'm at college--and absolutely loving the experience! But I'm just super busy and I can't post as much. I'm lucky I'm remembering to post at least once a week.
Again I just want to thank you for all the support and patience with the slow uploading.
