Never Let Me Go

Found

The wolf turned around and looked me in the eyes. I had so many questions to ask him. Who was he? Did he really imprint on me? Why did he even bother protecting me? I was a vampire, aren’t werewolves supposed to dislike me? I kept on looking at his face, mine full with questions. But his face, he looked rather friendly. Perhaps even playful.
‘’I guess you have something to explain to me.’’ I murmured as I stepped closer to the wolf that had the most beautiful eyes I’ve ever seen. He moved up on all of his legs and became even bigger than he already was. I had to lift my head up to be able to look at him. Carefully I stroked his face with my hands. He was so warm, and soft. It felt like I was petting a puppy. I began to smile and that confused him. ‘’You know, this would be a lot easier if both of us could speak.’’ I whispered in one of his ears. The wolf trembled with excitement and ran into the forest, somewhere between the trees. Before I knew it I was standing alone again, at the center of the forest. I assumed he didn’t want to phase back to a human in front of me. Slowly I walked towards the place where he just left. ‘’Hello?’’ I said. Waiting for the wolf to come back, waiting for an echo or at least, waiting for something to come back. I began to walk back to the open spot. ‘’Hey’’ I heard someone say behind me. Did I dare to turn around? What would he look like? I didn’t respond. My body froze in the same position I was in when he spoke to me. I couldn’t keep this up for long. I had to look! Carefully I turned my head to the right. My body was still unwilling to move. ‘’Are you okay?’’ he sounded worried. ‘’Shouldn’t I be asking you that? Y-you, flew through the air!’’ this was silly, I was yelling at the floor. ‘’I’m used to action’’ he smirked. Slowly I decided to turn around. And there he was, the most beautiful boy I’ve ever seen. ‘’I’m Seth, by the way.’’ He kindly smiled. This guy was absolutely gorgeous. His laugh, his voice, his body… I can’t believe this. Did this guy imprint on me? He began to walk closer. I began to feel wobbly and light-headed. Was he doing that? My head began to spin. And then I faint.

‘’So you decided to wake up after all, huh?’’ a pretty girl about the age of 20 curved away from me. She had long black hair that reached over her shoulders. ‘’Should I even ask where I am?’’ I tried to sit down properly but the girl held me back. ‘’I suppose you deserve to know.’’ She winked. ‘’After all, you’ve been here all evening. Poor Seth wouldn’t leave you after taking you to the Cullens. But they fixed you up, alright. After all, Carlisle is a doctor.’’ She wondered off in her own thoughts. ‘’I’m sorry, but who are you?’’ I asked. ‘’Oh, how rude of me. I’m Emily.’’ She smiled. My eyes opened with surprise. This was the girl Sam imprinted on? The one who was somewhat guilty for Leah’s pain? ‘’Eh, hi’’ I managed to say. Emily began to laugh. ‘’I assume you heard my story from Jacob.’’ She looked at the window. ‘’Please Emily, tell me what happened.’’ I was able to move my body in the same position as Emily’s. Sitting side wards on the bed. ‘’Well, Seth didn’t say much. He was way too concerned about you. But what I remember, he went to the Cullens because he said you collapsed. And when he came back, you were still not moving. But it didn’t bother Seth anymore. He actually looked really self-assured; he even had a wide grin on his face while watching you in his arms. I think it’s because of something the Cullens told him…Let’s see, then he put you here in this room. Oh, and he stayed all night to make sure you wouldn’t freak out when you’d wake up. I told him, he needed some rest as well and promised him that I would watch you while he was out, sleeping.’’ Emily sighed deeply after telling her story. ‘’And now we’re here.’’ I looked at the floor. ‘’But where’s Seth now?’’ my eyes searched for Emily’s. ‘’I guess he’s outside, sleeping somewhere near a tree. Those wolves really need to start taking care of themselves.’’ She said while standing up. ‘’Come on, don’t be shy. The boys will soon be here, in the meantime, be sure to visit Seth.’’ And off Emily was. I sighed as I stood up as well. Did I really pass out a whole evening? I had to make sure that the Cullens knew that I was okay. On the other half, Alice would see me wake up and the Cullens would know that I was okay. Problem solved.

I moved downstairs, where I found Emily standing in the kitchen. It wasn’t a big kitchen, but it was small and cozy. Just like the house itself, actually. It was entirely made of wood. ‘’Are you sure you don’t need some help first?’’ I asked while closing the door behind me. ‘’I’m absolutely sure.’’ She turned around and this was the first time I saw a scar on her right cheek. ‘’What happened?!’’ quickly I jumped over the table that stood in between us. I looked at her face with a terrified look, while Emily just sighed. ‘’Emily, that scar’s huge! What on earth did you do to yourself?’’ I asked with skepticism. ‘’It’s not that interesting, really.’’ Slowly she turned towards the sink. I sighed; maybe she was too busy with cooking anyway. ‘’Just call me when you need anything, okay?’’ my body turned the opposite direction, towards the door. ‘’Sure’’ I heard a soft voice behind me while closing the front door. The weather was better than yesterday. The sun visible high in the sky, it really made me warm up. I inhaled the warm air as I stepped off the porch. It was time to find my missing wolf, I thought. I mean, it couldn’t be hard to find an over 2 meter high wolf somewhere in the forest. My eyes searched everywhere, near trees, bushes, even under rocks. How desperate could you be? Seth saved me, twice, and I haven’t even thanked him for it. I looked up at a familiar place. It was the open field right at the center of the forest. It felt weird to stand here again. The wolves, the still missing animals, Seth… I really had to start focusing, where could he be? I turned around and began to walk slowly. Suddenly I heard a loud snore coming from the east. My eyes softened at the big wolf lying next to the tree. Seth was okay. Seeing him sleeping there kinda made my whole day. He looked so peacefully. Slowly I tried to get closer; my feet were doing their best not to make any noise. All he did was snore, it made me laugh. But I began to wonder, what the Cullens tell him to make him laugh about me. Did Edward say something? Did Alice see something? Could Jasper feel how Seth felt, and did he think that was weird? I leaned my head against the opposite side of the tree Seth was sleeping at and started to look at the clouds. What would I do when Seth woke up? Hey, I’m Amanda; you’re imprintee. Nice to meet you. Oh and yeah, I kinda collapsed right in front of you when we met. I sighed deeply. The clouds looked so bright and free. I closed my eyes and inhaled yet another bit of summer air. I didn’t hear any snoring anymore. Did Seth wake up? Or did he leave the snoring part of his sleeping progress? ‘’Amanda’’ horrified I opened my eyes at the hearing of my name. Seth ran out of the forest towards me. He looked excited about me being here. ‘’Seth’’ I whispered. He was just as I remembered, the same beautiful face and body. A smile appeared on my face, this was going to be a beautiful day. Seth stood right in front of me, holding one of his hands open towards me, gesturing to help me up. I carefully took his hand and stood up. There we were. Standing together in the forest. ‘’I honestly don’t know what to say.’’ I murmured while looking at his face. I couldn’t stop thinking about how gorgeous he was. A smile appeared on Seth’s face. ‘’It’s about time you got here.’’ He winked. My face became red instantly. ‘’You’ve been waiting for me?’’ I asked curiously. ‘’Yeah, I didn’t need Emily to take over. But, I figured I did needed some rest.’’ He rolled his eyes theatrically. My smile became even bigger. This guy was great. More than great, he was perfect. We stared into each other’s eyes for a while. He looked so protective over me. ‘’Emily told me something.’’ I said to break the tension. Slowly we began to walk towards Emily’s house together. ‘’Yeah? What’s that?’’ he smiled friendly. ‘’What did the Cullens tell you, when I was…’’ I lifted my shoulders up. This wasn’t quite a comfortable subject. I saw a wide grin appear on Seth’s face. ‘’Something Edward told me.’’ He said while looking at the grass under our feet. Was Seth blushing? Really? ‘’And…?’’ I poked his shoulder playfully. ‘’And…the rest’s private.’’ He looked up again at my face, the grin still on his face. ‘’Well, that’s too bad then.’’ I murmured. ‘’I really wanted to tell you something as well.’’ I heard Seth stop walking with a confused expression on his face. ‘’What did you wanted to tell me?’’ he asked carefully. ‘’Nope, that’s private too.’’ I winked teasingly. A half-smile appeared on his face. ‘’Are you playing with me?’’ he raised one eyebrow. ‘’Maybe’’ I said while continuing my walk. ‘’Maybe not’’ I murmured. Suddenly I felt Seth's hand holding mine from behind. I turned around curiously and looked Seth in the eyes. He had a teasing look on his face. ‘’You first’’ I held my head up high. Seth put his hand on my face and pulled one stroke of my hair behind my ear. It made me nervous; my heart was pumping loudly through my chest. Apparently Seth heard and it made him chuckle softly. Great, not even my heart was going on like a maniac, but my cheeks were as red as a tomato now too! ‘’Edward told me the reason you faint.’’ He said playfully. We both turned around and continued walking, but he didn’t let my hand go. ‘’He said it was because of me’’ he said proudly. ‘’What? Edward read my mind while I wasn’t even conscious?’’ my eyes widened at the thought. Edward was gonna pay for this. How could he? He should have known that girls like me do not like it when someone tells what’s going on in their mind! Seth laughed loudly, although it sounded more like a loud bark. ‘’He didn’t tell me much. Just the need-to-knows. For example, how you thought about me.’’ He winked. ‘’Gorgeous, beautiful, strong…’’ he continued with a wide smile. Like a stubborn kid I put my arms over each other. I could already see Emily’s house near. Seth began to laugh at my reaction. ‘’Come on, Emily’s preparing dinner.’’ I whispered persistently.
