The Guardians

Dig up her bones but leave the soul alone

Stacy

I gasp as air fills my lungs and I sit up from where I’ve been laying. Instead of being in Deaton’s office, I’m in the middle of the woods; snow lightly falling from above. No one is around. Derek, Scott, Stiles, Isaac, Lydia and Allison are no where to be found. I’m alone. I look down at what I’m wearing. Instead of the flannel, AC/DC and black jeans attire I previously had on, I’m wearing a white dress with black detail at the bottom and a leather jacket. Instead my boots, I’m wearing heels. The outfit I’m wearing is similar to the outfit I wore to my first winter formal; when Derek was my date.

“I didn’t think I would see you this soon.” A female voice behind me says. I turn around and see Talia Hale walking towards me. A thoughtful smile on her lips. “But I’m glad you’re here.”

“And why is that Talia?” I ask, getting up from the snowy ground. “I failed your son.”

“I wouldn’t go that far,” she assures me, “you did ease his mind. He spent a good part of those six years thinking either his best friend had something to do with the fire or that you were dead; just like the rest of us.”

“You knew something was going to happen, didn’t you?” I ask. “You must have warned my mother because she wouldn’t have had packed up everything and fled like she did.”

“I had a feeling,” Talia replies, “I didn’t think everything would end the way it did though.”

“It’s the Argents, they don’t do things half assed.” I shrug, “but I’ve got a question.”

“What is it Stacy?”

“Why are you happy to see me?” I ask. “I get that we haven’t really seen each other in over six years but why would you be happy to see your son’s dead best friend.”

“Because I know you won’t stay dead for long.” She replies, “I need you to do a couple things for me when my brother brings you back; and he will bring you back.”

“Anything Talia.”

“Watch out for Derek,” she starts, “he’s stubborn and won’t accept your help but he’s going to need it; especially since he’s not an Alpha anymore.”

“Wait he’s not an Alpha anymore, how do you know?”

“When you’ve been up here as long as I have, you know how to watch over your loved ones.” She smiles, “I’ve been keeping a close eye on Derek. He sacrificed his Alpha power to help save Cora. That makes him a Beta once more.” I feel my heart stop, but Talia only smiles. “Don’t worry it won’t affect you bring brought back.” I sigh in relief,

“Ok besides me taking care of Derek, which should be a given,” I laugh, “what else do you need me to do?”

“This one involves Peter,” she sighs, “year ago I took a memory from him. He’s knows this now and he’s going to be searching for it. He’s going to ask you to help him; that’s the price you have to pay. He’s going to do whatever it takes to get that memory back.”

“So it’s my job to keep him from it?” I muse, “just like the root cellar.”

“Just like the root cellar.” She confirms. “He can’t know this memory, it won’t end well.”

“What’s the memory if I may ask?”

“He has a daughter.” She sighs, “she’s a were-coyte. Her name is Malia.”

“And who am I really protecting here?” I question, “her or Peter?”

“Everyone else.” She replies, “chaos is coming to Beacon Hills. You don’t need one more thing to add onto it. Malia and Peter can’t meet, you understand me?”

“Loud and clear, Mama Hale,” she smiles at the name I used to always call her.

“You’re not a horrible Guardian, Stacy,” she assures me, “you just do things your own way. You’re the only Guardian that can think like a wolf and that’s a blessing not a curse.”

“Thanks Talia,” I smile pulling the mother wolf into a hug. “I just hope I’m better at it the second time around…”

This is it guys. The Guardians is finished. Breath of Life is the sequel. There will be more Guardian mythology in the sequel. More Derek and Stacy scenes. She's got a lot to make up for. She might make an enemy out of Peter and so much more.

I would like to thank you guys for all the comments, subscriptions and reccs. It means a lot. I didn't think this would be popular, especially for my first Teen Wolf fanfiction. But thanks to you guys, it did amazing for my first time writing something based on the TV show. Hopefully you guys like the sequel too.
