We Can Figure the Rest Out

He watched as she threw her head back in laughter, her brown curls flying everywhere. He couldn't help but feel the smile spreading across his own face, hers was just so intoxicating.

He watched as she flawlessly changed from the girl he'd gotten to know so well recently to a girl everyone hated. The amazement in his eyes would've been hard to miss, and as soon as her scene was over her eyes floated in his direction. For a second he kept staring, unable to look away, but then he let his gaze fall to the floor and he ran his sweaty palms through his very short brown hair.

"Dylan! Dylan!" she shouted after him, as he turned to head in the other direction.

With a deep breath and a long sigh he turned to face her, reflecting her smile on his own face again, "Hey Megan, what's up?"

"How was that?" she asked softly, gesturing to the area where her character had just shared an intense conversation with Tyler Hoechlin's character.

"I mean, you kind of suck.." he responded jokingly, "We might need to replace this girl!" he shouted to no one in particular, Megan laughed and he mentally noted his hilarity.

"Okay, so I have a question for you. You live around here, right?" she asked, her tone suddenly much more serious.

"Yeah, actually just a couple miles away." he said, "Why?"

"Cause the place I was supposed to stay tonight kinda fell through, so I was just wondering if there were any nice hotels that you knew of, so I can avoid getting horror movie killed." she started laughing halfway through her own joke, like she always did, and he couldn't help but smile as he shook his head at her.

"You're ridiculous. Tyler's driving to San Francisco tonight to stay with his girlfriend since we're not filming anything tomorrow, so you could just stay at our place. We've got an extra bed." he said, trying not to make her feel uncomfortable with such a forward invitation.

She cocked her head slightly, and squinted her eyes in disbelief, "Really?" she whispered. "I mean, that would be perfect. Yeah."

"Of course, stupid. I'm not gonna make you pay for a hotel when I have a perfectly good house." he said, half-jokingly, and hit her lightly on the arm before he started walking away, "I have a scene to film, but I'll find you before I leave."

"Awesome, thank you!" she half-shouted to Dylan as he walked towards the other set.

He couldn't even muster up a response, the nerves were building in his stomach and he thought through exactly what he had just done. Usually he had no problem talking to girls, but when he looked at her it was like his mind turned to mush. All he could hope for was a calm evening where he didn't embarrass himself too much.
