Seven Days

monday.

It was Monday morning - 7:32am to be exact - and Alex Gaskarth was completely and utterly exhausted. He was finally getting home, the city of Baltimore, Maryland, after a long winded tour in the United Kingdom.

He missed the crisp, clean air that blanketed the environment of Maryland. He missed the birds chirping in the early morning. He missed climbing atop the roof of his home to watch the sun rise over the east coast.

More importantly, though, Alex had missed a certain person in particular - Jess Knight. He and Jess had been together for a little over three years and it was... crazy, to say the least.

Anyone who were around the two for more than twenty minutes would swear to you that Jess and Alex hated each other with every fiber of their being. The two twenty-five year olds bickered to the end of time about just about everything. They would constantly pick apart one another's flaws and sometimes their mistakes.

On the other hand, anyone who knew the couple for a long amount of time would swear to you - and be correct, as well - that even though they fought like two teenagers, couldn't stand being around one another sometimes, and did things solely just to piss the other off a good bit of the time, Jess and Alex were absolutely crazy about each other and they needed each other more than they let on.

Unlocking the front door of the large home with his key, Alex slowly creaked the door open, not wanting to make any more noise than necessary.

Slipping off his shoes by the front door, the man bolted for the stairs, taking two at a time. He couldn't even attempt to hide the excitement bursting through his seams at even just the thought of seeing Jess after a two month tour. She was what he was looking forward to throughout the duration of the tour.

Finally reaching the pair's bedroom, he ambled through the already open door, spotting a sleeping Jess, cuddled up in the fluffy, white sea of blankets. Smiling at the sight in front of him, Alex pulled off his jeans and then proceeding to get into the bed and cuddle up into Jess' back.

Shuffling in her sleep, Jess' baby blue eyes eased open, adjusting to the bright sun that had casted a light on the wall. Feeling an arm around her petite waist, Jess turned around, only to come face to face with Alex.

"Alex," was all she said, grinning wildly at the man in front of her. "You're home."

"I missed you so much," Alex beamed at the small girl, placing his lips on her forehead. "I couldn't wait to get home, you know."

"I missed you, too."

"And the best part is that for the next month and a half, I'm all yours, baby," Alex smiled, pressing his forehead against hers, closing his eyes shut.

"I love you, Alex," Jess let out a small gigglle, kissing the man's nose, then shifting back to her spot in the bed.

"I love you, too, Jess," Alex nodded, as if confirming his own statement. "I think I fall in love with you more and more each day."

What neither Alex nor Jess knew, though, was that they were about to embark on the longest week of their life.

i got the idea for this while i was listening to 7 days by the summer set earlier; so, obviously it's based upon that song. if you haven't heard it, you should definitely go check it out.
i also know that i have, like, 3 other stories waiting to be updated, but until i get ideas for those, here is this. this won't be long, so i'm hoping this will be done and then i can begin working on my other stories again.
now i'm rambling, so i'll shut up now.
hope you enjoy this; it's gonna be a lot of fun to write :-)
