Three's a Crowd
Chapter 2
“Harry! Harry! Harry!” the calls from a small collection of paparazzi echoed around the young singer as he waved his way through the bodies toward his Range Rover parked on the sidewalk. Automatically unlocking his door he stepped in slamming the door closed behind him muffling the sounds of the voices, but doing nothing to rid them from his path.
“Go away,” he growled as he started the engine revving it a few times causing some of them to step back, in those few seconds he was able to pull out of his car park and speed off down the road. Normally the singer is able to cope with paparazzi but today wasn’t one of those days. The previous night he had been up planning for the boys new album and that had gone well into the early hours of the morning resulting in him having very little sleep and now all the green eyed male wanted was to collapse under his blankets and sleep for all the hours he missed. Harry was halfway home when his phone began to ring; grasping his phone he looked at the caller id and saw it was his Mum, he placed the mechanical device back in the center console of his car as he continued his trip home. He would call his mum back when he got home.
Pulling into the driveway of his house he hit his breaks heavily the car jumping to a stop as he slipped his hand break on and stepped out of his car his right hand through his curls and redialing his mother’s number.
Three rings were all it took before he heard Anne’s chirpy voice.
“Hello sweetie,” she spoke into the mouthpiece happily.
“Hey Mum,” he greeted as he slid his house key through the front door and pushed his way inside. “Sorry I didn’t answer before I was driving.”
“That’s alright, I just wanted to double check if you’re still coming tonight?”
“Shit!” Harry groaned face-palming himself, “Mum I’m gonna have to get a rain check on tonight, I was up all hours last night planning our new album with the boys and now all I want to do is sleep.”
“Harry,” Anne chastised her youngest child for forgetting the plans he and his family had made.
“Sorry Mum,” he apologized disappointed in himself when he heard his mother sigh on the other end of the line. “I’ll make it up to everyone. I promise.”
“No it’s alright,” Anne sighed heavily, “But I wish you had remembered…” Anne trailed off before speaking again, “Well I will let you go and get some sleep,” there was a sound of movement and Harry knew she was pulling the phone away from her ear.
“Mum!” he nearly cried into the phone, “I really am sorry.”
“I know sweetie, it’s alright, just get some sleep.”
“Alright, bye.”
“Goodbye Harry,” with that the two each disconnected their calls. The curly haired singer walked into his room and over to his bed before collapsing on top of it wrapping himself in his blankets too tired to worry about missing his family dinner.
It took only seconds for the singer to slip into a deep, much needed, sleep.
Anne disconnected the call with her son looking down at the envelope she had clasped in her hand, the flap torn open roughly. Anne had received the letter a few weeks ago, it was a letter asking that the woman meet her other two children for the first time in nineteen years. The parents, Shelly and Ronald who had adopted her two other sons had asked if she would consider seeing Marcel and Edward again, they thought it was time that they finally met their real mother and their other brother.
Anne hadn’t known what to do with the letter so she had gone straight to Robin who in turn suggested she talked to Des about it. It had taken her a little while to pick up her phone and talk to her ex-husband about what she should do.
Of course she wanted to meet her two other sons but would her two children be able to face the truth, the truth that her and Des had lied to them for most of their lives, hiding from them that they had two other brothers that they never had the chance to meet. In the end the brunette had decided that it was time that her two children met their other siblings and she saw the two sons she had to give up all those years ago.
The dinner she had been planning was so she could tell Gemma and Harry the news but now that had gone down the drain with Harry pulling out due to his need to sleep and she didn’t want to just tell Gemma, no she wanted them all there so she could tell them at the same time.
She would have to organize another family dinner with them at an upcoming date and this time she would make sure Harry came, if she had to drive down to London to get him she would. They needed to know.
“What’s going on Love?” Robin’s voice came from the entrance of the kitchen causing Anne to snap out of her thoughts.
“Harry can’t make it, he was out all last night organizing the boys new album,” Robin looked sympathetically at his wife before nodding his head. “Well Gemma is still coming…”
“I know, but I want to tell the two of them when they are together…” Anne trailed off as tears formed in her eyes. “What if they never speak to me after this?”
“Anne,” Robin sighed walking over to the older woman and wrapping his arms around her in a warm hug. “Everything is going to be fine, stop worrying,” sniffling into his dress shirt she nodded her head taking a deep breath trying to suppress the emotions that stirred inside her.
“I hope so,” she admitted it wasn’t just Harry and Gemma she was worried about, what if Edward and Marcel didn’t like her, what if they were mad at her for giving them up? Hugging her husband tighter she tried to rid the thought from her mind and ease her nerves.
