Run 「走る」

First period starts,
and I am not in class.

The bell has rung,
but I am on the bathroom floor.

Everywhere aches.

People surround me.

They beat me
with their words and fists,
and one kid even has a knife.

'Little Beggar Girl', they call me,
and I don't know how to brush it off.

I wish I was like The Runner Boy.

He seems so strong,
and yet they think of him as a coward.

To run away from all this pain
and suffering?

That doesn't seem half bad.
