Run 「走る」

I didn't go to class
for the whole day.

No one noticed.

When the last bell rings,
everyone gets up to sing
our school song.

But not me.

I run for my life,
as fast as I can,
clutching the strap of my bag.

I'm the only one on the bus,
since it just arrived at the stop.

The driver gives me a weird look.

We sit there in silence,
and I use my eyes to beg him
to leave before others come.
