Chapter 5: The Mission
RECAP:
Alright Moon Huntress," Jiraiya said bluntly, "Spill it."

(Artemis POV)
"Before one of the warriors passed away he said something."
-FLASHBACK-
They placed them down the fallen warrior's bed, but I shook my head, two of them were already dead. Only one survived but when i tried to heal him he smacked my hand away, "Don't waste your chakra on me, I won't live."
"I must try."
"NO!" I took a step back, the anger I felt it filling the room, "Tell the Elder.." he coughed up blood, Star sat next to me holding his hand. I could tell that she was on the verge of passing out, but she held her head high. Moron. "Tell the Elder, that the war between the Dense Forest and the Running Stream caused this. Our Clan is stuck in the middle of it all....." and with that he died.
-END FLASHBACK-
"The Dense Forest, Running Stream?" Naruto looked at Jiraiya wide-eyed "Aren't those the warring villages you were talking about?"
Aria's ears and mines perked up hearing this. "Wait," I said staring at the two Leaf ninjas, "You two are heading towards the Village of the Dense Forest and the Village of the Running Streams?"
"Right," Jiraiya nodded, "you see an old friend of mine requested my presence to protect her and her Clan while her husband is away at war."
Aria gave him a curious glance before asking mischievously, "Are you really going there to protect them or to pervy on them?"
I couldn't help but chuckle, well until I saw Naruto staring at me. "What?" why was the kid determined to stare at me like a creepier all the time?!
"N-nothing," he stuttered clearly embarrassed.
The Elder and Star looked at one another and Star spoke up, "These warring Villages are causing deaths to our Clan. We must find out some way for them to stop so no more blood is spilled."
I nodded my head in agreement. "So it's settled," everyone looks at me, "We send in warriors to have them stop."
"But it can't be a battle patrol," Star argued, "If we do send one in then we will be part of the war and most likely have half of the Clan killed!"
"But if we don't then our warriors will just be part of the war as by standing casualties," the Elder stated, "and then we still have half the Clan gone..."
"So it's settled!" Naruto stood up in excitement, "We'll deliver the message to the villages for you!"
Aria and I gave each other glances, both knowing what that meant. If Naruto and Jiraiya, both Leaf Ninjas, telling the villages to leave the Clan alone then the Clan will be seen as a threat and just wiped out entirely. I could tell Elder and Star thought the same thing and we all exchanged knowing glances.
Naruto, being as slow as ever, realized our lack of optimism and asked, "What?"
I sighed while Jiraiya face palmed, "Moron if we're LEAF SHINOBI," he emphasized on their titles, "then we'll make it seem as if we are part of the war and risk the Clan's entire extermination."
"Ohhh..."
Silence swallowed up the room and I could feel the herb's power starting to ebb away. CRAP.
And all at once I felt it; complete and utter less despair rolled off of everyone in the room making my eyes widen. I clenched my fists so hard I could feel the blood drip from my nails onto the ground. Aria nosed my fists open and started to lick the wound.
"Okay," I spoke up barely above a whisper and yet I felt everyone's eyes on me, "I'll do it."
"Do what?" Aria gave me a curious glance, but I also saw a mixture of hope. She was hoping that I would become the way I was before the incident.
"I'll go to the Village of the Dense Forest and put this Clan out of harms way."

Aria: I told you not to take that many cold pills, she took four and was like a drunk the entire day no wonder you don't remember anything.
Me: well.... now you know! :D
