Vampires always roamed with mortals, but we never knew it. For the most part, they didn't mind living in peace with us and did it for the better part of the years humans had been on earth.No one knows what happened that made them change their mind, but one day came that they decided it was time for them to rise up over the mortals and take over humanity.

I should've known not to go out at night, especially by myself, since that was when it was most dangerous. I could've been killed, had my blood spilt into the streets and drank by a small gang. What happened instead may not be my ideal situation, but it's better than being lunch.
