Schrei So Laut Du Kannst

"You speak English?"

"Katy! That was mean!"

"Honest."

"Come on, you three. Katy, show them where they'll be sleeping."

"Yes, ma'am."

The twins followed, carrying their suitcases, and I pushed open the door to the guest room. Identical grins spread across their faces at the exact same time. Again, I rolled my eyes and headed to my ownrefuge bedroom. Once I shut the door, I logged onto my messenger and saw Hershey was on.

Katy says: they're here

Hershey[Chocolate] says: no. way!!!!

Katy says: yep but don't come over

Hershey[Chocolate] says: why not? :(

Katy says: because they're laying down to sleep, apparently, jet lag kicked their asses... just so you know, i won't be in school for the rest of this week.

Hershey[Chocolate] says: mkay but next week you and the cuties will be here?

Katy says: yeah well i'mma go.

Hershey[Chocolate] says: okay <3

Katy has signed out

At dinner, I remaind quiet, along with everyone else, and my father kept shooting dark looks at my mom. Thankfully, he didn't start a fight with her. Not then, anyway.

The week leading up to Monday had never seemed so long, and I was just waiting for it to crash in around us. And it did. Sunday night passed slowly, but finally, I escaped to my room.

The clock turned to ten. My computer had just finished shutting down. The German twins were in their room. I was in mine. The shouting started. Got louder. Crashes against te wall. Shattering glass. I cried out silently when my mother whimpered. Her voice grew. So did my dad's. I buried my face in my pillow and screamed. My door opened, and, in the glare of light coming from down the hall, I saw the outline of two people.

"Come in," I choked out.

Bill's eyes caught sight of my tears before Tom shut us in darkness again. They both sat on my bed, and I continued sobbing as the boys remained quiet. Two soft hands held onto mine, lending me muted comfort; I finally stemmed my tears and sniffed multiple times.

"Are you okay?" Bill (?) asked gently.

"You speak English?"

He chuckled. "Yeah. We learned it in school."

"Oh."

"So will you be okay?" Tom repeated.

"Yeah. I'll be fine."

"How do you deal with this?"

"Music."

"That's good. Have you told anyone?"

"Just my two best friends."

"Anybody else?"

"No. I'm not stupid."

"We---"

"I know."

I jumped when another object hit the wall, and the boys scooted closer to me. When I layed back, they mirrored my actions, squishing me between them. I laughed quietly and sighed. Tom rubbed my arms while Bill whisper-sang a quiet melody. I couldn't help myself: I fell asleep.
