Out With a Bang

"Isobel... what are you talking about? Where are your brothers?" I glared harshly at my dad. Never in my life have I despised this man. This was the closest I'd ever come to it.

"Oh I don't know we just had a car chasing us, not to mention them asking where the girl was, and the gunshot! Daddy Mikal and the guys could be dead!" I felt tears well up in my eyes. Dad stared at me trying to make sense of my babbling. His eyes widened. "Whatever this is about, Alec seemed to think I should know!" Dad started mumbling under his breath.

"Baby girl... I'm going to tell you. It's going to sound incredibly..."

"Shut up and get to the point Dad!" I was angry and out of my mind worried about the guys. It just hit me that I left Cam with BVB. Hopefully he's in good hands. My mind wandered back to Mikal. I don't know what I would do if he was dead, or any of them for that matter.

"Baby girl, sit down for this." He sat on the edge of the love seats arm.

"I'd rather not." He sighed and rubbed his head.

"You aren't supposed to learn of this until you turned 18. That was your mother's last request." I stared at him. He sighed again. I was 17 and 18 in two weeks. "Isobel... your mother, she, she... how do I put this..." he trailed off. I began getting agitated. "She wasn't... entirely human." He stopped at that to gauge my reaction. I didn't give me the satisfaction.

"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" I glared harshly at my dad.

"I'm only going to continue if you promise not to interrupt. Do you think you can handle this?" I simply nodded.

"I met your mother when she first 'woke' up." I instantaneously became confused. "She told me that I was her mate of some sorts. I, of course, found it odd. Any normal person would have found it odd. She smiled at me and told me that she would leave me one day and that I would be passing this information down to someone else. When you were born I knew then what she meant." My mind was reeling. What the hell is he talking about? I wish he would get to the point.

I looked up at him and opened my mouth to say something but he held his hand up.

"I'm getting there Isobel. She passed out immediately after telling me this. I called for help, the EMS showed up shortly after that. She remained asleep for 3 days. During those days something kept me from leaving her. When she woke her eyes were blacked out and had black veins popping up underneath them. She was paler than she was seconds before. I was fixing to ring for help when she was suddenly in front of me holding her hand to my mouth. She told me not to be afraid. That she wouldn't hurt me. She could never hurt me." He took a deep breath. "Isobel... your mother told me she wasn't entirely human. This may come as a big shock, but your part vampire."

"Are you crazy?! You're telling me that I'm a fucking Vampire!" This was insane. Deep down I knew he wasn't lying. It made so much sense.

"Isobel you are one. Alec, Jonathan, and Mikal all are. Females 'wake' up on their 18th birthday. The males wake up on their 16th. Mikal isn't related to us but his mother was really good friends with Veronica. You can still walk around in the sunlight. Only the full blooded are incapable of doing so." I nodded suddenly understanding.

"At least I won't sparkle." I murmured underneath my breath.

"Isobel... that's not all. Your mother ran away from her family at the age of 16. She grew up knowing of this. Your mother was not only part vampire but royalty amongst the half and full bloods. You see her mother was human. Those men earlier were after you so they could bring you to your grandfather. You must never go to him. Mikal and your brothers have done all they could to protect you. They may have even died doing the job." I sucked in a breath. "Not necessarily though. Alec is very strong. Mikal and Jonathan are fast. You are too." I hadn't realized but I was suddenly on the opposite side of the other room.

"I thought I was supposed to wake up on my 18th?" He nodded.

"You are starting the changes earlier than normal." A new voice suddenly entered the room. I looked over and noticed Alec and Jonathan. My heart squeezed. Where was Mikal? Oh god! What if he was dead? He can't be. I love him.

"Alec! Where is he?" I couldn't help but be worried. I've been in love with Mikal ever since I was 15. He was 16 at the time.

"It's nice to see you alive and well to sis! Is that all you can think of? Fucking Mikal?! We almost got killed and you are worried about him, that fucking traitorous lying bastard!"

"Shut up Alec! He did it to save her!" Jonathan suddenly cut into Alec's angry rant.

"What are you guys talking about, how is he a lying bastard?" I was panicking.

"Mikal is fine! He should be here soon. HE just told us some news about the people who are chasing us and want to kill you." Jonathan assured me.

"Kill me! Dad said that they just wanted to take me to Grandfather!"

"There are two people after you,and us. The people we just encountered were Mikal's family." Alec spat furiously. Hew was suddenly growling. I stared at his teeth fascinated. His teeth were fucking sharp and extended out of his mouth. His eyes were all black with veins underneath. Just like dad said moms were.

"You can't choose your family Alec! You should know that!" I whipped around at the sound of Mikal's voice. He was covered in blood and his teeth were extended as well. I couldn't help myself. I attacked him in a hug.

"I'm so glad you are ok! I don't know what I would have done if you were dead!" I whispered against his neck. A growling sound emanated from his chest. Oh god! That was incredibly hot.

"Don't worry Cupcake. I'm fine. I told you we would be back." He laughed softly. The growling sound cam back.

"Where is Cam?" Jonathan suddenly shouted. 'Oh shit!' I thought. I quickly released Mikal and took off running out of the house. I guess I could get used to these powers. 'Powers' I thought bitterly. These are things that are passed down from my mother through this vile disease. Why couldn't she have been here to tell me these things?

I glanced back at the sound of footsteps. I was flying at a speed humans couldn't see. I noticed Jonathan and Mikal. Alec was further behind. Dad did say he was the strongest. When I came to a stop at the place where I left Cam he was gone. I quickly turned in circles panicking.

"Guys he was here when I left!" I shouted behind me.

"Isobel, is that you?" I heard a voice from behind the door in front of me.

"Yeah, is that you Cam?" I said calming down.

The door swung open and there Cam stood in all of his glory. He wasn't looking at me. He was looking behind me. I turned and noticed Jonathan and Alec. Mikal was hidden in a tree. He was covered in blood. Whose blood is it though?

"You guys are ok!?" Cam shouted and tackled them both.

"Who are they?" I jumped at the voice.

"Holy shit, you're Craig fucking Mabbitt!" I heard Jonathan say.

"These are the people I was telling you about. Minus Mikal... where is he! Is he okay?!" Cam became frantic.

He's fine Cameron." Alec reassured him. Cam glanced at me for confirmation. I nodded. "He stayed at the house." Alec had a harsh tone.

"You're back!" Another voice shouted. I turned again and saw Jake Pitts and Jinxx.

Alec screeched and tackled Jake. I couldn't help but bust out laughing. This was a funny picture. Even though it was funny I felt tears well up in my eyes.

"Are you ok?" I glanced at Craig and nodded. I stuck my hand out.

"I'm Isobel." I told him with a sad smile. He took my hand pulled me to him. He was really short.

"I'm more of a hugger." I giggled. He was funny.

"Isobel, that's a really pretty name for a even prettier girl." I glanced over and noticed Ashley standing there.

"Are you hitting on me Mr. Purdy?" I mocked his stance and moved closer.

"What if I am?" I'd say I'm not interested even though you are incredibly sexy."

"Damn... oh well I guess I'll have to keep trying." He smirked at me. I bit back a retort and just smiled at him.

"That's great Ashley now would somebody please get this fat thing off of me?!" I couldn't help but laugh. Jonathan moved forward and pulled Alec off of him. "Thanks so much... fatty!"

I was literally on the ground rolling, laughing, tears streaming, while Cam was pointing. Alec's look turned murderous. He punched Jake on the shoulder.

"I'm not fat. This," he patted his stomach and lifted his shirt, "is 215 pounds of muscle." He glanced at Cam and began laughing. Seeing Cam's face sent me into more laughter including Craig, and Jake this time.

I began feeling like I was being watched. I glanced back at Mikal. He gave me this stupid grin and winked. I chuckled, it wasn't him I would feel different. I looked up and noticed that it was Jinxx. I blushed.

"Come inside and hang with us. It'll be fun." Jinxx told us. I glanced back at Mikal. He nodded encouragingly. I smirked.

"Sure! It could be fun." I said and punched Jonathan on the shoulder.

This was only the beginning.
