A Part of the Team
Mornings
The days went by so slow, I had meetings after meetings about medical procedures, got my nose pierced, of course laundry, and babysitting Alex. But today things go back to normal, I am super excited to see the guys today since I havent seen or talked to them for about a month. Before leaving for the airport I changed into http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=106078799. They come back so late that I had to drive Geno's car so he can take us home after, I hope. Finally I get as far as I can with everyone else. We waited, and waited until I saw all of this security and people in tuxedos. I smiled and ran past security and everything just to hug one of them any of them makes me so happy. I quickly said
"your home, home."
I felt a huge hand on my back at that point I knew it was Geno. He said
"So happy to see you."
I smiled and realize we were in a big group hug, the cutest thing ever. We all celebrated and I could not smiling and happy crying for the half an hour. Me and Geno got in the car and I could not stop looking at him. He noticed this and said
"What?"
"Look at my face when we get to a stop light."
He turned and looked at first he was confused and then he said
"Look good."
I smiled and said
"Thanks."
We went home and I went straight to sleep because we had a game the next day. Waking up from a very good dream of... oh wait I cant tell you or it wont come true :P. I changed into http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=106081770 and ran down the stairs to see Geno making breakfast. He greeted me and I did the same back as I sat at the island in the kitchen my phone started to buzz and this is how the conversation went
Me: "Hey John."
John: "Jaden? Hey you need to get here."
Me: "But I didn't even get breakfast and this is Geno's first day-"
John: "JADEN NOW!"
As he hangs up the phone I sigh and say
"Looks like I did something wrong again."
I stood up to hug Geno and he kissed the top of my head and said
"Stay strong sis. See ya later."
I waved as I left as soon as I entered the energy center I could tell something was up. I found John and he said
"Go talk to Coach Dan."
I turned and went over to Dan and said
"Hey, you need to talk to me?"
He said
"Uh, yeah meet me in my office."
I walked to his office and sat there for about 5 minutes until he walked in and sat in front of me. Silence and then he said
"So unfortunately your salary is not fitting well into the gap."
I said
"What?"
"Basically we don't have enough money to support you. I am sorry but we can not have you as a team physician. But I see as well as others how much you have grown with the team, you know how to keep them calm and make them do what they need to do. So if you want there is a job opening as a assistant coach team associate position."
I laughed and said
"I never heard of that job before what are the details to it?"
"Its a little less money but you do need some medical experience which I think you have. Basically what you do during the games is sit in the box and if someone has a injury you treat it while they are in the box and try to calm them down. Also if we need you on the ice for any medical attention I expect you to be there. Off the ice I just want you to be there and get the guys snacks or water or whatever they want at the time. Does it sound like a deal?"
"Yes, most definitely."
