In Too Deep

Chapter 9

It had been two weeks since Vic and Kellin decided to be in a relationship. The boys couldn't be happier. Jaime and Tony were fairing the same way.
"Hey." It was Saturday morning and Vic was being startled awake by someone whispering his name. He felt the dip in the bed as hot breath spilled down his neck. He snuggled deeper under the covers. "Vic, sweetheart."
"Kels?" He opened his eyes to see Kellin towering over his body. The paler boy smiled a very half hearted smile. Vic snaked his arms around his neck. "What's wrong?"
"Let me under the covers?" Kellin tugged at the top of the dark sheets.
"I'm just in my boxers." Vic whispered. He started blushing. Even though Kellin has seen Vic without a shirt, he has never been able to see him with any less. There was one time were Kellin had snuck through his window without his knowledge and Vic almost walked out in just a towel. He quickly slammed the door though.
"So? Vic I'm not going to see your legs. I'm cold." Kellin gave him a puppy dog look. Vic sighed but lifted up the covers. Kellin put their bodies together, tangling their legs as well. "Have you, you know?" Vic chuckled.
"Hurt myself?"
"Yeah." Kellin's hand was tracing his hips. He hated the thought that he wasn't keeping his boyfriend happy. According to Mike, Vic was happy. That's another new thing, Mike actually likes Kellin. They started becoming good friends. Vic brushed a few strands of Kellin's dark hair from his eyes, resting it on his cheek. He had thought about it, a lot. But he always went to Kellin to make him feel better.
"No I haven't." Kellin kissed the boy in front of him. Vic smiled. "You make me happy."
"You make me happy too Vicky." Vic scrunched his nose.
"Really? Stop with that Vicky crap." Kellin kissed tip of his nose. "What's wrong today?" Kellin tensed.
"It was such a good morning. Can't that come up later?" Vic shook his head. "Ugh, I just wanted to spend a nice morning with my boyfriend."
"It's always going to be in the back of your mind though. I don't want you unhappy. You hear my problems, why can't I hear yours?" Kellin started twirling Vic's hair between his fingers. He was so tired.
"Vic, do you know what time it is?" Vic drew his eyebrows together. "It's two in the morning." Vic turned his head towards his alarm and sure enough in green numbers it read: 2:05.
"Why the hell are you in my room at 2 in the god damn morning?" Kellin laughed at Vic's face. He looked annoyed.
"I had a bad dream." He stuck out his bottom lip. "I wanted to come and sleep with you." Vic rolled his eyes.
"You make me sound like your mother."
"Aw, momma Vic." Kellin teased as he pulled the tan boy closer and snuggled into his neck.
"I should kick you out of my bed." The only response he received was a hum. They sat there for awhile. Vic was slowly running his hands through Kellin's black locks.
"Goodnight Vic."
"Goodnight Darling."

They both woke up to the sound of knocking on the door. That couldn't be Mike because he doesn't knock. That could only leave Vic's parents. The door opened and his mother stepped through. Vic shot up quickly as his mother gasped. From her point of view it looked like both boys were naked. Neither of them were wearing shirts.
"Mom this isn't what it looks like." Kellin rolled on his back to get a good view of the scene. The only word to describe Mrs. Fuentes' face was shocked.
"Honey what's-" Mr. Fuentes stopped next to his wife. He was at a loss for words when he saw his son naked next to his boyfriend. Mike squeezed through his parents.
"Oh yes please. Invite the whole family while you're at it." Vic felt the heat rushing to his cheeks. He was waiting for the question that would bring awkwardness down on this household.
"Did you two have sex?" His father broke the silence.
"Not yet." Kellin said in a low tone only Vic could hear. The other boy was shaking with fear.
"No! We've only been together for, like, two weeks."
"Victor Vincent Fuentes!" Mrs. Fuentes looked like she could kill both of them. "What did I say about having sex under this roof?!" Vic pointed at Mike.
"He does it!" Mike glared at his brother. "Besides I'm still a virgin." Kellin didn't know what to say.
"Michael!" Mike ran out of the room with his mother yelling at him in Spanish. Mr. Fuentes just turned to look at the two boys in the bed. That's when he noticed his son's arms.
"Son, what's on your arms?" Vic quickly pushed his forearms under the covers.
"Nothing. Can we not talk about it while Kellin is here?"
"Of course." Mr. Fuentes took note of his son's attitude change. "I will just shut this." He closed the door and left the two boys alone. Vic groaned and fell back on the bed.
"That was too close." Kellin glanced at Vic. The teen had his eyes closed with his mouth slightly opened. He positioned himself over the tan boy.
"Why don't you tell them? They'll understand." Vic opened his eyes and was met with sad blue sapphires.
"Kellin, whats wrong? You've been down in the dumps lately and everytime I try to bring it up you give me some lame excuse." Kellin shifted above Vic.
"It's nothing."
"It's not nothing. I've been giving that excuse since freshman year. I know when someone is lying." Vic turned Kellin's face so they were looking at each other. "You can trust me." Could he really trust Vic? The other boy told him everything.
"My dad is back." Kellin said weakly. He threw himself into his boyfriend's arms. Tan strong arms protectively wrapped around him.
"What did he do?" Kellin pulled out of his arms and started head towards the window. Vic sat up, following the other boy's movements.
"Get dressed. I have to show you something."
"But-"
"It goes along with what I'm about to tell you." Kellin looked back at him with sad eyes. "I'll be on your porch." And he left. Vic quickly got dressed, throwing his hoodie on and hiding his hair behind a beanie. He ran down the stairs, past his parents, barging onto his porch. Kellin was standing there, looking out into the cloud sky, his hands deep in his leather jacket. He gave Vic a small smile as he offered his hand. Vic accepted. They walked in silence and finally after 5 minutes they were at the gates of the cemetery. Vic stopped.
"I-"
"Trust me." Kellin tugged on Vic's hand as he led them through the rows of tombstones. They stopped in front of one. Kellin sat down with his legs stretched in front of him and pulled Vic down so he was sitting between his legs. Vic gasped at the name on the tombstone: Lily Madison Bostwick. "Vic meet my sister." Kellin wrapped his arms around Vic's shoulders and brought him back to his chest. He couldn't cry.
"Hi Lily. I'm Vic." Kellin looked at Vic's face. The tan boy was smiling at the tombstone. "You have a really great brother but I guess you already know that. I'm so lucky to be able to call him my boyfriend. He's helped me get through some things."
"Vic." Kellin choked out.
"He doesn't know but that first day back-" Vic paused as he tried to swallow the lump in his throat. "I was only going to get my stuff so my parents didn't have to feel the heart ache. I was going to end it." Kellin felt tear make trails along his cheeks. "He saved my life. Anyways I really wish I had got to meet you."
"She would have loved you." Vic looked at Kellin. He had tears running down his face. Kellin pushed their lips together. Oh god. He felt that feeling deep in his stomach. He was in love with the shy Mexican boy in front of him. "But not as much as I do." Vic pushed Kellin's chest away. He brushed the tears off the pale boy's cheeks.
"What's wrong today? What's bad about your dad being back?" He avoided that little comment that was made. He wasn't ready to say he loved Kellin. It was only high school.
"My sister was going through so bad times. I was only 14 so I didn't really understand what was going on. I didn't understand 16 year old hormones. She use to harm herself but I thought she would just get over it. But I found out, my fath-" Kellin let a sob come out of his lips. Vic rubbed his arms lightly, comfortingly.
"It's okay. Go on." Kellin tightened his grip around the other teen's shoulders.
"My bastard of a father, when he had friend over, would let them take advantage of my sister. She never told me about it until she told me that she was pregnant." Vic gulped. "After she told me, we went to a center. To like you know, get rid of the baby. I was posing as her boyfriend. They said they couldn't do though. She was underage and need parents' permission. So we went back home." Kellin was now gazing at his sister's grave with a glazed over look.
"Kellin, what happened?" They were looking into each other's eyes. Kellin drew in a shaky breath.
"I wasn't strong enough Vic." More tears made their way out of those bright blue eyes. "About a week later she felt sick and didn't come to school. When I came home and went up to her room, she had just kicked the chair. I can still remember the sound of the rope tightening and her trying to breathe. When she looked at me her eyes told me this was a mistake. She realized she made the wrong decision." Kellin broke down, pushing his face in Vic's neck.
"It's okay. It's not your fault." Vic whispered. Kellin opened his mouth to reply. "If I had killed myself, would you blame yourself?" Kellin nodded. "Why?"
"Because I promised Oli I would watch over you."
"No Kels, it doesn't work that way. It's the person that makes the pain that should get the blame. You did nothing but help her." They were quiet for awhile.
"He left us after she died. He went away with his other family that he visits during his fake business trips. He blamed me for Lily then claimed that he never loved us."
"Why is he back?" Kellin shrugged.
"I don't know. He and his secretary have two kids together. He wants something. I just know it." Vic looked at Kellin. He looked so emotionless, just like in school.
"Thank you." Kellin pulled his eyebrows together, looking at Vic who was wiping tears off his cheeks.
"For what?"
"For trusting me enough to tell me what goes on in that pretty like head of yours." Kellin gave a little smile.
"Of course." He made their lips meet. It was soft, gentle. Neither boy wanted to make it any deeper.
"Let's go home." Vic watched Kellin tense. "You can come hang out at my house." He suggested as he got up, brushing dirt off his jeans. Kellin stood up next to him, grabbing his face and pulling him into another kiss.
"How did I get so lucky?" They finally pulled away, breathless.
"I could ask the same thing. Let's go." Vic laced their fingers together as they started walking back to their houses. Kellin felt so light after opening up to Vic. The boy even made him feel better. He had saved his boyfriend's life. This time the air between them was clear and as their houses started to come into view, they could be happier. That was before Vic saw the familiar platinum blonde hair.
"Amy?" They dropped hands as the girl turned her head. She gave a wide smile at Kellin. She ran down the steps and hugged him. Kellin pushed her away. "What are you doing here?"
"Your father wanted to meet your girlfriends so your mom called me." Vic felt like he was going to throw up. Amy was Kellin's girlfriend. Kellin explain that his mom knew their relationship and that he didn't keep anything from his mom.
"Um thanks for helping me. My mom will be really happy. I have to go." Vic went to run away but he was stopped by Kellin's hand on his forearm.
"Vic, I-"
"Save it!" Vic jerked away. "Go have fun with your girlfriend." Amy kissed Kellin on the cheek.
"Bye freak." Vic glared at Kellin as he walked away. They had managed to stay away from all this Amy bullshit. Well, apparently Kellin wasn't. He ran into his room and grabbed his phone, typing a quick text to Kevin. When he got a reply he was disappointed that he wasn't even home. Vic just needed to talk to someone but that wasn't going to happen.
Kellin glare at Amy. Why the hell was she here? He had been avoiding her and Jake.
"My mom called you?"
"Yes, I did." Kellin looked at his door to see mom standing there with his father's arm around her shoulders. His father smiled at Amy approvingly.
"Dad, Amy and I-"
"Are happily in love!" Amy interrupted him. "It's nice to finally meet his parents." She held out her hand and his father took it eagerly. Kellin locked eyes with his mother. She looked scared of her husband.
"Well please, come in." His father was wearing a white button up with a dark blue tie and black dress pants. He was the definition of professional. Everyone made their way into the modest house. Kellin grabbed his mother's hand and excused them to go and talk in private. His mom was a little mousy woman with dark hair but had the same eyes as her son.
"What the hell?"
"Kellin sweetheart, hear me out. I did this because you know how your father is with same sex relationships. I didn't want you or Vic to get hurt." Kellin gave a little scoff.
"Vic probably hates me right now." He sat down in the nearest chair and put his face in his hands.
"Why would he hate you?" She was rubbing small circles on her son's back.
"I told him that I tell you everything and I don't lie to you." She nodded, urging her son to continue. "Well, we were together when she said you called for dad to meet my girlfriend. He probably thinks I am cheating." She kneeled in front of Kellin and pulled his face up to look at her.
"Tell you what. Your father is leavin in a few minutes for work. We can kick Amy out and you can bring Vic over where I explain the situation. How about it?" Kellin hugge his mom.
"That would be great." Kellin's father walked into the room with Amy behind him.
"I have to go to work. Bye sweetheart." He glanced at his son. "Kellin." He nodded and left out the front door. Kellin started grinding his teeth together. God he hated that man so much. He looked towards Amy, giving her a fake smile.
"I'm sorry to ask this of you but can you leave. I would like to spend time with my mom." Amy smiled back.
"Of course." She went to give Kellin a kiss but he put up a hand to stop her. He motioned towards his mom. "Okay. I'll see you later then." Amy walked out of the Quinn's household.
"That was close. I have to go get Vic." Kellin ran up his stairs to his room. When he opened the door Vic was laying on his bed, curled up into a ball. He was sleeping. Kellin brushed a few strands of Vic's long brown hair from his face revealing tear tracks down his cheeks. "Vic?" He whispered and sat on the edge of the bed. Vic jumped, sitting straight up.
"I'm sorry. You were the only person I could talk to and I came to your room and fe-" Kellin silenced his ramblings by kissing him on the lips, hard. This time though Vic didn't relax into the kiss. Instead he was trying to pull away. Kellin released him.
"Don't." Vic glared at Kellin.
"It's not what it seems like."
"How do I know you're not lying?" They heard someone clear their throat. Mrs. Bostwick was standing in the doorway with a small smile on her face.
"I can assure you that it was a lie." She took the desk chair and placed it in front of the boys. As she sat down Vic was giving her a skeptical look. "I used Amy to make it look like Kellin was interested in women. My husband is not that great with same sex, well, anything." Vic looked between Kellin and his mother.
"I'm sorry." Kellin looked at the tan teen and saw tears coming into his eyes. He pulled Vic into his arms, kissing his cheek in the process.
"Don't apologize. It's okay. I see where you are coming from. I don't seem like a guy who would stay loyal." They chuckled. Kellin looked and found his mom was already gone. "You know what is the best thing to do?"
"What?"
"Kiss and make up." Vic giggled.
"You're such a child sometimes." Kellin kissed him, pushing him back on his back. Vic gasped as Kellin's cold hand met the skin under his shirt and the other boy slipped his tongue into his mouth. Vic quickly allowed Kellin to be dominant. He moaned as the pale boy bit his bottom lip.
"I think I like that noise falling from your lips." Kellin teased as he positioned himself so one leg was in between Vic's. He started rubbing his knee against Vic's groin.
"Kel-lin." Vic's breath hitched. The other boy started an assault on his neck. "Those just healed." He tilted his head back, giving more access.
"Too bad." Kellin whispered against the tan soft neck. Vic squirmed underneath his boyfriend. He reached for the hem of Kellin's shirt try to tug it off. He heard the other boy laugh. "What are you doing?"
"It's too hot." Kellin bit down on his collarbone causing him to arch his back and moan. "Please." He whispered.
"You have no idea what you do to me." Kellin pushed his jacket off of his shoulders.
"I think I can feel it." He laughed as he pulled Vic's hoodie off. He reconnected the kiss an didn't even wait for Vic's permission as he pushed his tongue in his mouth. He could get use to this. Sure the boys would having risky make out sessions in one of the school's more private places but they had never discarded clothing. Vic tugged at the bottom of Kellin's shirt. "Off. Now." He didn't mean to sound so commanding.
"Only if you take off yours." Kellin replied. They were interrupted by a throat clearing. Kellin jumped off of Vic and looked at the person at the door.
"Dad?"
