In Too Deep

Chapter 11

Kellin was over at Vic's house for the whole weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Fuentes were a little wary to him sleeping over but after they explain the situation (minus Vic's arms) they were gladly letting him stay. He was also suppose to stay in the guest room but the adults either found Vic curled into Kellin's bed or vice versa. They were always together; usually Vic was leaning on the paler boy. When it came to Monday morning, they were holding onto each other under Vic's giant black and white checkered comforter. Vic started coughing.
"Are you okay love?" Kellin put a hand to his boyfriend's forehead. He was burning up.
"I'm fine." Vic voice cracked. He sounded like he had been screaming all night, which had nothing to do with anything they were doing. "I feel like crap."
"You should stay home." Vic shook his head and Kellin watched as his brown hair fanned across the pillow. "You're sick. You are staying home." He sounded like a commanding father.
"Will you stay with me?" Kellin laughed.
"I thought you would be tired of me."
"I could never grow tired of you. Are you tired of me?" Kellin cupped the other teen's cheek lightly.
"Are you kidding me? You and Kevin are the only people I can stand." Vic raised an eyebrow.
"What about my friends or my brother?" Kellin shrugged, something Vic has noticed he does a lot.
"I like them but I don't really know them. And they can't compare to you." Vic leaned up, capturing Kellin's soft lips.
"You're a dork." He received a hum in response as Kellin made the kiss deeper. He moved so he was now hovering over the small, tan boy as he wrapped his arms around his neck. Kellin moved his hand to the hem of Vic's shirt, pushing it up to run his hands along his stomach. The bumps of Vic's scars were more apparent against Kellin's fingertips. Then without warning Vic's mom opened the door. She shielded her eyes as Kellin groaned and took his spot laying next to Vic.
"Well good morning boys. I really wish you guys would stay in your rooms." Vic rolled his eyes.
"Morning mama." Vic voice came out strained and scratchy. His mother rushed to his side checking his forehead with her hand. She started tsking at her son.
"You're sick and then you're kissing this boy. Do you want it to spread?" She started talking to Vic in Spanish and he easily replied. Kellin sat there with the most confused expression ever. He took Spanish but he pretty much flirted with the nerdy girl in his class to do his homework. "You are staying home and that's final." She turned on her heels and walked out of the room. Vic heaved a sigh of relief.
"What was she saying?" Vic started laughing.
"She pretty much gave me the sex talk again. She thinks the reason you have been in my bed lately is because I'm putting it out like a 'puta'." Kellin nodded slowly. "Puta means like a whore."
"I know that!" Kellin stated. He propped himself up on his elbow so he could look down at Vic who gave a quiet giggle.
"Sure you did." Kellin stuck out his bottom lip in a pout.
"You're mean." Vic started to play with Kellin's hair.
"But you like me for it." Kellin leaned down to Vic's ear.
"No." He placed a kiss on the other boy's jaw line. "I love you."
"You're going to keep saying that, aren't you?"
"Until you believe it." Kellin pulled Vic to his chest. "I love you, I love you." He was kissing Vic's cheek, slowly getting closer to his lips. With one final I love you he kissed him as softly as possible. It soon turned into something more as Vic tugged at the bottom of Kellin's shirt.
"Off." Vic ordered. Kellin shook his head, pulling out of the kiss.
"Nope." He popped the 'p'.
"What? Why?" Vic started pouting.
"Because your family could walk in at any moment. Me on top of you, shirtless, is something they don't need to see." Kellin watched as Vic coughed. "And you're sick with a fever."
"Well you're suppose to sweat a fever out." Vic stated nonchalantly. Kellin raised an eyebrow.
"What happened to that innocent 17 year old I met?" Vic scoffed.
"You corrupted him."
"I didn't expect you to become a sex crazed teenager."
"I'm not sex crazed!" Vic gave Kellin a light shove on his shoulder. Kellin put his hand at the waistband of the tan boy's pj bottoms.
"So you've never thought about it." He slipped his fingers in and Vic took a sharp intake of breath. "When we are alone."
"Kellin."
"Vic?" Kellin feigned innocence but pull his hand away. "You're such a buzzkill." Vic frowned.
"I'm not a buzzkill." He sounded like a young child.
"I know you aren't sweetheart." He wrapped his arms around Kellin's midsection as his actions were mimicked. "What do you want to do today?" Vic shrugged.
"Don't know. What do you want to do?" Kellin rolled his eyes. He jumped out of the bed, heading over to Vic's closet.
"Can I borrow some clothes?" Vic propped himself up on both elbows, admiring his boyfriend taking off his shirt.
"Where are we going?" Kellin walked back taking the tan boy's face in his hands and kissing him. "We're going on a date." Vic gave him a big smile.
"Like out in public?" Kellin gave him a 'duh' look. "This will be my first date. I just- I'm so happy."
"I'm glad you are. I love your smile." Kellin put their lips back together. Vic started to pull the pale boy on top of him. "No. Get dressed."
"Help me." He fake coughed. "I'm sick." Kellin couldn't help by laugh.
"If we are talking about clothes, I only want to help take them off." Kellin watched as a blush spread across Vic's cheeks. "What's wrong? Can't take the heat?" There was a knock at the door and Kellin made his way over to Vic's bathroom.
"It's open." Vic said in a small voice. Mr. and Mrs. Fuentes opened the door, revealing their son sitting up in his bed. He looked uncomfortable with a small red tint to his cheek.
"Goodbye Victor." His mother smiled at him. "Take your medicine and stay indoors." Vic smiled at his mom. Kellin came out of the bathroom fully dressed and smiled at Vic's parents.
"Goodbye Vic, Kellin." Mr. Fuentes gave his son a warning look as his parents left for work. Kellin pulled Vic up by the arms and the sheets pooled around his feet.
"Fine. I'm getting dressed." Vic made his way into the bathroom to change into his clothes. He probably shouldn't be doing this. His throat feels like someone dug their nails in it. He looked at the bandage on his arm, pulling it off, and throwing it in the trash can. He looked at the new scabs that marked his skin. It was just so tempting to scratch them for release. He pulled on a pair of dark blue skinnies and a plain black T-shirt.
"Have you seen my hoodie?" He came out of the bathroom to find Kellin sitting on the bed with his legs crossed.
"Yeah it's on your dresser." Vic grabbed his hoodie and pulled it over his head. He ran his finger through his hair and started to look for his beanie. "I don't want you covering your face so I hid your beanie."
"Where are you taking me?" The boys made their way down the stairs, out the front door, and walked towards Kellin's car. He was one of the lucky kids that were able to get a brand new car. Vic didn't even know what type of car it was, all he knew was that it was expensive. Kellin opened the door for Vic to get in. He leaned over and gave him a quick kiss. Once they were both in with seat belts on, Kellin started the engine. "You still haven't given me an answer."
"Well maybe it's a surprise." Twenty minutes later they were at the mall. Kellin laced their fingers together as the automatic doors opened for them. He led them over to the movie theater.
"A movie?" Vic raised an eyebrow.
"You can never go wrong with the classics."
"Are you going to yawn and put your arm around my shoulders too?" Kellin paid for the tickets.
"Well not anymore. You gave it away. Do you want popcorn?" Vic shook his head. He didn't feel like getting stomach ache. "Come on then."
"Is this a scary movie?" Kellin shrugged, trying to suppress the smile that was pulling at the corner of his lips. "It is isn't it? Damnit Kellin, I hate scary movies. Fuck you!" He pushed Vic into the showing room, pushing him up against the nearest wall.
"You would." He winked and left Vic to find a seat. The tan boy felt like every part of his body on fire. It may just be the fever talking. "Come here Vic." Kellin was excitedly patting the seat next to him. Vic rolled his eyes and took the seat next to him.
"You're such a child."
"I'm not the one that's afraid of scary movies."
"Shut up." Vic whispered as he put his head against Kellin's firm shoulder. The movie started on the screen. Kellin watched in amusement when every time something jumped out Vic was hiding his face in the pale boy's neck.
"Come here." Kellin pulled the arm rest up so there was nothing keeping them apart. He slung Vic's legs over his lap, pulling him so he was practically sitting on his lap.
"What are you doing?"
"Relax. I just want to be closer to you." Vic narrowed his eyes and shifted so he was comfortable. He didn't trust Kellin right now. Scary movies are usually a time when dates are taken advantage of. Soon enough Kellin's finger was drawing patterns on his upper thigh. He ignored it but felt his hand getting closer until it ghost over his crotch. He jumped.
"What do you think you're doing?" Kellin smirked.
"I'm not doing anything." He put his hands between Vic's thighs.
"Bullshit!" Kellin pushed Vic onto his back on the chair, placing himself in between his legs.
"I'm not doing anything you don't want me to do."
"Maybe I don't want you to." Vic swallowed the lump in his throat. He was totally lying.
"Hm, your eyes are telling me a different story. Not to mention how your body is reacting." His head became dizzy as Kellin started an assault on his neck. The rational part of Vic's brain was claiming that anybody could walk in at any moment but then of course logic stepped in. They were already halfway through the movie and still all alone in the theater. He was saved by the sound of Kellin's phone going off. The other boy groaned and answered his phone.
"Hey Kevin." Vic crawled out from under his body, sitting himself upright in the seat. "Yeah, I'll put you on speaker."
"Where are you guys?!" The boys jumped as Kevin's voice came through the speakers.
"Vic had a fever so I stayed home to take care of him. Why? What happened?"
"Amy is spreading rumors that she's pregnant and it's yours. Dude, Vic, your friends are looking to kick Kellin's ass." Vic looked over at Kellin. His face was scrunched up in concentration.
"That's impossible. I haven't hooked up with her for 3 months. I didn't talk to anybody but you during our break." Vic rubbed Kellin's hand comfortingly. He smiled at the tan boy. There was no doubt in his mind that he would do anything to keep Vic in his life.
"What are my friends doing?" Kellin looked over at Vic. He looked worried.
"I think they thought Kellin went to school today because they are always waiting outside the classroom he has. They look pissed, especially your brother." Vic nodded, leaning back in his seat. A crash came from the movie on screen. "What the fuck was that?"
"I brought Vic to the movies."
"You never bring anyone on dates. He must be something special." Kellin felt his face turn bright red as he avoided Vic's gaze.
"You're still on speaker." He mumbled out. Vic just sat there, looking at Kellin with a dropped jaw. He never takes anyone on dates. That makes the shy boy special. Vic felt his heart swell.
"Oh shit! Sorry. Bye guys." The line went dead. Kellin stood up from his seat.
"Come on. Let's go walk around." Vic sat up, slipping his fingers into Kellin's. Maybe saying 'I love you' wouldn't be a bad thing. The rational part of Vic's brain screamed 'You have only been with him for about three weeks! Are you an idiot?'. The romantic side of his brain said 'What have you got to lose?' And then that one part that always brought Vic to harm whispered 'Look at yourself. No one could ever love a freak like you. You're damaged goods and nobody wants those'.
"Kellin?" They we walking through the near empty mall, looking at all of the stores. Kellin hummed his acknowledgment. "Why do you want to be with me?" He stopped and looked over at the tan boy. Vic was looking at the ground trying to keep tears from spilling out. "I mean I have all these nasty scars, I killed my best friend, and I can't even say I love you because I'm afraid that as soon as I do you'll leave me. How could you love someone like me?" Vic now had tears falling down his face.
"You're real."
"What?" Vic looked up at Kellin. He was staring in the waters of the fountain they had stopped in front of.
"Sure you have scars on your body but it shows all the battles you've been through. The battles you've won. And you didn't kill Oli. Remember when you told me the blame goes on the person who hurt them. It wasn't me and it certainly wasn't you." Kellin cupped Vic's face in his hand as he wiped away his tears. "And if you tell me you love me, the only thing I will do is say it back. From now on to eternity. I will always love you Vic. Even if you leave me." Vic moved his face forward, connecting their lips. To Kellin it felt different. Vic pulled away looking into those pale blues eyes he wanted to see every day.
"I love you." The shy boy whispered against his lips. Kellin smiled and pulled Vic into another kiss. That's why it was different. Both of them realized their feelings for one another.
"I love you too."
