In Too Deep

Chapter 18

After Vic talked Kellin into giving him the keys and he drove both of them home. Not a word was said the whole ride there. Vic glanced at the clock on the dash board. It was only noon. He pulled into the driveway.
"Vic?" He looked over at Kellin. The pale boy was curled up in a ball in the passager seat. He looked so weak as he looked up at Vic with sad blue eyes. "Are you going to leave me?"
"Did you mean all those things?" Kellin sat up.
"God no. I wasn't myself back there. What did you even say?" Vic swallowed.
"Some really regrettable things that were just in the moment." He unbuckled his seatbelt. "I would never mean anything bad I said to you." Kellin grabbed Vic's chin and pulled him into a kiss.
"I love you."
"I lov-" The tan boy's words were cut off by a knock on the window. Mr. Bostwick's knuckles were against the car as he waited for his son to get out. When both boys did he motioned them to follow inside. Kellin lightly pulled Vic behind him as they made their way to the kitchen, sitting at the little bar stools by the island counter.
"So you're moving in with me." Mr. Bostwick stated firmly. Vic grabbed Kellin's hand underneath the counter. He couldn't lose his boyfriend.
"What?! No way."
"I'm your last parent figure. Until you are 18 you have no say in what I do with you."
"What about school? I have my friends and football." And Vic, Kellin mentally added. He couldn't leave Vic behind after they just got into a relationship almost two months ago.
"You'll still be attending the same school but you will be moved in with Sarah and I on the more suitable part of town." He knew what suitable meant. He was going to be living in a mansion near Amy and Jake. He would be so far away from Vic.
"Who the fuck is Sarah?" Mr. Bostwick straightened his tie.
"She is my wife."
"What the hell?! I thought you and mo-"
"We got a divorce right after your whore of a sister killed herself." Kellin's grip on Vic's hand tightened.
"She was only a whore because you let people take advantage of her. She wasn't even a whore. She was a victim. A victim of your bad parenting." Mr. Bostwick slammed his fist against the table, startling Vic.
"Pack your stuff. I'll get you Saturday." Then he left the room, leaving the couple to sit there.
"Kellin..." Kellin looked over at Vic who was staring at their hands. "I don't want you moving in with him."
"I don't either but-"
"No you don't understand." He gave the tan boy a look of confusion. "I think he's going to hurt you." Vic slid off the stool to stand between Kellin's legs. "I don't want to see you get hurt. I'm afraid you're going to be miserable. I want you to happy." He brushed a few stray pieces of hair away so he could look into those beautiful blue eyes. Kellin snaked his arms around Vic's waist bringing him closer so the tips of their noses were touching.
"As long as you're still with me, I'll be happy till the end of time. I will love you till the world ends. And even then I'll get to spend forever in your arms."
"I'm so sorry Kellin." He knew what the other boy was talking about. His mom. Vic knew that Kellin on the inside was screaming out that he was in pain but after years of hiding his true feelings, he's learned to keep it cool on the outside. "Please don't hide yourself from me." Kellin broke down. He hid his face in the crook of Vic's neck and cried more than ever. He cried because of his sister. He cried for his mom. And he cried because the thought of being taken away from Vic scared him. He had never been this dependent on someone. He had never had someone be dependent on him.
"I-I'm afraid-d, Vic." Vic started rubbing his hands in small circles around Kellin's back. "I'm afraid we won't make it." The pale boy whispered against Vic's skin.
"We can try. I can't promise anything." Kellin pulled away, laughing when he saw Vic's shirt. It was drench at the collar where he had been crying.
"I'm sorry." Vic smiled.
"It's fine. Are you a little better?"
"A little bit." Kellin returned the smile with his own sad one. "What did it have to be my mom? Why couldn't it have been my dad? And why was he even here if he had his wife? I'm just confused." Vic's hand ran down Kellin's arm. "Come to bed with me."
"But your dad."
"I don't care. I just need to sleep." Kellin pecked Vic's lips. "And I need my teddy bear." Vic laughed as Kellin led him to the bedroom. He shut the door and Kellin crawled into the bed under the sheets. Kellin groaned. "Remind me no more floor sex."
"You weren't the one on the floor. Why are you complaining?" He madding grabby hands at Vic to which the boy responded by curling up to his side.
"I had to fall asleep on that floor."
"Oh boo-hoo." Kellin laughed. He ran his fingers across Vic's cheek. He love just laying like this. Vic on his chest, arms wrapped around his neck, and both of their legs tangled together.
"Are we going to talk about that fight?" Kellin whispered.
"What do you want to say about it?"
"You were legitly mad. You changed languages. I-I...." He paused trying to word his sentence carefully. "I thought you were goin to break up with me. And when you left to get water, I was afraid you were going to hurt yourself."
"I've been clean for almost two months now. I miss it, I really do." Kellin frowned. Vic put their hands together comparing the sizes before Kellin laced them together. "But I love you more. If I ever did it again, I would think I wasn't good enough for you."
"Everyone slips up. You are allowed that." Kellin yawned. "You'll always be good enough for me. You're my love." Vic laughed.
"I love you."
"There are no words to describe what I truly feel for you. I guess I love you is okay." Vic smiled. He could feel the rumble of Kellin's voice as it traveled through his body. "You're the only thing that's keeping me happy."
"Sleep Cariño. You need it right now."
"Will you be here when I wake?"
"I'll always be here for you."

*A few hours later*

"Mom I had a good reason not to go to school today." Kellin opened his eyes to see his boyfriend on the edge of the bed on the phone. Vic had his elbow resting on his knee and was pinching the bridge of his nose. "No it's not that Kellin is a bad influence. Su madre murió hoy." Kellin could hear Mrs. Fuentes reaction. "Mom I have to go. I dont know if I'll be home tonight but I promise I'll go to school tomorrow. I love you. Bye." Vic hit the end call button. He sighed and hid his face in his hands. Things couldn't get any worst for Kellin right now.
"What's wrong?" He jumped, looking back at Kellin who's blue eyes were sparkling with curiosity. Vic crawled over, propping himself above the pale boy.
"My mom claims you're a bad influence." Kellin wrapped his arms around the other boy's neck.
"Hm, really?"
"Yep." Vic popped the 'p'. He kissed the Kellin as softly as possible.
"You should go home tonight."
"No. I'm not leaving you alone."
"What time is it?" Vic pushed Kellin's fringe away from his forehead. He place a little kiss there.
"You've been asleep for five hours."
"What woke you up?" He let out a nervous laugh.
"Your dad slamming the front door. Scared the shit out of me." Kellin smiled, showing his perfect white teeth.
"Why so jumpy?" He teased. He flipped both of them over so he was pinning Vic against the mattress. Vic didn't like the fact that Kellin was completely ignoring the fact that his mom died just hours ago. Kellin started marking the tan boy on the neck.
"Kellin stop."
"Why?" Vic swallowed as he felt the pale boy's breath.
"Because it feels wrong." Kellin ignored him, continuing his assault. Vic pushed against his shoulder. "S-stop." He was ignored again as Kellin's hand went under his shirt. "God damn it! Kellin stop!" He pushed the other boy off of him, pushing his back up against the headboard. He brought his knees to his chest. Kellin snapped back into reality, looking over at Vic.
"I'm sorry." He hated seeing Vic look at him carefully, just like in the hallways at school. Vic was watching Kellin right now like he watches Jake. With fear. Kellin sat up on his knees, reaching a hand torwards Vic's arms that were wrapped around his legs.
"You can't hide yourself like this. You're ignoring this and it's going to come back and bite you in the ass. I need to know what you're feeling."
"I feel dead." Vic snapped his head up to look at Kellin. His normal shine that is in his eyes was dull. "But you make me feel alive. You should go home tonight. Get some sleep and go to school tomorrow. I'm not going."
"I can stay."
"No I'm going to start packing and I'll need tomorrow as well."
"I can help." Kellin framed the tan boy's face with his hands, leaning forward to kiss him lightly on the lips.
"Thank you but you promised your mom you would go to school. I want you to get good grades. I can always flirt with the teachers and my grade will go up." He pulled them both off the bed. "I'll walk you home. Come on." They walked slowly, fingers intwind together. Mrs. Fuentes was on the porch watching the couple.
"Kellin, sweetheart, do you want to stay for dinner?" Kellin looked over at Vic who just had a small smile.
"I mean I that's okay with you. I wouldn't want to intrude on-"
"Oh nonsense. It's the least I can do for making my son so happy."
"Mom." Kellin watched as a small blush came over those tan features. He kissed Vic's cheek.
"Aw I make you happy."
"Shut up."
"No. If it helps you make me happy too."
"Come on love birds. Time to eat." Vic pulled Kellin behind him, bringing him into the warm home. Kellin noted the smell of cinnamon that hung in the air. This home just felt so inviting. They walked into the kitchen and Kellin was surprised to see an extra plate already sitting out for him. He looked over at Mrs. Fuentes. She was smiling warmly at him. "I figured Vic would bring you over for dinner." Mike ran down the stairs stopping short when he saw Kellin. Mrs. Fuentes had explained that Kellin's mom was no longer alive and that they shouldnt bring it up.
"Hey, guys." He smiled to his brother and his boyfriend.
"Michael get your father." Mike nodded and went off to their dad's study.
"What does your dad do?" Kellin asked as he sat down at the table. Vic slid into the seat next to him.
"My parents own that little Mexican resultant in town."
"Really?!" Mike and Mr. Fuentes took their seats. "That place is amazing."
"I'm glad you like it. Vic here was our best chief."
"Dad. Stop." Vic covered his face.
"Why'd you stop?"
"The whole Oli thing. I just needed a break." He uncovered his face and started playing with his rice. Kellin reached for the glass water, bringing it to his lips.
"Vic did you come home last night?" He choked on his water. Vic's face turned a bright red at his father's question.
"No." Mike started smiling.
"What did you guys do?" Mrs. Fuentes cut in. Kellin glanced over at Vic, who was looking at his lap. He leave back in his chair as causally as possible.
"We watched some scary movies."
"What were the titles of said movies?" Mike grinned.
"Paranormal activity and Wrong Turn." Vic whispered. He still wasn't going to look up. His face would be a dead give away.
"Oh." Mike looked between his brother and Kellin. Their tense posture was a the final clue. "You guys had sex!"
"N-no!" Vic said defensively.
"I knew it!"
"Victor Vincent Fuentes!" His mom smacked his arm. "Pensé que me dijo nada de sexo en esta casa."
"Technically, he wasn't in this house." Mrs. Fuentes glared at her younger son. Kellin tapped his fingers on the table lightly. She turned to him.
"Y Usted corrompido mi bebé!" Mr. Fuentes put his hand on top of his wife's.
"Ahora, querida, Vic no es un niño. Él tiene el derecho de hacer lo que le plazca." He looked over at Kellin through his reading glasses. "I will talk to you after we finish dinner."
"Papá, ahora no es el mejor momento." Vic pleaded. His father shook his head. Kellin could tell by Vic's slumped shoulders that Mr. Fuentes had won. The rest of the dinner was spent by Mike joking around with everyone. Kellin liked the feeling he got from all of them. Even though the parents found out something bad at dinner, they continued as if nothing happened. When he had dinner with his mom and dad, his father would find a reason to storm off. He felt someone lace their fingers with his. He put his gaze on Vic. He was joking around with his mother as the biggest smile graced his lips. Kellin squeezed his hand lightly and they locked eyes. He would never get tired of Vic's eyes as gold mixed with brown. The tan boy leaned over to his ear. "I love you." Kellin kissed his cheek.
"I love you too." Mike kicked his brother under the table.
"Dude, not during dinner. I have to deal with both you and Tony at lunch."
"Vic help your mom clean up. Kellin..come with me to my study." Kellin squeezed Vic's hand nervously and followed Mr. Fuentes. The older man sat at the desk and motioned Kellin to take the seat in front of him. "You make my son very happy. I wanted to thank you for making his cuts disappear." Kellin's eyes widened.
"You knew that."
"Of course. I'm not stupid. Just like I could tell that you two had sex because of Vic's little limp." Kellin blushed. "You mean a lot to him and I'm hoping he means a lot to you."
"He means the world to me."
"I want to make sure you're in this for the right reasons."
"To be totally honest sir...." Kellin scratched the back of his head. "I would marry your son right after high school. I mean if I could but you know with all of laws." Mr. Fuentes leaned back in his seat, playing with his hands.
"You wouldn't be a bad son in law." Kellin felt a smile spread across his face. "Thank you for saving my son's life."
"He's the best thing that has happened to me." Mr. Fuentes stuck his hand out for Kellin to shake. He gladly accept the offer.
"Welcome to the family Kellin."
