Chapter 3

"Have you been waiting out here long?" Kellin jumped. He turned around to see Vic standing there in a black hoodie with black skinny jeans and light blue converse. He looked so normal. At a regular glance Vic would look like in kid who walks around on the street but Kellin knew better. He heard a scoff behind Vic and saw his younger brother glaring daggers at Kellin. The younger boy was intimidating even if he was a sophomore and Kellin was a junior.
"Uh no it's okay. I just got out early. I didn't really want to deal with my mom." Kellin shrugged his shoulders. Mike gave a dry laugh.
"Aw poor little rich boy having family troubles. Boo hoo, Kellin." Vic spun around and hit his brother on the shoulder. Kellin started grinding his teeth together.
"Mike! Shut the fuck up!" Vic was burning holes in his brother's eyes as he yelled the words. Vic was so pissed that his brother would say something like that. He turned around to look at Kellin. He looked so tense. Okay Vic keep it in the back of your mind to never ask about family. Vic started to put his hand forward to hold Kellin's in comfort but he was interrupted.
"Hey guys." Jaime yelled running across the street with Tony on his heels. His usual blown back hair was hidden underneath a beanie and he had his giant smile on his face. Vic noticed the smile falter when Jaime and Tony joined the group of boys on the sidewalk. "Uh, what's Kellin doing here?" Mike gave Vic a little nudge.
"Lover boy here is walking to school with his boyfriend." Mike chuckled at his words. Vic and Kellin both turned a deep shade of red as Jaime and Tony exchanged smiles.
"Mike! He is not my boyfriend. H-he's m-my...." Vic looked at Kellin for help. The blush, unlike on Vic's tan features, was obvious on Kellin's pale white cheeks. Kellin shifted on his feet. What were Vic and him? Friends? Acquaintances? Kellin scratched the back of his head as everyone eyes were on him. The way Vic almost held his hand before they were rudely interrupted by the kid with the big smile and the quiet on with a snapback on, it warmed Kellin's heart. "Kellin?"
"Friends." He looked up to notice their shocked faces. "I-I mean if that's alright with you?" Kellin looked towards Vic. It looked like the boy was going to burst out laughing but he just let a small smile play on his lips. Kellin snuck his hand out to brush against Vic's cheek. The other three boys gasped as Vic smack Kellin's hand. Vic's hands shot to his mouth as he gasped.
"Um, let's go guys. Let these guys talk. We are going to be late." Jaime started shoving Tony and Mike away from the two boys. Tony gave Vic a little wave before turning forward, walking towards the school.
"Dude we still have ten minutes until the stupid return to school pep rally!" Tony smacked Mike upside the head. He motioned his hands between Vic and Kellin.
"Shut up." Tony whispered. Mike threw his hands up in the air and mutter a sassy 'whatever' before walking on without Vic and Kellin. Kellin laughed at the exchange that happened between the friends. His attention turned back to Vic who looked like he was going to burst into tears.
"Woah, Vic. What's wrong?" Kellin had concern laced in his voice.
"I'm sorry."Vic whispered.
"What are you sorry for?" Kellin pulled his eyebrows together in confusion.
"I smacked your hand away. I didn't mean to. It's just a reflex for me lately and I never me-" Kellin's laugh cut him short. He motioned for them to start walking.
"I don't think I could ever be angry with you Vic. Well I could but.." Kellin paused his words and quickened his stride. Vic ran forward a little bit so his and Kellin's shoulders were in line. "So... I'm your boyfriend?" Vic rolled his eyes.
"Don't try and distract me. What did you mean by that?" Vic noticed that Kellin was avoiding his gaze and question. Vic looked in front of them where the school gates and Vic's friends were coming into view. "Maybe we should spl-"
"Why do you do it?' Kellin blurted out. Vic stopped in his tracks, fixing Kellin with a confused gaze. Kellin stepped forward making it so that Vic could feel Kellin's breath on his lips. He glanced at his lips then back to his eyes. He was so distracted by the thought of Kellin's soft lips on his that he didn't even feel him lift up his shirt and hoodie. Vic did feel Kellin's cold fingers rub against the rising bumps along his hips. He pushed the other boy away with all his strength.
"WHAT THE FUCK?" Everyone that was once ignoring them and walking into the school now turned their gaze to the two teenagers. Vic glared at Kellin while tucking his clothes back into place. If looks could kill, Kellin would be dead. Not only by Vic but by his friends who ran to his side after screaming out. Kellin reached out towards Vic but he flinched away from his touch. Vic didn't want to look at Kellin's face. He looked so hurt because Vic's actions.
"Vic. I didn't me-"
"Kellin, baby!" Amy's shrill voice rang through the quiet entrance way. She flung herself at Kellin and he had no choice but to wrap his arms around her. "Why didn't you call me? I missed you." Kellin locked eyes with Vic. He untangled himself from Amy still keeping Vic in a steady gaze.
"I've been busy." Kellin muttered. Vic rolled his eyes and held back a scoff. He had not seen Kellin the whole time their school was on break. It actually seem as if Kellin way going out of his way to avoid the tan male. Amy noticed Kellin's gaze and turned towards Vic.
"Do you need something, freak?" Vic scoffed.
"Not anymore." Vic gave Kellin one last glare before making his way towards the open gym doors. Kellin was such a- urg. Vic couldn't believe he fell for that nice guy act that Kellin was putting out. He felt like such a fool but there was a little voice in the back of his head saying that if Oli use to be friends with Kellin, there has to be something good about him.
"He hates me." Kellin watched as Vic walked into the big double doors with his friends. He felt Jake put an arm around his shoulders.
"What do you need freak for?" Kellin swallowed. He wanted nothing more than to punch his friend in the face. He had to keep up with his image though so he needed to quickly come up with a lie to why he was hanging around Vic.
"Um. After the whole shooting thing, since we are neighbors, our parents started talking. Pretty much what's happening is he is helping with my homework and other shit." Kellin added a bored tone to his voice. Jake smacked his back hard as they made their way towards the gym doors.
"So let me guess," Their friend Kevin, who was muscular blonde, cut in. "You are pretty much are going to flirt with him so he does your homework?" Kellin thought about it for awhile.
"Pretty much." He said with a sly smirk. His friend didn't need to know that Kellin would be flirting voluntarily. As Kellin pushed through the kids front of the doors an instantly started looking for Vic. "Bingo!" He spotted Vic at the top of the bleachers in the very corner. Oh how convient. The spot next to Vic was empty.
"What?" Amy asked pulling on his arm. He pointed towards Vic. Amy's face twisted in disgust.
"I have to go get suck up points." He motioned to the three people he usually hangs around. "That means you guys have to stay away when I'm with Vic. Got it?" They all nodded. Kellin went to move away but Amy grabbed his arm and whirled him around into a sloppy kiss. She tasted like makeup and cigarettes.
"I'll miss you." All Kellin could do was nod. He felt sick to his stomach. He quickly ran over to Vic and plopped down on the bench before he could complain. All the conversation in the group came to a hush as they all turned their attention to Vic. Vic was looking at him with wide brown eyes. That's when Kellin noticed that Vic's eyes were more than brown. They had little flecks of gold mixed in.
"What are you doing?" Kellin shrugged at Vic's question. He heard the others return to their other conversation. "Why aren't you sitting with your friends? Or better yet your girlfriend?"
"They're assholes. And she, frankly, is a whore." Kellin watch as Vic's mouth dropped. Someone else sat in the row Vic and Kellin were in so they had to sit so their thighs were touching.
"I can't believe you would say that about your girlfriend!" Vic gave Kellin a scolding look.
"We never actually officially became girlfriend and boyfriend. It was more of people saying 'Yep they look good to each other'. That and it doesn't help I slept with her." He felt Vic tense next to him.
"So you're not a virgin?" Kellin laughed and shook his head. "What does it feel like to kiss someone?" Vic's question caused the laughter to die from Kellin's lips. Vic really couldn't be- no he couldn't.
"Vic are you a virgin?" A few people turned to see who was talking.
"Will you lower your voice?!" Vic leaned in a little bit so he could whisper-yell at him. Vic looked so embarrassed. Kellin wrapped his arm around Vic's waist to bring him so his ear was in line with Kellin's lips. "W-what are y-you d-doing?" Vic's heart was hammering in his chest. All he had to do was turn his head and their lips would meet. He could feel Kellin's breath blowing on his ear and traveling down his neck. Vic should be freaking out right now because the amount of contact but it was just so comforting. Kellin placed a kiss on Vic's jawline.
"Have you ever been kissed Vic?" Vic swallowed the lump in his throat and shook his head. Kellin then placed a kiss underneath his ear. "Seventeen and never been kissed. That's rare now-a-days." Vic bit his lip.
"What about the people around us?" Vic was surprised he said that without stuttering. Kellin shrugged again. Vic felt the arms tighten around his waist. Vic put his hands in his hoodie pocket. Kellin placed another kiss under the last causing Vic to shutter. Why are his friends not saying anything? He feels as if he is in a dream. Kellin brushed his lips along side the side of Vic's neck. His skin was soft. He couldn't see how this boy hadn't already had his first kiss. He was remarkable.
"I change that Vic." Kellin murmured against his skin.
"Please don't tempt me." Okay, that was a little bold for Vic to say but it was what he was thinking about. Kellin place another kiss and another going up Vic's neck. "S-stop it-t." Kellin paused the assault on his neck and grabbed his chin turning so they were staring into each others eyes. Kellin's eyes were beautiful. They look like it they were cool blue diamonds.
"Do you really want me to stop?" Kellin started searching Vic's face. It certainly didn't look like Vic wanted him to stop. He wanted to be able to taste Vic whenever he wanted. "Because if you want, I can stop." Kellin went to pull away but Vic shot out his hands from his pocket. He grabbed Kellin keeping him so their lips were still inches apart. He had to admit Vic being this bold was a turn on.
"I didn't say no." Kellin smiled.
"Does that mean you want to kiss me?" Kellin put their foreheads together. Vic loosened the grip on Kellin's blue t-shirt and placed his arms around his neck. Did he want to kiss Kellin? It wouldn't be a bad kiss. Kellin was being really nice lately. The rational part of Vic's brain was screaming saying that he just started talking to Kellin. His body wasn't agreeing though. He started nodding. "No. I need you to say it. I'm not doing this unless you want me to." Kellin felt Vic start shaking. He tightened his grip around around the tan teen's waist and placed a hand on his cheek. He was so pale compared to Vic's soft cheek. He glanced at his lips then back to his eyes.
"I want you to kiss me Kellin." Vic's word sent a chill down his spine. Kellin started to lean in, closing the gap between them. They were only centimeters apart, Vic was going to be Kellin's to take.
"Oh my god!" Vic snapped back to reality when Jaime's voice cut through them. He pushed Kellin's face from his and looked towards his best friends. Jaime's face was bright red but still held its normal smile. His brother was glaring at him and Tony was just looking between the two teens. "Were you guys about to-" Mike hit Jaime in the shoulder.
"Like my brother would kiss Quinn!" Kellin frowned at Mike's words. Tony gave a small laugh.
"That would be why Vic specifically asked him to." Kellin looked towards Vic to noticed his whole face was red. He gave a reassuring squeeze to Vic's hips that he has yet to remove. Vic winced in pain and started pulling his beanie over his face. How could this get any worst? Kellin tugged the beanie off Vic's hair watching the brown locks pull up then return in the rightful place.
"Kellin fucking Quinn!" Vic shouted as he jumped on Kellin to get his beanie back. He extended his arm so Vic couldn't reach.
"Victor fucking Fuentes!" Kellin started laughing. "You shouldn't hide your face. You're too cute for that." Kellin kissed Vic's cheek. He gave him back his beanie as the principle walked into the center right where the logo for the school was.
"Why did you do that?" Vic whispered and Kellin shrugged. Vic notices he does that a lot. Kellin pulled him closer with the arm that was still wrapped tightly around his waist.
"Maybe cause I wanted to." Vic shook his head at Kellin's words. Again there was no way that Kellin would be interested in a boy like him unless he was playing him. Kellin frowned, leaning in to whisper in his ear. "I meant it Vic. I really wanted to kiss you." Vic felt his whole body go hot with embarrassment. Both teens tuned back into the principle's speech. He talked about going back to regular classes, school rules, grief councilors, and football practices will be starting over again. Then he started talking about Oli an Kellin looked over to see Vic paled considerably.
"What that boy did in front of the whole school was unacceptable. That was a monstrous act." Vic felt his blood boiling. Tony put a hand on his knee and Kellin pulled Vic to his chest. Jaime was trying to keep Mike from running up and socking the principle. "That boy was unstable and a threat to society. God will not allow him into heaven. He was a blotch on this world." Vic pulled himself from Kellin's grasp, grabbed a football from the kid next to him, and threw it at the principle hitting him in the nose. Kellin quickly pulled Vic back into his arms so he wouldn't get caught. Vic pushed him away.
"It's okay. Calm down." Tony murmured as he started tracing patterns on Vic's knee. He pulled away from Tony's touch.
"Don't touch me!" He spat out the words.
"Who was that?!" The principle screamed as blood gushed out of his nose. The kid that Vic stole the football from raised his hand. Kellin put a firm grip on the kids arm and gave him a death glare. The kid had nothing but fear in his eyes.
"If you give him away, I will make sure your life is hell. Do you understand me." The kid gulped but nodded. When Kellin went back to his old position, Vic and his friends were staring with wide eyes and open mouths. "What?" Kellin asked innocently.
"No one has stood up for us before." The quiet boy stated. Did he have a micro-dermal piercing? Oh well. "I'm Tony." He smiled.
"I'm Jaime. Spelled J-a-i-m-e." he smiled as well. Kellin returned both of their gestures as he looked at Mike.
"Maybe your not so bad Qu-uh- Kellin." Mike made no move to smile. Eh, it was good enough. The principle raged on in the background. He turned towards Vic who was playing with his hands. Vic whispered a shy 'thank you'. Everyone one of them turned to the principle who was blaming a kid in the front row. Kellin notice Vic kept glance at him from the corner of his eye. They all stood up as they were being dismissed. Should he do it? This would be Vic's last opportunity. He leaned over kissing Kellin's soft, pale cheek. Kellin's hand flew to the spot as he turned to Vic with shock. Vic had an amused look in his eyes.
"What was that for?" Kellin echoed Vic's earlier question. Vic smiled, a real beautiful smile, that had his perfect white teeth. Kellin felt his heart swell at the sight. Vic shrugged.
"Maybe because I wanted to." Vic mimicked. That's when Kellin realized Vic was teasing him. He was joking around. Vic ran down the bleachers disappearing in the crowd of teenagers. Jaime and Tony put a hand on each shoulder as Mike stood in front of him. Kellin gave them a sheepish smile.
"You better not hurt him. He's had enough of that." Mike looked longingly where his brother disappeared.
"That's the first real smile we've seen in two years." Jaime added. Kellin felt a lump in his throat.
"You caused that Kellin. You're special." Tony whispered.
"Don't fuck this up Quinn!" Mike snapped.
"I don't plan on it. I'm here for the long run." Kellin stated. It was the truth too. Kellin never wanted to leave after getting Vic to smile that wonderful smile. Mike grabbed a fistful of Kellin's shirt bringing him so they were not that far apart. He could smell Mike's minty toothpaste. His gaze was murderous.
"Good cause if you hurt my brother, I'll kill you." With that Mike pushed Kellin away and made his way down the bleachers. Jaime and Tony whispered 'goodbye' as the followed Mike. Kellin smoothed out his shirt.
"What have you gotten me into Oliver?" He whispered into the air. He started making his way through the crowd to his first period. He has that with Vic. He smiled. "Today is going to be a good day."

Two almost kisses. And Vic smiled. Yay! I'm sorry I didn't post this last night, I fell asleep and then had to go to morning classes. Anyways I love you guys. My next update will probably be tomorrow-ish. <3 -Nikkie

P.S. do you guys watch face-off? If so do you love Laney like I do?

P.P.S. I won't be putting the other SWS members into the story just yet. I didn't want to make them out to be jerks so they will most likely come in as Kellin's new friends. I hate making band members mean.
