Android or More?

Ashton Black has always wonder if there was more to David 8 than him being an android. After all though, he understand human emotion yet doesn't feel them himself but Ash feel as though that may be a lie. Though David can't lie, he can manipulate people. So is there more to David or is it all in Ash's head.
