Delaney Rae was a bit of a conundrum for Zachary Merrick.
She came out of no where, crashing into his life and turning it upside down with that sugar-sweet smile and those cowboy boots of hers. She was the prettiest girl he'd ever seen, but she was also incredibly fierce and strong with a determination to make it like he'd never experienced before. Delaney Rae was the kind of girl who could be one of the guys, while still making it impossible not to want her - and Zachary Merrick wanted her.
Which was confusing in itself.
Delaney wasn't his type. She was loud. She was bold. She was like pretty much any other musician he'd met on the road; she drank, she cursed, and she partied.
She wasn't the kind of girl he'd ever bring home to his mother, that much was for sure.
But there was another side to her as well.
A soft, quiet, demure side of herself that could only be found if one looked hard enough. Bits and pieces of a past she refused to talk about would come forth in sudden bouts of nerves and social anxiety.
She was a walking puzzle, and Zack was determined to f igure out every piece.
