Weightless.

Assesment.

He gets to miss school but thats the only good thing about going to see his doctor. His family only visits the doctor when there's something wrong, not for checkups and sore throats like most people. His grandmother has his parents convinced that something is wrong. Even his father is starting to see his "condition" as more than a phase.

"He would've been dead within a few weeks had he kept living this way. Neither of you suspected anything?" The doctor asks, scrutinizing his parents. They both look guilty and she just shakes her head, glancing down at her clipboard.

She wants him to have a psychological evaluation. Eating disorder, anorexia nervosa, malnutrition. The words don't make sense to him. He's heard them before but they still dont make sense. There's nothing wrong with wanting to be thin. And weightless. And beautitul.

Beautiful, he agrees. He decides then that no matter what they say to him he doesn't want to get 'better'. The only thing he wants is to lose a few more pounds and feel light and happy and free.
