Our first kiss was initiated by Jarvis, believe it or not. In the time after we ousted our feelings for each other, I tried to delude myself into thinking that he was more than just a cyborg. It was surprisingly easy, despite the fact that Mom thought I was absolutely crazy for this.
When we told Dad – together, mind you – he didn’t even bat an eyelash. On the other hand, he explained to me that no matter the advancements in technology, Jarvis would always only be a cyborg. It might be easy to forget sometimes, but my relationship was based on a series of circuits, wires and machinery.
So, I might be living a lie. That should bother me, and sometimes when I’m lying in bed alone at night, it does. When I know Jarvis is down in that basement, tweaking and improving himself to make me happy.
Then he comes to me the next morning, all smiles and hope and I know that nothing has ever made more sense than us.
