A day in hell

Day 11

Mom: Clarisse, I' m not going to listen to my daughter, so what time did you two go to bed at?

Me: Mother, you are being cruel. Why don't you believe me?

Mom: I was talking to Clarisse, not you. Clarisse finish please.

Clarisse: We went to bed at nine, the got up at eleven to watch this movie. We wanted every one else to be asleep.

Mom: Oh alright fine.

The parents leave and we just stare at each other like we're stupid. I can't believe what just happened. Clarisse's pale forhead is crumpled in confusion, her blue eyes are confused. I probably look similar. I can feel that my forhead is creasedin confusion. Clarisse starts to giggle. I can't help but giggle to. We look so strange. I'm in silik black boxers and a Death by stereo t-shirt. She's wearing pink pajama shorts and a long Old Navy t-shirt.

My best friend and I are complete opposites.

She's not a goth and I'm not girly.

But somehow we find a way to get along.

Mother is standing in the doorway staring at us like we're insane. She shakes her head and turns away. She's just as confused as I am about our friendship. Mine and Clarisses'. Not mine and my mother's.
