"Hello?"

"Hey Dad. Are you sure mom doesn't know about the wedding?"

"I'm positive."

"Great. Just keep it that way please."

"Yeah no problem."

"Thanks Dad."

"Listen sweetie, you really don't need to worry. Everything will be fine."

"I know, it's just... Dad, I'm pregnant."

The line was quiet for so long I thought he hung up.

"Oh... well, congratulations Hun. Um..."

"Sorry. I know I kind of sprung that on you."

"No, that's fine. Can I have a word with Noah?"

"Um, sure."

I handed the phone to Noah, his cool hands brushing mine for just a second. He gave me a reassuring smile and squeezed my fingers a bit.

"Hi Mr. Phillips. I know. ...Yeah, I didn't know until about a week and some days ago. Thanks. Bye."

He handed the phone back to me.

"Hello?"

"Have I ever told you how much I like that boy?"

He chuckled at his own stupidity, I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.

"No, but I'm glad you do."

"Yes I do. I trust him with you. Unlike that Jesse."

I cringed at his name, but let it slide off my bones.

"I'm really glad dad."

"Yeah. If it was anyone else, you know I would refuse to walk you down the aisle."

"I know dad, I know."

"Just like that evil boy who used you."

"I know dad."

"So anyway... Guess what I saw on TV the other day? This girl... and guess what her name was?"

"What?"

"JEFFREE STAR!"

He laughed so hard, you could almost hear his belly jiggle.

"Dad. Stop. He's a man."

"Oh."

His voice sobered up immediately and I couldn't help but smile myself.

"Wow dad. Sometimes I worry about you."

"Don't worry about me. I've gotten this far in life on the little I have up here in the ol' noggin. I'll be fine."

"Yeah I know. Listen I've got to go p-"

"Plan more fine details. Yeah I know."

"Haha, well bye dad."

"Bye."

"Love you."

But he hung up.

"What was the MAN thing about?" Noah asked.

"Nothing... Just my dad saw Jeffree Star for the first time. That's all."

"Oh, that explains it."

He smiled at me and that's when I realized there was no noise in the house.

"Hey where did everyone go?" I asked, sort of concerned.

"Out..."

He had a devilish grin on his face when he continued with, "How about we pick up where we left off?"

"I'd pick up anywhere, it doesn't matter to me. It'd be even more fun if we started from the beginning again."

I gave him back his grin.
