Raindrops&Sunshowers 2

CHAPTER 2

When I finally got home, I felt bitter and confused. I placed my book bag on the wooden floors of fake wood once I opened the door; my dog had her eyes on me, her tongue sticking out on the side of her mouth happily. I smiled, “Live long and prosper.” My brother said, he leaned on the wall in his navy blue briefs. I just stared at him; I didn’t want to even be at home anymore. “Sucks to your prosper, and put some pants on.” I replied as I walked away, my sister greeting me next. Oh god, “Make me some food Ali.” She said grabbing my shoulders. I need to get to my room, I karate chopped her arm, her screaming in agony as I jolted to the door of my room. My hands locked the door instantly, peace at last.

My eyes went wide when my door got slapped with a fist, “Ali!” My sister groaned. I just shouted lyrics, “Standing on the waters casting your bread.” Jokerman, by Bob Dylan came from my mouth. I heard her get frustrated, a loud thump hitting my door; I couldn’t help but open it. My book bag laid there on the floor, I looked around. “Thanks.” My phone vibrated, I mounted my book bag like it was my prey having trouble following the vibration. A text message obviously. If it wasn’t I would’ve felt like four vibrations due to my phone being on silent.

Kenz:Come over
I sighed dialing the number. Munching hummed on the other side of the line a few rings later, I pulled the phone away as if I was there hearing the loud chewing. “Huh?” A girl said.

“Why do I need to come over? I just got home.” My hands combed through my hair. I would do anything for Myckenzie but my day felt a little rough though.

She laughed a bit, “Shut up you crack whore.” Someone had to be over because I didn’t say much, then again I could be wrong, “Cat face, you got a cat face, you got a body of a cat.”

“You got a head of a cat.” I replied with a giggle. Okay, what did she need? I think she was stalling. She screamed softly, in the phone.

“Come over.” She said casually. I couldn’t and most likely wouldn’t say no, I exhaled in the phone. “Beef.” She said with an “old-man” voice, a dial tone coming afterwards.

I couldn’t help but laugh walking out of my room. I creped from wall to wall, I didn’t want to get ambushed by Sunshine, the friendly dog of mine. My eyes were getting droopy; staying up last night wasn’t a bright thing, knowing I had school the next day. I wake up earlier then anyone in my house, like I wake up at four in the morning due to me standing in front of my closet doors, not knowing what to wear. I hated that when you were a girl, one con on my list.

Sunshine panted, her breathe hot and smelled awful. I walked faster, Lauren, my sister, was anywhere near the dog, at least most of the time. And this time she was, “I’m hungry. Make me taco’s.” I scoffed.
“No habla ingles.” I grabbed the keys to my grandfather’s blue mini van from the early ninety’s; it purred like a beauty when I drove it outside of school. She crossed her arms walking away, such a child. I stuck my tongue out already walking out the door.

My blue mini-van was the van I usually took on road trips to other places in the United States. It was a min-condition but yet I still gushed like a five year old when someone saw my face in it. I love this van, my hand opened the handle, but I guess I was a little embarrassed by it at times. Only when the guy I like in school owns the hottest BMW available. I sucked in my lip at the thought, my grandfather wouldn’t like the fact I was embarrassed to be someone I am. I exhaled sadly, adjusting the car from my dad who rode in it earlier to the grocery store. I was putting the beauty in ignition when a cat of black and white jumped from a tree. I slammed on the breaks not meaning too when the car started to back up out of park, my breathing increased for a minute till I played with the joy stick. I sighed with relieve, Rocko, my cat, sat on the hood till its ears perked up. Scratch marks were left on the hood from her scurrying off hearing a dog not too far. I laughed softly as I back up out of the drive way.

I tapped the steering wheel to the beat of the drums of my lovely music when I excited the neighborhood already tackled a couple of streets; I drive fast. Many would call me weird if they saw me mouth the lyrics, rocking back and forth in the music; heh, I don’t care. In between my legs vibrated, I tingled grabbing the phone. I looked at it, text message.

Kenz:Where are you?
Alison:Bagel.
Kenz:Sausage.

Ah, Myckenzie, Myckenzie. My eyes went up, the tires screeched. My head stuck out of the window, “Oh my God are you o-“, It was that guy again. The words didn’t come out of my mouth but he gave me that long stare walking away, my heart almost lifted till someone honked behind me. Oh God I need to know his name, the car purred when it turned the corner of the stop light.

---------------------------------

Beauty barked insanely from the inside of the garage when I walked up the step to Myckenzie’s front door. A voice came from behind the door, “Who goes there?!” they yelled. Why was Jimmy here? I glared in the other direction, “What the secret code?” he said out to me. I exhaled, why did this have to be the password I thought to myself as I opened my mouth. A low scream came out of my mouth, my neck arched back like an alien, they laughed hard. The door opened though, my cheeks red. Jimmy stroked my cheek, “Honey your Wes probably doesn’t even know you exist, there is no point of being embarrassed.” Sometimes he just didn’t seem right; I ignored his comment shaking m head and walked to Myckenzie’s room.

Pictures, magazine cut-outs, and collages, including the pictures we drew from our early years laced her walls. I smiled, I was reminiscing the times from way back when. She smiled when she walked out of her closet, she changed. She now wore an orange and black tube top with black skinny jeans; probably changed for Jimmy. “Good?” I nodded to her question.

“Why did I need to come over again?” I asked she sort of shrugged meaning no comment really.

Her bed didn’t squeak like mine did when she sat down on it, her eyes staring up at me. “I was just-”, Jimmy walked in, jumping on top of her. I was about to hurl as they rubbed noses all of a sudden. I walked out of the room. Should I tell Myckenzie about that random guy I secretly despise, but have strange little things for? Maybe, but not now at least; she giggled loudly then yelled.

I rubbed my eye; I do not want to her my friend being ravaged. My feet walked into the kitchen softly. I only ate one thing in Myckenzie’s house, and that was those weird orange crackers with peanut butter in the middle. I smiled as I heard the plastic tear open.

“Are you sure Wesley is right for you?” My head turned to see Myckenzie drinking the last bit of her water. She sort of shrugged off my answer before I said anything. “I mean I know you like him but his relationship past is rather bad remember?”

How could I forget? I mean when he dated Kristine, her heart fell. He cheated on her with another girl named Michelle who he also cheated on with Melissa. Her name made me cringe, what was her deal? Then there was Alana, who was the girl of everyone’s dream since she knew how to throw a football, I mean it’s not that hard to be honest. He dumped her because she never wore shorts and skirts, said he wanted some leg and she got appalled when he dumped her for it. He broke girl’s hearts. Even ones who don’t know him but stare and he catches there glance walking up to them and saying they aren’t good enough, for now as he would walk away. I shoved a cracker in my mouth, food left my mouth as I talked

“Yeah I know, I know but I mean he’s… cute.” Why did I like him? Was it for his look only? “And he’s funny and is in pretty good shape…” I tried to think of more.

“See I mean I just don’t think he’s good for you.” Myckenzie said grabbing a cracker from the plastic, she chewed loudly. “I mean-” She chewed more then swallowed grabbing water from the fridge, “You don’t even know him.” So, I mean most girls didn’t but it was okay, why can’t I just do that too?

“Myckenzie thanks for caring about me, honestly you are an amazing friend bu-” She knew what I was about to say, it was so obvious. She opened her mouth but Jimmy’s scream and curse filled the silence.

“Oh my God.” Myckenzie said as she walked over to her room automatically screaming at, I’m assuming Jimmy. “Why the fuck would you throw my Joker out the fucking window?” She yelled aloud, my eyes widen as I laughed, crumbs of orange falling on the ground. I ran to the room, I had to see the scene.

Myckenzie’s cut out of the Dark Knight’s Joker played by Heath Ledger was half way out the window, Jimmy was pulling it back in by the legs. “IT was scaring the shit out of my Kenz! It was chanting about the beast from the sky, saying it had-”

“Don’t pull that crap on me Jimmy. God you’re retarded.” She said laughing softly now helping him. Was that my cue to go? I believe it was, I walked away slowly from the scene. Myckenzie didn’t notice I was leaving and I knew it would upset her but what was my purpose of coming over? Was it to get a talk for liking the boy of my dreams?

Before I knew it I was out and putting my car in gear as I pulled out of her driveway.
