I'm the Rehab, You're the Drugs

You Just Run, Run, Run

Come on let's do this the right way. 'Cause it's over, it's over, and things will never be the same. I tried so hard for years working out my flaws, and now it's over, it's over. I'll think of you when the curtain drops.

And now your friends are enemies...

Jack was the cliche boy in high school that ruined people's lives. Of course, just by a look he seemed like the perfect person to date and be friends with, but appearances were the perfect form of illusion. Jack knew all too well that he was attractive, knew all too well that most of the girls in his school were swooning over him.

And now here he was five years later at the age of 23, still running the reckless lifestyle he has lived for so many years just because of one simple mistake that hit far too close to home for his liking.

You just run, run, run. You just run this to the ground. I'll send this out to you, in hopes that you may drown. You just run, run, run. You've broken what you love.

The young man has had many toys that he's played with, broken, and disposed of, but his new one has caught his attention like no other. His new toy, - later he found out his name was Alex - was a just-turned-twenty-one-and-enjoying-the-bar-scene kind of boy. But, the only reason he was there was because his band was playing, with a decent sized crowd since this was a venue with a bar attached to the side. Jack always liked listening to the music scene here. The boys in the bands were for sure eye candy and he had no problem with looking.

But Jack must have looked too long because when Alex was in the middle of singing a song, his eyes locked with the elders and there they stayed for the majority of the night, along with a few flirtatious looks and winks thrown here and there, Jack knew the boy would become his new toy.

I'll drag this out to you. I'm the rehab, you're the drugs.

It didn't take long at all for Alex to become wrapped around his finger. Jack had a routine with his toys, cut off all relations with his friends, but he never touched the family side because he knew what it felt like to be cut off from your family. Jack actually had a heart even though he specialized in ruining people's lives.

Jack also made said person rely on him only. Having had played his own games with his toy's friends, he knew Alex had nobody to turn to.

Life really fucked Jack up.

Come on, you've got nothing to say. 'Cause it's over, it's over, and things will never be the same. I know that the failure will be a knife. 'Cause it's over, it's over. I won't hesitate to twist it right.

And now your friends are enemies...

Of course, Jack played his role as a boyfriend significantly well. He actually liked Alex and kind of felt bad for the inevitable end for both of them. It was quite sad how much the older male liked his new toy, he almost dropped everything after eight months of dating, just because he liked Alex so much. But after a large debate in his head, he said the risk wasn't worth it.

He didn't want to be hurt again by somebody he could potentially love for eternity and back. After his first slip up, he didn't want to go through that anymore.

You just run, run, run, you just run this to the ground. I'll send this out to you, in hopes that you may drown. You just run, run, run. You've broken what you love.

Every touch and soft brushes of skin between Jack and Alex made the elder feel so alive, it kind of unnerved him because his toys were always the one person he despised most, but with his new one, he felt so connected to him. It angered Jack immensely, everything he's been planning was thrown into the ground because of his feelings. He hated emotions, hell, he hated feeling anything other than hate.

Hate really fueled him in the long run.

But with Alex, it was hard to hate such a precious young boy who has only had a handful of experiences with the world, where as Jack has had many.

I'll drag this out to you. I'm the rehab, you're the drugs.

The process of breaking somebody apart at the seams would seem to be easy, right? Wrong. It was a long, painful process that involved too many mind games, empty promises, and unneeded heartbreak.

But it was all Jack knew, all he could ever know.

Drown, drown, I'm filling up your lungs. Drown, drown, I'm the rehab, you're the drugs. I'm the rehab, you're the drugs.

Once the utter of "I love you." fell from his toy's lips, Jack's mind game really kicked into action. He had to make people fall for him, he had to make them want him oh so very desperately, to the point where they would be nothing without him.

Although, Jack did repeat the words, he couldn't help but think that he actually felt what he said to his toy. He pushed it back into his mind as he conjured up how to really ruin Alex.

Wait, wait.I'll wait for you to fall, your time is running out.Wait, wait. I'll wait for you to stall. For now you scream and shout, and now your friends are enemies.

It really happened when Jack decided to reverse his actions. Instead of loving like he always showed Alex, he showed him the wrong side of him. He always felt like he was crazy, always knew there was something terrible about him, although he never really showed it to anybody, he knew that with the caring way his mind reacted towards Alex, he need to block it out.

Hate was that perfect solution, no matter how much he hated being so cruel to Alex.

Everything was thrown back into Alex's face, no matter how small, Jack would always feel like such shit afterwards, though. Wanting to apologize, curl up with Alex, and just fall in love with the boy. But no, Jack brushed it off and continued to hate himself more and more.

You just run, run, run. You just run this to the ground. I'll send this out to you, in hopes that you may drown!

It took a mere five months later, marking their two year anniversary when Alex really had enough and walked out on Jack. He couldn't help but feel heartbroken, which is the opposite of what he intended, he felt like his heart had a large gaping hole in it.

It's safe to say Jack hated himself.

He knew Alex was young and naive, but he saw the way Alex's eyes lit up when he was around, he watched as Alex admired him oh so very much. Only to be crumpled down after he expressed his deep feelings towards the older. Crumpled down so harshly, no matter what he tried to perfect, in Jack's eyes was wrong, everything was just wrong and the harsh words thrown out there from the one love of his life, were able to make Alex believe every single word he said.

Regret and guilt always resided on Jack's shoulders. Everything he did now was monotonous and meaningless, his whole entire appearance just looked deathly ill. He missed Alex, he couldn't not love Alex.

And once he admitted he needed his other, he would do anything to bring him back.

You just run, run, run. You've broken what you love. I'll drag this out to you, I'm the rehab, you're the drugs.

It did take awhile for Jack to fully register why he just felt so lonely and empty, although the back of his mind kept repeating "It's Alex! You're missing Alex, you twat!" he always ignored it, though.

Up until now.

This was the first time ever he ever really liked somebody. He acted like he did sure, but with Alex it came easy. Throughout their relationship, they seemed like the same person, finishing each other sentences, having the same sense of humor, and just generally liking the same things.

So Jack set onto finding him, he didn't really know where he would be. Maybe with his parents. Jack had memorized the way to Alex's parent's house, he didn't know why, but he did and he was damn glad he did.

Drown, drown, I'm filling up your lungs. Drown, drown, I'm the rehab, you're the drugs. I'm the rehab, you're the drugs.

The grim expression on both of Alex's parents faces proved to Jack that everything was gone.

They told him that Alex was gone, gone forever. In a place Jack never experienced and now has thoughts to.

Alex had committed suicide after trying to piece his life together. He tried contacting everybody he used to know before he met Jack, he tried everything to forget the man he loved. After three months, Alex could barely hold a steady job so he finally ended everything. Just because of a man who lived off of a person's negative emotions, lived off of their love that was never reciprocated.

Up until now of course. Jack knew he loved Alex, but he was too late and he can never redo what he has done. None of his other toy's committed suicide, well, none that he knew of. They just left without a trace. Who knows, maybe they're all dead.

But all Jack cared about was Alex, and now he pulled the man out of his arms. He did this to himself.

And now, he can feel heartache for the first time in 10 years.
