"Bella-Lina!" mother called, "come here, girl!"
I rushed over to mother whom growing up I knew had low patience. I knew not to keep her waiting. Ever. "Yes, mother?" i responded. "I need you to bring this to your Uncle," she handed me a basket with a delicate sheet placed over it. "But don't you dare look in it, y'hear! You'll get in a whole lotta' trouble if you do." "I won't Momma," I promised. I never disobeyed Momma, even if she wasn't there, she knew everything. " Good, now run along girl! He's waiting!" she patted my butt as i started out the door.
"Bella-Lina!" she called after me, "Don't forget your jacket, girl! It's chilly, you'll catch a cold!"
A Scarlet red jacket with a very large hood hung from her right hand. As she helped me put it on I kept my eyes on the basket. "Now run along, you" she put my hood on and kissed my cheek. "Now don't be too long, y'hear?" "Yes, Momma." I skipped away and went down the stairs and out the door, hearing it slam behind me.
