You'll Find Me Under the Stars

Chapter One:: Awake

Late November
I hadn’t slept in what felt like an eternity. My heart cried out for Desiree but she was just out of reach. I had ideas of where she was at but every single one was wrong. Dmitri knew my steps and pulled her away each and every time I came near. I was dying. My heart was breaking and there was not a single fucking thing I could do about it.

Nearly seven months prior: Early June
Desiree

I woke hours after Dmitri had knocked me unconscious. My face throbbed painfully and I was unable to open my left eye. Tears trickled into my hair. I was still lying onto the bed trying to remember what happened.

I had been weak. I remember that. I was weak from the drug both physically and mentally. However, I was stronger in a physical aspect. I began remembering some of my distant thoughts and started to cry harder. What I had been thinking made my heart hurt with guilt and self-pity.

I then recalled the intimacy that happened between Dmitri and I. I rolled onto my side and pulled my knees tight to my body. As I laid in the fetal position, I tried to push the memories of his body on mine out of my head. The pictures mixed sickly between Haden and Dmitri. I couldn’t breathe now as I imagined each moment.

The more I attempted to expel the scenes from my inner vision, the more prominent they became. I cried even harder. Then a certain feel of puzzlement overcame my body. I remembered Dmitri calling me by another name, muttering something in Russian, and then blacking out from him viciously hitting me.

I focused on what Dmitri said. It helped in keeping the horrors at bay.

Who is Andreeva? Is it a love of the past? Someone he longed for? Do I resemble her?

And what did he say after he called me Andreeva?

Curse my illiteracy in foreign languages.

The echo of footsteps jolted me out of my thoughts. They came nearer and nearer. I closed my eyes and attempted to relax my body as if I was sleeping. A door opened and a heavy sigh signaled that someone wasn’t too far away from me.

As you must have realized in the prequel, all Russian is in the 'pronunciation' form. The reason being the Russian alphabet would throw the story off and assumably confuse the reader. :) So, I ask that you trust me when I tell you that the 'translations' I give you are legit.

With that being said, here is the sequel ;) Enjoy!
