Beau was getting tired of this.

She was getting tired of the confusion.

She was getting tired of not knowing.

She was so tired.

Beau didn't like this version of Mulan.

This version of Mulan didn't talk to Beau.

This version of Mulan didn't smile at Beau.

She hated this Mulan.

This Mulan seemed to ignore Beau altogether unless she came inside to hold Beau.

Beau hated this feeling.

She had spent days taking this and Beau knew they were docking tomorrow.

Tonight Beau was ignoring Mulan.

After thinking it over, she decided to get it ready.

Beau went into the pack and took out the bedroll.

She unrolled it and laid down.

The wooden floor was hard on her back.

Beau ignored it and used her arm to lay her head on.

The door opened and Beau closed her eyes.

She heard the boots step closer but walk away to the other side.

It must be Philip.

"You think this is going to work?"

"It's worth trying. I can't take this feeling anymore."

"What feeling? "

"The hurt and confusion. I thought Mulan and I were close but she ignores me until nightfall."

"Mulan does like you. She's just confused to."

Beau didn't say anything else.

She fell asleep.

Mulan sneaked inside.

She saw Beau fast asleep on the floor and Philip wide awake on the bed.

Philip gestured Mulan over and the warrior complied.

"Mulan, what are you thinking? "

"I have no idea what you mean, " Mulan said expressionless.

"You need to think of what you're doing. Do you want Beau? "

Mulan didn't answer.

"You need to make your mind. Your hurting a beautiful lady and yourself."

Mulan's eyes showed her sorrow.

"I will do better, " she near whispered,

Mulan picked up Beau and placed her on the bed.

Then the warrior herself laid on the bedroll.

Mulan tried to think of what she wanted and needed.

Mulan wanted to protect Beau.
Philip did it instead.

Mulan needed to help Beau find her place.
Mulan throught wanted Beau for herself.

Mulan needed to help find the Princess.
She wanted to put Beau over the mission through.

Mulan knew she couldn't win.

It wasn't the first time Mulan put others above herself.

It was the first tine Mulan had to think to do the greater good.
