Save Me

Chapter 7

Beau hated ships.

They rocked and shook.

Her stomach rolled again.

She hated ships.

The door opened.

Beau kept her eyes closed.

She felt someone sit on the cot.

A cool gloved hand touched her heated cheek.

"You lied, "the voice caused Beau to open her eyes.

Mulan sat worried on the cot.

How long had Beau been sick?

How long had Beau hid it from her?

She smiled weakly.

"Hi, Mulan."

Mulan's brow was furrowed in worry.

"Why didn't you tell me?" She insisted.

Beau sighed.

"What could you have done? "

Her stomach lurched again and Beau gagged.

Nothing went into the bucket.

Beau had thrown everything up already.

Mulan couldn't do anything.

She held Beau's hair back.

Beau refused to open her eyes again.

Mulan sat up and left.

When she came back with fresh water, Beau was fast asleep.

Mulan set the water down and shook Beau awake.

The seasick girl groaned.

"Drink this."

Mulan tried to hand Beau the cup of water.

She was too weak to even lift her hand.

Mulan's worry festered.

How long had Beau hid this from her?

Mulan lifted Beau and sat behind her.

"I'll help you."

She tilted Beau's head back and slowly poured the water down Beau's throat.

When the cup was empty, Mulan let Beau fully lean on her.

Beau fell asleep again in minutes.

Mulan leaned her head against Beau's for amoment.

"Get well, " she whispered urgently.

Mulan tightened her hold for asecond and then released.

"Get well."
