The Prince and the Thief

Chapter 13

I brushed a strand of his soft hair behind his ear. Vic. My Vic. I've finally seen him asleep. He usually gets up before I do. We had se- no. We made love and I loved every minute of it. Even the pain. I drew small patterns on his chest, watching the way my skin clashed with his.
"Staring is rude." I heard him mumble. He turned on his side to be able to slowing move his lips against mine. I gasped lightly when he accidentally made me shift on the bed. He pulled away looking frightened. "Did I hurt you?"
"N-no." He slid his arm out from under me and sat up.
"Where does it hurt?" I groaned.
"I'm not hu-"
"Kellin." He did his warning tone. I rolled my eyes.
"It's my lower back." He moved his hand to follow down my spine until I made a little whimper. I closed my eyes as he began to massage the area. The pain started to lessen. "You're too nice to me." He hummed. I circled my arms around his neck.
"Feeling better?"
"Mm-hmm. We should be heading back right?" I opened my eyes and he was searching my face.
"Soon." He got up from the bed and pulled on his pants. He stretched. I watched his muscles flex against his skin. He shot me a weird look. "Why do you keeping staring at me?" I tried to suppress my smile by biting my lip.
"Cause I think you're gorgeous." He laughed. He sat on the edge of the bed and I sat up to lay against his back.
"Are you sure you had never done that before?"
"Why are you saying that?" He moved to wrap his arm around my shoulder.
"You were so calm."
"Really?" I said kind of shocked. "I don't think I've ever been so nervous in my life. I guess I was just so scared that it didn't radiate as fear. Do you regret it?"
"N-no." He chuckled. "I am so in love you." I smiled into the kiss. He suddenly jumped with a clap of his hands. "Time to go. I-I'll leave you to get dressed." He scratched the back of his head and walked out with a blush on his cheeks. After he left, I got out of bed to pull my now dry pants on. I followed where Vic left, finding him holding out my shirt for me. "I think I like you better without a shirt on." I let my eyes travel over his clothed chest.
"The same goes to you." I pulled my shirt over my head, feeling Vic tuck in the sides.
"How are you feeling?"
"Much better." I couldn't actually feel anything. It was just like a few pinches every now and then. I slipped my hand into phishing as he pulled us into a walk. It was so beautiful out this morning. The sun rising over the trees, the black smoke in the distance- "Vic, there's smoke." The man next to me looked up in the sky.
"That's in the direction of the camp." He dropped my hand and I was doing everything to keep up with him as he ran. The doors of the place I called home were blown open as the people inside were fighting. I was frozen to the spot. Those were my father's men fighting against the people who have taken such good care of me.
"Hello Kellin." Someone tightly grabbed my arm and spun me around. I could almost cry at the person in front of me. "My son." I tried pulling out of his grip. "Your mother is in the carriage." I shook my head. This had to be a bad dream.
"Sir?" One of my father's men kicked Vic on the ground in front of us along with Anciano. "This is the elder and the boy that was with your son. The others are being taken to the prisons."
"No! Let me go!" I tried again to break away from my father. He dug my fingernails in my arm.
"You can drop the act Kellin. We've taken the whole camp."
"I don't know what you're taking about. Please father."
"Drop it!" He shoved me to the ground. "The plan is over. You don't need to play these people anymore." I saw the little glint in his eyes that made my confusion disappear. He was doing this to make them hate me. To make Vic believe I was a traitor and that I was lying to them the whole time. Another of my father's men shoved me into one of his carriages but not before I saw the look on Vic's face. He was heartbroken. I hit my fist when the door closed.
"I didn't do it! Vic, please, don't believe him! He's lying! He's the king of lies!" I fell on the middle of the ground between the two seats. I held my face in my hands and began crying uncontrollably. This had to be a nightmare. Everything had been perfect. I felt the horse pull us away from the camp. I was going back to hell. The one place that Vic made me forget about until now. And I feel like I've lost him. After everything.
