James’ POV
I quietly walked into my room room and was surprised to see Bella still awake. She looked up at me and gave me a smile.

“How was your day?” I asked her quietly as I noticed Isaac was asleep next to her.

“I found out I have siblings”

I looked at her, and she gave me a smile.

“You met your dad?” I asked her as I took off my tie.

She shook her head and rubbed Isaac’s back.

“No, Cade he came today. Eric almost kicked his ass”

I nodded and she looked at me.

“I have better news though”

I sat on the bed and she smiled.

“Isaac called me mommy”

I gave her a smile and she looked down at him.

“Let me change and we can cuddle” I told her as I stood up.

She nodded and I walked over to her. I pecked her lips and smiled.

“I missed you” I told her.

“I missed you too”

I kissed her forehead and quickly changed out of my suit. I groaned and lied down on the bed.

“I’m beat” I told her.

She nodded and smiled.

“What time do you have to be in?” I told her.

“Chris changed shifts with me so he could take Jas out, so I have the afternoon shift from 5-10”

I nodded and smiled.

“Well come on let’s sleep” I told her as I managed to get close enough to not squish Isaac.

She gave me a smile and lied down. She shut off the TV and turned to me.

“We’ll get through this Bells” I told her.

James’ POV

I heard the doorbell ring and Bella looked at me.

“Can you answer that?”

I nodded and looked at Isaac who looked at me as well. I laughed as he stuck his tongue out a little. What exactly was Isaac doing? He was playing with his Legos. Not the tiny ones he could put into his mouth but the big ones.

I made my way to the door and opened it. I turned to see this Cade guy looking at me. I raised an eyebrow at him. I knew why he was here but I could mess around with him.

“Uh Bella told me to come here”

I nodded and stepped back.

“Come on in” I said.

He stepped inside and I led him to the kitchen.

“Isaac!”

Isaac ran into the kitchen and Bella handed him his smoothie. He took it and left to the living room.

“Here you go James”

I nodded and pecked her lips as I took it.

“I’ll be in the living room with Isaac” I said.

She nodded and I glared at Cade. I didn’t like him and I wanted to make sure he knew.

“I talked with dad yesterday. I swear I didn’t know he left you”

“I figured”

“You’re adopted then?”

“Yea I got adopted when I was 4”

“So the guy, he’s your brother?”

“Yea”

“And the dude in the living room”

“He’s my boyfriend”

“You had the kid at a pretty young age”

“I did”

I chuckled and began eating my eggs.

“How old is he? What’s his name because I can tell you don’t like me calling him kid”

“He turns 2 on Saturday. His name is Isaac”

“He’s adorable”

“Thanks”

Isaac squealed and took a small sip of his smoothie. I chuckled and turned to the cartoons he was watching. I could hear them talking and I heard Cade laugh.

“So you grew up in LA, went to undergrad in North Dakota, then went to BU for med school?”

“Correct, what about you?”

“I’m at dentist school”

“Smart”

“Yea”

“So is it just you?”

“Nah there’s Xavier who’s 5 years older than you”

I looked up a little and then glanced at Isaac. He handed me his sippie cup and stole a piece of toast. I chuckled as he walked into the kitchen.

“What does he do?”

“Uhh he doesn’t really get along with dad. Dad sent him to boarding school after your mom passed. I thought you got send to boarding school, I guess not since you were a newborn”

“Where does he live?”

“He lives in New York. He’s a civil engineer. Has two little girls and a boy, I talked with him the other day”

I heard Bella laugh and then Isaac ran into the living room.

“James do you want something to drink?”

“Yea, please? Isaac is drinking mine” I said looking at the little boy who was sipping my orange juice.

She walked in and handed me a cup.

“Thanks babe” I said turning to the cartoons.

She patted my forehead and she walked back into the kitchen.

“How long have you and James been dating?”

“Not even a year”

“So he got you pregnant before you dated?”

I laughed and I heard Bella laugh.

“We adopted Isaac, You should know who James is”

“He looks familiar”

I looked at the time and made a face as I finished eating.

“Bells, I’m taking this one with me” I said picking Isaac up.

She turned to me and nodded.

“That was the plan, have fun Isaac”

Isaac squealed when I tickled his sides. I made my way upstairs and changed. I managed to change Isaac into something warm. He whined when I picked up a warm jacket. I managed to brush his teeth then I brushed my own. I cleaned my face and picked him up.

“Go say bye to mommy” I said as we walked down the stairs.

He nodded and I put him down.

“Bye mommy!”

“Bye Isaac”

I heard him give her a kiss and he waved at Cade. I turned to Cade and nodded.

“I’ll be back like at 7, want me to buy some takeout?” I asked Bella as I got Isaac’s sippie cup.

She turned to me

“Yea no nuts because we still don’t know if he’s allergic”

I nodded and looked at Isaac.

“Get your stick” I told him.

He whined and left the kitchen. I turned to Cade and saw he was staring at me.

“You’re dating a penguin?”

“He’s just James here”

I laughed and I leaned down. I pecked her lips.

“I’ll text you then?” I told her.

She nodded and Isaac came back dragging his small duffle bag. Sid had gotten him some hockey gear and well he didn’t like wearing it.

“Your uncle Adam is going to be there” I said.

He smiled and I got his bag.

“Have fun at work!” I said.

“Bye!” I said as I walked to the front door.

My phone rang and I saw it was Oshie.

“Hey man give me a second” I said as I buckled Isaac up.

I put his things in the back seat and I turned on my Bluetooth.

“So are we doing anything when I get to pitt? I want to see my fiancé”

I laughed.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if you’re in the hospital cause well her back is killing her” I said as I turned on the car.

“I heard, I feel like an asshole”

“you aren’t home and well Mel doesn’t mind” I said as I put on my seatbelt.

“I know but still”

I rolled my eyes.

“So the kid turns two on Saturday, what are you going to do?”

“Probably a dinner” I said.

I glanced at Isaac who was looking out the window.

“Your teammates?”

“Some that can come. The young guys would come cause well as Bella said it’s nice eating a homemade meal” I said.

“Yea that’s true”

“Anything interesting thing going on?”

“Uhhh that I know of no” I said.

“Fuck hey I’ll call you later or Ill see you on Saturday”

“Yea man” I said.

“Bye”

I hung up and we got to the consol. I got out of the car to see Sunshine walking over.

“You brought Isaac?”

I nodded and he opened the door.

“Hey little man!”

He got Isaac and I looked at him.

“My wrist won’t fall off. Come on let’s go”

I laughed and followed him.

“I’ll fix him up. You have practice”

I nodded and I made my way into the locker room. Sid looked up at me and gave me a nod.

“Hey man I got a package under your name?”

I turned to Paulie.

“Wow it got here fast” I said as I took the package from him.

“Yea, why did like a scary car come with it?”

I pulled the small box and I heard Olli gasp lightly.

“Dude no way”

I looked at Flower and grinned.

“Yup” I said opening it.

I lifted the ring and I looked at it. It read Bella all over. The ring was hers; well only if she said yes.
