Burning Embers

I was only fifteen years old. I shouldn't be worrying about whether or not there's enough food for my family or if someone I love will be shipped off for slaughter... but in life at District 12 that's all people think about. Parents watch their children stand in crowds, dreading the chance of hearing their child's name called. Brothers and sisters are divided, hoping their siblings aren't called, but praying it isn't them.

The Games change everything.

I was about to find that out better than I ever imagined.
