You would never guess, first looking at Zoey that she comes from a family of creatures that hide in the darkness. She is the girl next door. Of course appearances can be wrong. Zoey is the only human in her family. Her twin brother is a vampire. So why isn't she? No one has the answer.

Now starting a new school, people right away and hate her-but one person. He likes her and he thinks she cute. Why? No one is sure, and that one mean girl that there is in every school, is ready to crush Zoey like a bug. The time to hide the family secrete, is really important-but when it comes to Zoey happiness and safety. Her family will step out of the shadows.
