They Crack Like Words

They Crack Like Words

I closed the door off from the hot weather of Huntington Beach, California, so I could turn on my kitchen light and go over to my cabinet. I opened it up slowly to start ruffling through the things inside. When I didn't find what I was searching for, I turned to another cabinet.

"Oh my God!" I heard someone screech suddenly. "Ahhh!"

"Shut the mother fucking hell up!"

Upon hearing the deep voice that was so familiar to me, I spun around to find no one other than the infamous Zacky Baker coming in through the back door. As he turned to me he smiled sheepishly and adjusted his hat so as to try and hide his flushed cheeks. Water dripped from his toned body when he walked over to me.

"Did I scare you, momma?" he asked me sweetly. I grinned up at him while he wrapped his tattooed arms around my waist. "I'm sorry. It's just that M. and Johnny were fighting over the grill and M. being the big brute that he is pushed Johnny into the pool."

"Oh," I laughed. Zacky's lips curled into a smile and his bright teeth were nearly reflected on his snakebites. His stomach pushed up against my own, seeing as how mine was bulging out from my unborn child, and his eyes glistened mischievously. I couldn't help but reach up to brush some of his wet hair behind his ears. "What's on your mind, love?" I asked quietly.

"You," he breathed out romantically. My heart fluttered at his voice, at his warm breath crawling over my skin, at the way his lips gently brushed mine, and at the way his hands slowly rubbed my lower back.

All I did was close my eyes and smile at his touch.

"What are you doing in here anyways, babe?"

I had lost all my train of thought and now I was forced to scramble for my answer. This was just one of the few things Zacky was able to do to me. When he realized what he had done, he gracefully smiled and brought me closer to him. I felt safe in his warm arms, but slightly wet because Zacky had been in the pool, and couldn't help but to try and engulf him in my own arms. I thought that the way I slid my hands up and around his neck was absolutely nothing compared to the way my boyfriend held me. But obviously Zachary felt different about that because he let out a contented sigh and closed his beautiful green eyes like me.

"Um...Brian wanted somethin'....A Bacardi or Jack, I think. Plus Johnny wanted a Budlight."

When I finished my sentence I found Zacky's eyes open and playful.

"That little hippie," he grinned. "When will he ever learn that he can't get off beer? All that does is make him an irritable piece of shit."

"Mhmm, and the fact that you guys are always mean to him. Do you realize just how many times he's been pushed into the pool, been smacked upside the head, been raped by how many guys? You know John-John doesn't let out his anger, he bottles it up and explodes."

Zacky eyed my while I said all that with a small grin pulling at the corner of his lips. However, he seemed to repress the thought for something he thought a little more important. When I heard it, I realized that the subject was undoubtedly the most important subject in his life.

"Is that the only reason you came in here? Are you sure that you didn't want any company to...pleasure...you?"

"Zachary!" I scolded him, or really, caused him to widen his smile. I tapped his cheek a few times, as if to punish him. When I was finished, he brushed his nose up against mine.

"I'm sorry, mama, it's just that I know how you girls get when you're like this. Your emotions run wild and all you want is someone to make you happy," Zacky explained. He was enjoying this now with the reaction I was giving him. "Christee, I can be that man."

I didn’t even comprehend what he was saying anymore. He was being a pervert, a very disgusting pervert, nonetheless. I didn't want to hear it any more than I had to. Finally I responded to Zacky.

"Is sex always on your mind?" I asked simply.

Zacky found that really funny for he let out some funny sounding snickers and chuckles before kissing my forehead. He didn't pull away to start talking again, though. He merely spoke against my skin.

"Only because you're my girl, Christee. You know how much you appeal to me. I love you so much and I just can't help but want you all the time.

I could tell my cheeks were burning while I tried to hide myself in my boyfriend's chest while he laughed silently. His chest rumbled with warmth. His hands rubbed my sides and stomach.

"I'm sorry, babe. I just love you so much that I have to mess with you. Anyways, if you didn't come in here to do unspeakables, what did you come in here for?"

"To get those drinks, and why don't you get them for me while you're in here?"

"I will," he nodded his head. He put his hand on my lower back so he could lead me through the arched doorway that connected to the kitchen and led to our room of drinks and whatnot for parties. Immediately I spotted the drinks up high and was glad that Zacky was here. If it wasn't for him, I probably wouldn't have been able to get my pregnant self up on the stool to get them. However, Zacky easily reached up to the shelf and grabbed the two bottles.

"Oh, shit," he cursed suddenly. I heard the bottles clink, seen the white object fall to the ground before I snapped my eyes shut, and felt the small rush of wind run past me. There was a small bang, and then all went quiet except for our breathing.

"It's okay, hun, just a photo album. Nobody's going to kill you, you can relax," Zacky laughed.

I slowly opened one eye so I could see Zacky standing there with a perfect smile on his face and a white photo album in his hands. I spotted the picture on the front and couldn't help but gasp. I remembered the photo album from long ago, even though Zacky probably didn't. That was most likely because I was the one who had filled it up. The most Zacky ever did was skim through the pictures.

I gasped and grabbed it from his hands. "Oh, Zachary, look at this!" I hurriedly flipped it open a couple of pages until I came to a certain picture of Zacky standing with me under his arm. He had his tongue against my cheek and I was practically screaming. That was the first time I had ever met Zacky.

"Oh, yeah," Zacky chuckled. "You're first A7X concert, yeah." He looked at it closer. "That was like the first time that we had ever met one another. I thought you were so crazy back then."

We kept looking back at the pictures, at the memories that they brought back, and reminiscing on all the good times. We found photos of us when we first hooked up, some of the tours that we'd been on, us hanging out with the guys, parties, birthdays, and so much more. There was a story to go with each one, and we could remember each and every one of them.

But like all good things in life, we came to the end, and much too soon.

"I'm so happy that we found that," I said. I layed it on the table before leaning up to kiss Zacky. He smiled cutely before passing the drinks into my hands.

"Go ahead and get outside, sexy. I don't want your feet to start hurting," he told me. I was only seven months pregnant, but Zacky was the over-protective boyfriend. "I just have to go get something from upstairs real quick."

"Okay, babe, hurry up."

I walked out back into the heat so I could hand Johnny his Budlight and get in the pool and give Syn his Jack.

"Thanks, pregnant lady," he smiled. He reached over to rub my stomach affectionately. It felt awkward, I thought, when anyone except for Zacky touched my stomach, so I jumped back and glared at him. He gave me a cheeky grin. He knew how I felt about that. "I want it to be born. I wanna know whose eyes it has."

"I want it to be born, but only because I don't want Christee to be irritable."

I turned around to find Jimmy on the other side of the pool resting next to Matt, Val, JB, and our friend Kyle. I couldn't help but flip him the finger, and I'm sure he would have responded had Zacky not called our attention.

"Hey, everyone, listen up. Babe, could you come up here please?"

Bewildered, I made my way up to my boyfriend. There was a huge, no, fucking gigantic grin on his face, bigger than any smile I'd ever seen Zacky give. When I was in front of him, he swiftly took one of my hands in his and started talking.

"Christee, babe...you know how much I love you, right? You know that you're my world, my everything, my life, my universe. And I know I should be scared about what I'm about to do, but being in your presence gives me all the courage in the world. I was going to wait to do this, too. I was going to do this properly with candles and a big and famous restaurant, but looking back at everything made me realize that I can't possibly wait any longer to be with you."

By now my heart was racing. I knew what was going to happen even without it happening, and Zacky lowering himself onto one knee only increased my suspicion. My hand tightened involuntarily on his.

"Christee..." Zacky pulled out a box and slowly opened it to reveal a bright silver diamond ring. "Will you marry me?"

"Oh, Zachary," I gasped out. I pulled him up to me to cover his face with kisses. "Yes! Yes! Yes!"

Zachary let out a loud shout and picked me up in his arms to spin me around while everyone cheered for us. There were congratulations and 'hoorahs!' and who knows what else from the rest of our group.

Suddenly Zacky stopped spinning and I opened my eyes, only to connect with Jimmy's. I could tell that his deep blue eyes were all full of sadness and betrayal. I hadn’t meant to hurt him, but Zacky was my man.

If only Zacky knew whose baby this really was, then maybe he wouldn't be proposing to me.
