Vic stood there silently, and watched as Kellin’s cheeks heated up. The android looked the pale boy with confusion. “W-What did you just do?” He asked, he wasn’t upset with Kellin, only curious.

Kellin bit his lip, and dropped his gaze. He pretended something on the floor was very interesting to look at. He swallowed, and couldn’t help but stutter nervously. “Er..sorry..t-that..was nothing, just forget I did that..” He said, before slipping into his room, and shutting the door in Vic’s face.

Vic sighed heavily, this was second time Kellin had slammed a door in his face. The android decided to give the other boy space, so he headed off to his own room.

Tears were streaming down his cheeks, and he quickly wiped them away with his bony hands. “Why do I always fuck things up?” He sniffled. Kellin cried harder, and thoughts began consuming his mind.

A dark voice had emerged in his head, and he couldn’t ignore it.

You’re ugly.

A faggot and no one likes you.

You deserve to die.

No one would care if you were gone.

Vic wouldn’t care, he thinks you’re disgusting.

You’re nothing but a worthless faggot.

The pale boy lifted his head, and buried his face in his hands. He was convinced that everything he had just thought was true, and no one could convince him otherwise.
He wanted to die, or to at least harm himself. He wanted the pain to go away. He allowed the tears to full from his ducts as he reached under his mattress and pulled out a razor.

He stared at the blade with a dull facial expression before bringing up his sleeve, and slashing his wrist multiple times.

He cried heavily as the cuts bled, and he didn’t bother to clean himself up, he just laid there and allowed himself to fall asleep.

Vic sat up when he heard the front door open downstairs. The android climbed off of his bed, and went down the stairs. He grinned when he saw that Mrs. Quinn was finally home.

“Hello!” He greeted her.

She smiled at him. “Oh hello Vic, where’s Kellin?”

Vic frowned himself, and looked over his shoulder for a moment. “Up in his room, he said he was tired..so he’s sleeping.” The android lied.

She nodded, but didn’t seem convinced. “Did anything happen at school today that upset him?”

Vic shifted on his feet anxiously. It appeared she had seen right through his lie. “No, we just had a lot of homework, so he’s tired.” He lied smoothly.

She nodded, and removed her shoes.

Vic approached her. “Uh, Mrs. Quinn can I ask you a few questions about Kellin?”
Her brow rose, but she nodded anyways. “Sure, what would you like to know?”

“Why do people bully him?”

Mrs. Quinn frowned. She was fully aware that her son was gay, but that didn’t bother her. However, her husband didn’t approve of it, and he had been giving Kellin the cold shoulder ever since he came out about his sexuality.

“Because he’s gay.” She answered simply.

Vic looked confused. “What is gay?”

She snorted, amused by his ignorance. “Well, you know how me and my husband are married?”

Vic nodded.

“That’s called being straight or heterosexual.” She explained. “Kellin is a bit different, he likes boys, not girls..”

Vic cocked his head to the side, thinking about what she was telling him. “So..being gay is a boy liking a boy?”

She nodded again. “Exactly, and some people don’t understand it. It grosses them out, so they pick on him for it. Otherwise, they have no other reason for picking on him.” She said.

“I like him, he’s cool.”

Mrs. Quinn smiled warmly. “I knew you would, he needs someone like you.” She slipped her shoes back on. “I need to head to the grocery store, wanna come with?”

Vic nodded eagerly, and followed her out the door.

Kellin watched as his mother, and Vic left to go to the store. Once the car had gone down the street, he got up, and grabbed a pen, and a pierce of notebook paper. He began writing.

Dear whoever finds this,
I’m sorry. By the time you find this I’ll be dead. I’m done living; I have no reason to live. I know it’s selfish, but it’s what I want. Mom, I love you. Dad, I love you too, I wish you would have accepted me for being who I am. And Vic, thanks for being my friend when I needed one. You’re awesome. And I love you all.

A few tears hit the paper, and were absorbed. He shakily went down the stairs, and left the note on the kitchen counter. They probably wouldn’t find him until later, and he was perfectly fine with that. He wanted his family, and Vic to enjoy their dinner, and time together.

The pale boy snuck into his parent’s bedroom, and grabbed a random bottle of pills. He opened the bottle, and dumped a few in his hand. He didn’t hesitate in downing them each. He quickly moved into his room, and before he could lie down on his bed, he collapsed to the floor.

His vision was growing hazy, and he couldn’t help but smile sadly. He was finally going to be free of the pain.

Free of the bullies.

Free of his father’s judgment.

Free of the hatred the world felt for him.

Minutes passed, and they arrived home. When Vic walked into the house, he immediately noticed the note on the table.

His eyes roamed over the scrawly handwriting, and he panicked. “MRS.QUINN CALL 911! KELLIN’S DONE SOMETHING!”

Her eyes widened in shock, and she did as she was told. She dialed the number, and they picked up.

“We’ll send an ambulance right away mam.”

Vic had dashed up the stairs, and broke down Kellin’s door. He found the pale boy passed out the floor. Astonishingly, he was still alive, but barely.

The android pulled the pale boy into his arms. “Don’t leave me Kells.”
