The Sky Under the Sea
Taking a deep breath, I looked into those beautiful brown eyes I loved so much.
“When I was little, only five or six, I asked my dad what happened to people when they died. He told me that they go to the sky under the sea, and it’s the most beautiful place. Anything and everything you could ever want is there, way down at the bottom of the ocean. He told me that instead of the bright, gold sun that there’s a silver moon that watches over everyone and keeps them safe. I told him that I wanted to live in the sky under the sea because it sounded so wonderful. He laughed and told me that I can only go and live there when they’re ready for me, and when that is, is a mystery. I worried that I would be unprepared for when the time came, and he laughed. He told me that when the time comes, I’d know. And I’d accept it peacefully, knowing that it was meant to be my time.”
