Would You Hold It Against Me?

Tres.

Morning came slowly, I couldn't exactly get to sleep last night so I sat on my bed going through my childhood albums, looking at the pictures of my family all together. Looking at those damn things always made me happy. Halfway through the night my brother came into my room asking me why I wasn't down stairs. I didn't have to say anything, he smelt the other alpha's scent on me and came to sit down beside me. He wrapped me in his arms and rubbed his cheek against mine, a low hum resounding in the back of his throat while he did it.

I fell asleep with him holding me and I woke up to him not being there anymore. I sighed and rolled out of bed, my feet hitting the floor with a thud. I groaned and looked down at myself, making note that I was still in most of the clothes I was wearing yesterday except for my shirt. I kicked off my heels, my pants following quick behind them as I spun around and walked to my ajoined bathroom to take a quick shower.

I got dressed and left my hair naturally wavy, deciding there wasn't anything special going on today. I walked out of my bedroom, fixing my pants so the bottoms were pulled up past my ankles, it was a warm day, I could feel the heat seeping into the house through the open windows.

"Cana..." A girl grimaced, scratching her head as she walked down the hallway towards me.

I stared at her, my brow raised. "Drink to much Luna?" I asked her, smirking.

That was my brothers mate. She didn't exactly want to take up the title of Beta since she was a human just turned wolf ten years ago. In our eyes, she was just a little baby. She whined and nodded her head, crashing into me, resting her head on my shoulder. I wrapped an arm around her and patted her back as I walked with her down stairs and into the kitchen.

"You smell like Liam..." She mused, looking up at me with curious eyes.

"Yeah... Let's not talk about that." I muttered, guiding her to go sit down on one of the many chairs scattered in the kitchen.

She laughed and nodded, leaning back in her chair. I sighed and walked through the cluster of chairs, noting that the kitchen really needed to be cleaned later and I washed my hands and took some food out of the fridge and started to cook for Luna.

"Mm, what's that smell?" My lazy brother asked, sauntering in behind a group of males who probably also came in because of the smell.

"Bacon grilled cheese sandwich for Luna." I said, glancing over at them.

"Make me one..." He cooed, kissing his mate on the cheek before coming to stand behind me to stare at the food cooking in the pan.

I let out a heavy sigh, giving him a defiant look. "If I make you one, I'll have to make everyone else one, and I don't want to do that. Why don't I show you how to cook yourself?" I smirked.

He blinked, brow raising. "Hm, that might actually be a good idea."

"Yeah, see. Then you can know how hard and boring it is to stand here and make food for 30+ people. I don't even know where we get the food from sometimes. Barron's out of town with his mate, so we don't have a proper butcher, so cooking the meat is one hell of a task." I mused, elbowing him in the stomach as I took the sandwich off the pan and put it into a plate.

I danced around him and handed it to Luna, whirling around, pausing to look at the man who just stepped into the kitchen. I gulped down a lump when our eyes met and I forced my eyes to the ground and I walked back to my brother.

"Alright, we've heard you complain, now are you going to teach me how to cook?" He asked, putting his hands on his hips like a female.

I snickered at him and nodded mutely, suddenly unable to find my voice in that moment with the feeling of Liam's eyes boring a hole into my back.

"How was your sleep Alpha Liam?" Luna asked with a smirk.

"Interesting." He cooed, moving to sit down at the table with her.

I blocked their conversation out and started to show my brother how he should go about to cook the bacon and cut the cheese. When that was done, I showed him how to order the sandwiches and then I laughed when he burnt his finger on the edge of the pan.

"It smells nice in here." Liam said, finally catching my attention.

My eyes snapped towards him and I gave him a curt nod. He returned the favour and my brother proceeded to tell him he was cooking for the pack before they would go into war.

"Yeah, I forgot about that... How are your defensive lines holding up? Do you need any help from my pack, I would be glad to send some of my best out to help you." He offered, leaning back into his chair.

I looked over to glance at my brother, seeing the tense look on his face. I knew the whole war thing made him uneasy about anything, but I knew he would make the right choices, and right now that was accepting Liam's help and not being a stubborn little prick.

"That would be great." He finally managed to spit out. "Our defensive lines are very little now, we've lost so many to this stupid war. It's been painful for everybody but we still continue to fight." He said.

I put my hand on his shoulder and looked down at the food. "Shit, dude you're burning it!" I shouted, reaching over to quickly lift the pan off the stove. I flung the burnt sandwich onto the plate with the other sandwich he made and I laughed.

My brother pouted and he crossed his arms over his large chest, glaring at the stove.

"I will send in word right away." Liam said and after he said that, he left the room to go do what he promised I suppose.

I felt a tug in my head telling me I should go follow him and apologize for yesterday, but I fought against it. I had pride and I wasn't going to let an Alpha from a different pack bring it down. I was my fathers daughter for a reason. I refused to believe I felt any kind of pull towards him; I had better things to focus my mind on.
