Would You Hold It Against Me?

Septem.

I woke up to the aroma of a bunch of herbs mixed together burning in the corner of my room. There was something warm curled up to my side and I heard voices talking just outside my door. I slowly sat up, feeling sore from the attack. I yawned and looked down, seeing the little boy lying beside me. I looked around the bedroom, seeing the elder couple sitting together sleeping.

"Mm, you're not supposed to be moving..." The little boy mumbled tiredly, sitting up and rubbing his eyes.

"I'll be fine, go back to bed." I told him gently, putting my hand on his head as he lay back down without argument.

I slid quietly out of bed and left my bedroom, walking slowly down the hallway. Most of my wounds were bandaged up, but the majority of the scratches had healed already and some of the big wounds were scaring pretty perfectly. I knocked on the door to my brother’s office and waited patiently for him to open the door.

The door creaked open and my brother stood there.

"Cana, you should be in bed." He mused, looking me over with a sad look in his eyes.

"How long have I been asleep?" I asked him, trying my best not to look away from him.

If I were him, I'd probably be doing the same thing; beating myself up for not being there.

"Two days." He muttered.

I sighed and wrapped him in a much needed hug. He wrapped his arms around me and buried his head into my shoulder, breathing in my scent.

"If you would have died..." He started, but he stopped.

"I'm not dead yet. That bastard who killed our parents needs to die." I whispered to him.

My brother sucked in a deep breath as he motioned for me to enter his office. I walked in and looked around, it’s only been two days and his office was a mess. Papers were thrown everywhere and books lay torn up on the ground. I bit the inside of my cheek and went to sit down on the couch.

Little pup, are you feeling alright? Liam’s voice echoed in my head.

I could feel a small headache pounding in the back of my head, but I ignored it. Being cut off from the connection for two days did that, it wasn’t anything too out of control.

I will be fine. I answered him.

That’s good. We have things to discuss.

That’s when I cut him out of my connection, looking up at my brother who was leaning against his desk, hand running through his hair.

“Listen, I’ll be fine. Don’t worry about me anymore. I’m awake and well.” I assured him quietly as I got up and went to go check on the family. The aroma of bacon filled my nose almost instantly and instead of going back to my room, I followed the smell to the kitchen where Luna was cooking breakfast and the family sat unharmed at the table with a couple of our pack members checking them out.

“Whats cookin’ good lookin’?” I asked Luna, leaning on the door frame.

She turned and almost threw the spatula half way across the room as she ran to me and tackled me to the floor.

“You idiot! Don’t ever do that to me again!” She screeched, nuzzling the nape of my neck.

My body ached, but I pushed the pain away and wrapped her in a equally bone crushing hug. She huffed and pulled away.

“I’m sorry. I had to.” I snickered.

She shook her head and ran back to the stove as I slowly made my way to the table. The elderly lady watched me with a different look in her eyes, like she was scared of me, but at the same time she was curious.

"I'm sorry." I repeated, looking at the family with my head bowed.

Sorry it took me so long to come out with a new one. D:
It will get interesting later, I promise. This was just filler for what's to come!
