Try for Me.

Make a scene.

I was in that familiar bed again, and the sun shined on me. I must have fallen asleep about thirty minutes ago, at around eleven in the morning. Jace had fallen asleep, and I was watching him most of the night/morning. My arms and body slightly shook, and that kind of worried me.

"Are you awake already?" Jace yawns, sitting up. I stared into his eyes, feeling like a lost child. He narrowed his, and reached out, holding my cheeks. "Are you okay, Vivian? What did you do last night?"

"I don't know," I whisper. He closed his eyes tightly, leaning his forehead against mine.

"Your body is shaking," he points out the obvious. I nod.

"I'll ask them if it's normal," I start to stand.
"Thanks."

"What are you doing?" he asks, staring at me.

"Going home," I mutter.

"I wouldn't, go look in the mirror," he let out a deep breath. Bags under my eyes, and my pupils were dilated, in a weird shape. "You need to go back to sleep, let them adjust."

"Thanks," I sigh, crawling back in his bed. Jace pulled me in his arms, and I heard him sigh.

"Are you trying to teach me a lesson?" He asks, and the silence became awkward. "Because I understand if that's what you're trying to do, Vivi. This is exactly why I couldn't be with someone so young, naïve. I thought you were different."

"You wouldn't want me either way," I let out a deep breath, choking on my own words.

"All this is because of me?" He sighed. "You are ruining your life for me?"

"No," I laugh.
"Not everything is about you."

"What is it about then?" He questions.

"Self discovery," I answer, a crooked smile on my face.
"Now, shh. So I can sleep."

"You're fucked up," he belittled.

"I know."

...

I officially woke up around three in the afternoon, with Jace sitting at the edge of the bed sifting through my phone with a shake of his head.

"What are you doing?" I groan, sitting up.

"They are so lucky that I can't technically be official with you," he comments, his teeth clenching. "By the way, your mom is completely pissed off. Guess you lied to her and your dad?"

"They'll get over it," I scoff, crawling over to him to snatch my phone. My feet were sore, as well as my legs, hell even my jaw hurt to move in certain ways. I felt horrible.

"What happened to you?" He stood up.

"I'm fine, Jace. I am sorry I ended up here," I smirk while standing with my back to him. I knew it was bothering him, and it felt good to get some sort of emotion out of him. Finally something!

"Vivi, please," he begs as I searched for shoes.

"Damn it," I curse. "Well, see you around."

"Vivian!" he grabs my arm, preventing me from leaving.
"I will take you, at least some where closer to wherever you're going."

"Why? You didn't last time," I remind, and he cringed.

"You don't have shoes this time," he points out. I felt a sting in my heart.

"Don't feel petty on me, Jace," I demand shaking my head.
"It's insulting."

"Come on," he grabbed his keys but I shook my head.

"I don't want your ride," I decline.

"I don't care," he retorts.

"Stop it!" I scream as he drug me outside.

"Don't make a scene with my neighbors, Vivian," he growls. I decided to cave and give in, besides he's only doing what I wanted him to do...show he cares.

Tralala, I reread the last chapter with a smile. I am enjoying the direction of this story, and hope you are too...

By the way, what do you think about her desperateness to get Jace to recognize her? Think it's a bit too much? Or is it just an excuse because her life is slowly spiraling down hill, and she wants to FEEL as if she has control? Hmm...Hmm...
