-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Most of my life has been a blur. Yes there were those moments that you'll always remember, no matter how hard you try to forget. But the rest I can't remember no matter how hard I try. Then I met Ryan, he made it pretty easy to remember those moments I'd thought I'd lost. But he's one of those memories that I can't forget no matter how hard I try. The more I think about it the more I'd rather just find him again, not that he'd want me to. But here I am in California doing so anyway, knowing there can only be 2 out comes from my journey.

"Someone sitting here?" a blond boy asked, he had to be about 26

"No." I said in a monotone voice as he sat down. "It's cold." I looked at him, he was bundled up just like I was.

"Yes it is." I said looking at the snow all around, and watching the wind whip it in swirls.

"You don't seem very cold." he said burrowing himself deeper within his scarf

"I'm a vampire." I said still watching the snow

"Hmm." he said thoughtfuly, which made me turn and look at him

"What?" I asked, I was wondering for once what someone else was thinking.

"Well I was wondering if you would bite me so I won't be cold either." he said a grin creeping along his face

"I don't bite strangers." I said a smirk creeping along my face

"I'm Ryan." he said sticking out his gloved hand

"I'm Carol" I said taking his gloved hand into mine.

"So, immortality now? You know since we're not strangers anymore?" he said pointing at his neck

"I'm not really a vampire, I'm just from Pennsylvania." I smiled,

"Well geez, thanks for getting my hopes up." he sighed, making me chuckle I had almost forgotten why I was sitting on the bench in the ice weather. And when my bus came, I was caught staring at Ryan. We ended up going to the same destination, which meant we sat on the bus together as well.

"So what do you for a living besides pretend to be mythical creatures?" he asked unraveling his scarf from around his neck

"I'm a lawyer." I smiled again, I didn't do that often.

"Lunch break?"

"Yeah, my boss says I work too much. Accused me of being anorexic." I laughed

"Wow." he said which made me look at him again.

"Yeah I know,"

"Well, if it's any consolation, you don't look anorexic to me." he smiled.

"Thanks." I grinned this time, now those definitly didn't come too often.
