Highway 20 Ride; Zac Brown Band

“We should be at the arena in a few hours. So latest I should be home is one.” Callie smiled gently as she listened to Jamie, phone cradled between her head and shoulder as she walked into the bedroom. She pulled the covers back and sat down, pulling her socks off and leaving them on the floor by the bed she set the alarm clock.

“Okay.” Was all she said, and she smiled as he chuckled quietly on the other end of the line.

“Well aren't you excited.”

Callie smiled, “you know I am, it's just this bed is very comfortable when I have it all to myself for four days.”

“I bet.”

Dropping onto her back Callie then said, “hurry home. I miss you.”

Callie could practically see the smile on his face as he said, “I'll fly the plane myself if I have to.”

Before she could say anything they were interrupted, Jordie yelling from beside Jamie, “I miss you Callie.”

She burst into laughter the minute he made kissing noises to the phone, she could hear Jamie chuckle and tell him what she thought she heard as 'fuck off' before Jamie said, “sorry.”

Smiling Callie shrugged, “not a big deal, I'm used to it by now you know.”

“That is true.” She couldn't help but smile at this. Her smile however faded slightly as Jamie said, “we're boarding now. I'll see you in a few hours.”

“Have a safe flight.”

“Love you.”

Callie smiled gently, “love you too.”

She hung up the phone and set it on the nightstand before she rolled onto her side, pulling the covers up over herself. She rested her head on the pillow and turned toward the picture on the nightstand, her lips turned up into a smile as she reached forward and pulled it toward her.

It was a picture his sister had taken of them right after Jamie had proposed, he had set it up wanting there to be a perfect picture for them to look back on the exact moment. Callie ran her fingers over the glass before she set it back on the nightstand.

They had gone back to Victoria for Christmas the year previous, and Jamie had dragged her outside Christmas eve to give her one of her gifts early. Callie smiled at the memory, she could remember interrupting him mid speech to tell him to hurry up because she was freezing her ass off, as he hadn't given her the option to put a coat on. His sister had snapped the picture just after she had said yes, and it had ended up in a silver frame on their beside table. Jamie, down on one knee in the snow, bright red ring box in hand, and Callie leaning down to kiss him.

Jamie closed the front door quietly, setting the alarm, before he took his shoes and jacket off and made his way into the bedroom. Callie was curled up on his side of the bed, it almost made him laugh, but he set his bag down quietly, and slipped out of his jeans and t-shirt before he crawled into the bed carefully beside her.

She shifted and turned to him with sleepy eyes, “you're home.”

Jamie smiled, “I'm home.”

“I was trying to stay awake for when you got home.” She said softly, smiling as Jamie chuckled at her and pulled her into him. She rested her head on his bicep, and couldn't help but smile as he leaned down to kiss her softly.

“Go back to sleep.” Jamie said softly, pushing Callie's hair from her face.

He watched as she smiled gently, probably already half asleep as she said, “I love you.”

“I love you too.”

Callie smiled as Jamie laughed at something Kent said, the two were in the living room drinking a beer. She turned her head as she heard someone giggle, and smiled at Cora who, with Dana on her hip, was dragging a rather reluctant Kyle into the kitchen. Callie waved at the six year old boy who was less than impressed that he couldn't hang out with the boys and was stuck in the kitchen with the girls.

He waved back and grumbled, making Callie laugh, Cora simply scolded him. Callie ruffled his hair as she passed him to fill two wine glasses, she then turned to Kyle and handed him a glass of chocolate milk. Callie turned as Jamie called her name, and laughed as he grinned at her. Callie then turned to Cora, taking Dana right from her arms, kissing the small girls cheek, making Dana giggle.

“When are you gonna grace us with Jones-Benn nieces and nephews any time soon?” Cora asked curiously as she watched Callie with her daughter. Callie, being the youngest of four kids had enough experiences with kids for all her sisters to know she would be a great mom. She'd been an aunt since she was 15, and she loved kids. All the Jones girls thought Callie and Jamie would end up having kids when Callie had finally caved and moved to Dallas to be with Jamie when they were 19.

Callie shrugged, “who knows. But my children will not be hyphenated, I'm not even hyphenating my name.” Cora chuckled and both girls looked over as Kelly walked in, joining them in the kitchen. Callie raised her eyebrows at Kelly, “oh look, you're home.”

Kelly rolled her eyes, but smiled, “yeah, yeah.”

“What's his name again? Luke?” Cora asked with a smirk, making Kelly blush.

“Yes, and hey, I'm 23 I don't have to be domesticated yet.” Kelly said, making a point to jokingly glance at Callie.

Callie glared at her, “I am not...okay yeah I totally am.”

“Mom can I please go hang out with dad and uncle Jamie?” Cora sighed as Kyle asked this, and Callie laughed as he added, “girls are so boring.”

“Fine, go. But if you take candy from either of them again you're stuck hanging out with the girls for the rest of family get togethers because I am not dealing with you hyper tonight.” Cora warned him, making Kyle grin, jump off his chair, hug around her legs before he took off into the living room, launching himself between Kent and Jamie.

Callie looked down at her phone on the counter as it beeped, and opened the picture attachment letting out a small squeal. She heard Jamie laugh at her as he walked into the kitchen intent on getting a new beer before going back to the living room. Callie however stopped him shoving her phone in his hands, “Courtney had the baby. Jamie look how cute she is!”

He looked down at her phone and smiled, “yeah she's pretty cute for being all of what a few hours old?”

Cora, poking her head around Jamie to catch a look at her new niece asked, “what'd she name this one?”

“Tia Rose Moretti.” Callie told her, making Cora chuckle.

“Another T name, go figure. She seems to be the only one who carried out that all the same first letter names.” Cora said, making Callie smile and nod. Courtney, being the second oldest of all of them, had two boys, one eight one six, Tommy and Tanner, and now had Tia added to the mix.

“Yeah you shot that one to hell.” Callie joked, making Cora roll her eyes and stick her tongue out.

Core retorted with, “well at least I'm not marrying into all J names. I mean how are you two gonna decide on that huh?”

Jamie grinned, “easy, four kids. Two J names, two C names.”

Callie turned sharply, eyes wide, “four kids?” Jamie shrugged and Callie said, “you only shrug because you don't have to have these children.”

Jamie grinned, wrapping his arms around Callie and pulling her into him tightly, making Cora groan, “it's just like high school. Would you two get a room?”

Callie turned to her sister and smirked, “we have one. Our kitchen.”

“That's disgusting.” Was all Cora said back, making Jamie and Callie laugh.

“Be ready for seven tomorrow.” Jamie said, making Callie raise an eyebrow.

“Why?” She questioned.

“Because I'm taking you on a hot date.”
