She couldn't hear a thing over everyone's screams. The cries of thousands of other girls around her were deafening, the soles of her feet actually being able to feel the vibrations from their noise while her knees buckled from the anticipation.
This had to have been the most incredible moment of Reagon Heck's life.
This just had to be.
Darkness.
The arena's lighting went out.
More sobs and shouts commenced.
Reagon's heart was about ready to jump out of her chest.
A spotlight was cast upon the body of one person onstage.
And she was wrong.
