Just Whisper, I Can Find You in a Crowd

Raegan had a feeling she would probably come to regret agreeing to go see The Maine, but she knew she couldn't back down now that she already promised Kennedy. With a few hours to spare before she had to leave for the venue, Raegan decided to start getting ready. She made her way into the bathroom and started the water in her shower before stepping in and relaxing into the hot water. She took her time showering - not wanting to leave the warmth of the shower - and only got out once the water started to become cold. She wrapped a towel around her and used another towel to dry her hair before making her way down the hallway and into her room to get changed. She pulled on a slightly oversized t-shirt and a pair of skinny jeans as she waited for her hair straightener to heat up and then she ran the straightener through her hair.

Once it was six, Raegan decided to leave so she could make it to the venue before doors opened at seven. She sent a quick text to Kalynn - who still hadn't come home - and told her that Kennedy convinced her to go to the boys' concert; Kalynn quickly replied back, expressing her concern with Raegan seeing her ex - whom she still clearly wasn't over - but nonetheless telling her to have fun. She slipped on her converse before making her way outside; once outside, she hailed a cab and told the driver the address to the venue she was very familiar with.

She texted Kennedy once the venue came into sight, and she thanked the driver after paying him and getting out. The line in front of the venue was large, and Raegan was thoroughly impressed by how popular the boys had become. Kennedy came out a few minutes later smiling at Raegan.

"You actually came," he asked, sounding surprised as he pulled her into a hug.

"Of course I came, Ken; I promised you I would," she answered as he led her through a side entrance. "Do the rest of the guys know I'm here?" she asked quietly as they walked into the open space that would soon be filled with at least a thousand fans. Kennedy shook his head and Raegan let out a sigh of relief; earlier that day, Raegan made the mistake of asking Kennedy how the rest of the guys felt about her and he answered that they were all furious at her for leaving John the way she did. After hearing that, she knew she shouldn't have agreed to come, but Kennedy still managed to convince her - just like he was able to do, he had a way with persuasion that she never understood. She also knew she should probably try to fix everything, but she had no idea how hard that could be.

Kennedy excused himself a few minutes later, saying he had to get backstage. Raegan called after him, telling him good luck, before making her way over to the bar and taking a seat - getting on Twitter from her phone and scrolling through the recent tweets of her friends and celebrities absentmindedly. It took another ten minutes before the doors opened and she let out a sigh of relief as she locked her phone back and put it in her pocket.

Raegan only half-paid attention to the openers while everyone around her sang loudly to their music - she was too preoccupied with the thought of seeing the guys again to pay attention - and if asked, she would probably not be able to tell you who the openers were, not because she didn't recognize them, but because she was so lost in her own thoughts. Once The Maine was about to go on, though, Raegan began to get nervous and fidget. They finally got on stage and it took all of Raegan's control to not roll her eyes at the countless teenaged girls screaming about how much they loved one of the guys and how they wanted to fuck a certain band member. She was in the middle of the crowd, and she looked over each of the guys without worrying about any of them spotting her.

Raegan recognized all the songs they were playing, but unlike everyone around her, she wasn't singing along to the songs but instead intently watching the five guys she once called her best friends. Kennedy spotted her at one point in the crowd and he grinned at her, which she instantly returned. Raegan didn't realize, though, that she was gradually being pushed closer to the barricade until she felt it against her ribcage. She let out a gasp - her eyes wide open in surprise - as she mentally cursed at herself for not realizing sooner that she was being moved.

John was in the middle of the chorus for Listen To Your Heart - the song actually written for her - when he finally spotted her, his face a mix of sadness and anger when he recognized her. Raegan shot him a timid smile, but he turned away from her.

The moment the concert ended, Raegan was shoving through the masses of people waiting around to meet the band or get merch. She hated that she allowed Kennedy to convince her to come in the first place, and she just wanted to get out of there as fast as possible. She was standing on the sidewalk in front of the venue waiting for a cab when she felt her phone vibrate in her pocket. She let out a sigh as she unlocked the screen to read Kennedy's text: John wants to talk. Can you please come backstage? He isn't going to leave me alone until you do.

Knowing that Kennedy wasn't joking and that John seriously wouldn't stop bothering him - and as a result, her - Raegan let out a sigh and reluctantly replied: Fine, but meet me at the side door or I won't be allowed backstage. Once the message sent, she trudged back towards the venue and met a frustrated Kennedy. "I'm sorry, Rae. It didn't take long for him to figure out that I already knew you were here."

Raegan shrugged as Kennedy led her backstage where the guys all were. "Its fine, Ken. Its best that I talk to him anyways and explain why I left." Saying it was simple, but Raegan knew actually talking to him would be a whole lot harder.

When they got backstage, Raegan tried ignoring the disgusted looks she was receiving from the rest of the guys - minus John - as Kennedy wrapped an arm around her shoulders and muttered that everything would be okay into her ear. She tried to not let the looks Garrett, Pat, and Jared were giving her bother her, but when she noticed the pissed and betrayed looks they were shooting at Kennedy once they realized that Kennedy had been talking to her again despite what she did to their best friend, she couldn't help but feel guilt - after all, if any of the guys started fighting with Kennedy over this, it would be all her fault regardless of what Kennedy told her. She couldn't help but feel like she was ruining friendships that were meant to last forever and breaking hearts - only caring about herself.

God, why was she such a fuckup and selfish bitch? Why couldn't she just enjoy what she had and not wish for any more?

I feel like these are getting shorter and crappier, but I have a lot on my mind and I've been stuck in my house for 10 days because of the weather and I'm feeling stir crazy.
I have so much planned in my head, but I just can't seem to get the words down on to paper and its starting to make me mad, but I'm going to try to work on this more.
