I Guess I'll Never Get To Call You Mine

ALINE

I hitched my bound feet up and gave a firm square-footed kick to Leonard’s ugly face. He unfortunately happened to topple over Jeff, who kicked him back towards me in return. I swiftly shoved him so hard toward a bunch of big containers that he passed out.
“Nice one,” Jeff grinned. Laurence ignored him. “You guys never told me about this!” I noted that she sounded more surprised than hurt and tried my best to look apologetic. I could feel my cheeks growing hot though. “Does anyone else know?” Laurence asked me, forgetting the fact that I’m gagged so therefore I can’t talk. “How come he gets to know?” she demanded. I glared at Jeff, who was looking pretty sheepish now. “Um, I don’t think anyone else knows,” he said meekly. “I, uh, found out unintentionally.”
I groaned inwardly. Jeff always had to open his big mouth during the worst possible situations. For one thing, it did nothing to calm Laurence’s nerves. I totally understand her, but I know reassurance attempts would be no good. It’s better we get out of here ASAP before Butch comes before we sort out this mess. I made a mental note to passport slap Jeff after this is all over (FYI, getting hit by passports really do hurt).
