The Girl Who Stayed

He flew into my life with a whirlwind of adventure. He was the boy who promised me that I would never have to grow up. He gave me everything I could dream of until one day he left. He flew away, back to the world with grown ups and rules. A world that he had spent many years hiding from. He said it was love that anchored, so I vowed to never fall in love. I stayed behind to fight the pirates and other dangers that threaten our way of life. Me and my lost children. Until one day, I go to visit my old friend and find something I didn't expect.
