Can You Fix the Broken?

Ch 13

Waking up the next morning was definitely different for both boys. For Jack, he felt more comfortable. Looking over at the sleeping boy next to him he finally felt accepted. He bared his soul and for once in a really long time he felt okay. He wasn't ready to walk around in his underwear or sing out loud in front of him though. No, it was that simple comfort that you get when you know that you've found that one person that you can sit in silence with and it wouldn't be awkward.

As Alex slowly started to gain consciousness he had a bitter-sweet taste on his tongue. He slowly opened his eyes and snuck a peek at the boy beside him. Jack was awake and obviously lost in thought. Alex couldn't help but smile. He felt good knowing that Jack trusted him with this piece of himself. The piece that he never told anyone, that he barely even admitted to himself.

He reached out and stroked Jack's cheek to gain his attention. Jack looked over and smiled before leaning down, kissing him sweetly. Alex hummed in pleasure before lacing his hands around his neck and pulling him closer. The need for oxygen was getting kind of important so Jack pulled back.

"Good morning to you too." Jack mumbled nuzzling Alex's hair.

Alex stretched out across Jack's body grabbing his phone from the dresser beside them. He pressed the home button and looked at the time and then groaned.

Jack chuckled, "What's the matter Lex?"

"It's 9 in the morning on a Sunday! Why are either of us awake?"

Jack just rubbed the other boy's arms. "You can go back to sleep."

Jack started to get up but Alex grabbed his wrist. "I cant sleep without you here!"

He looked back at the other boy in his covers with puppy eyes and a pout. Jack couldn't help but smile at how innocent he looked. Before he could think it through he blurted the thought running through his head. "You are really cute."

Alex smirked, "Was that a compliment Mr. Barakat?"

Jack blinked and blushed. "Maybe."

The other boy opened his arms and made grabby hands at the raven-haired man. Jack took his hand and intertwined their fingers. Alex sighed.

"What's wrong Alex?"

Alex looked over at him. He shook his head, "I just want to cuddle." He added a pout at the end.

After everything they have been through in the few days, Jack figured the boy deserved a break. Even though Alex knew the deepest parts of him, Jack still couldn't shake this dirty feeling. He had to get clean, he hoped his boyfriend would understand.

"We can....after I shower." Jack braced himself for questions and jokes but they never came. Alex simply nodded. Jack watched the other boy in stunned silence before getting up and grabbing his towel along with a change of clothes.

He jumped in the shower and did his usual routine. He emerged from a room of steam feeling better, eagerly jumping on his bed to cuddle in next to the half asleep boy. He wrapped his arm around the other's waist and threaded his leg between Alex's, nuzzling his face into the boy's neck.

Alex smiled and pulled the boy closer. "What's gotten into you?"

Jack kissed his neck before answering, "I just want you to know how much I appreciate last night."

The caramel-haired boy gave him a squeeze. "All I want is for you to be comfortable with me."

Jack pulled back, staring into his eyes. "Alex can I ask you something?"

Alex kissed his nose in encouragement. "Why did you bother with me? Like honestly?"

Alex didn't even hesitate. "I saw something in you. Don't ask me what because I don't know. I just met you and when I saw those eyes of yours I was like 'damn I need to know him.' Then you didn't say much but I still felt drawn to you. It was like a moth to a flame and honestly? It was probably my best decision I've made in my 16 short years of life."

Jack smiled against his skin. He peppered his neck with kisses causing Alex to giggle. "Alex how could you know I was the best decision? We've only known each other for like 4 days."

Alex just looked at him, eyes brimming with adoration, "But it feels like forever."

Jack rolled away and sighed. Alex didn't know the half of Jack yet and he was already this attached? The younger shook his head. He wasn't sure he could let himself fall in love after the last time he allowed himself to love. As he glanced Alex's way he saw that it was too late to back out now.

"So what do you wanna do today Jack?" Alex questioned.

Jack sat up. "I have homework to do...."

"Oh.." Jack could just hear the pout in Alex's voice. He turned so he was sitting cross-legged beside the other boy.

"You're welcome to hang out but I'll be pretty boring."

Alex smiled. "Its fine. I just like being with you."

Jack blushed and got out of bed. He stretched, cracking his back in many places. he let out a contented sigh before walking to his desk and grabbing his notes. He opened his trig book and started to work.

Alex just watched the other work. He admired the way his tongue poked out when he came across a difficult problem and the cute way he would mess up his hair as he ran his fingers through it. Alex kept his eyes trained on him and every cute movement he made.

After about an hour Alex got up from his place on the bed and walked over to Jack. He placed his hands gently on each shoulder and felt his boyfriend tense up. He leant down and whispered in his ear.

"Its okay baby. It's just me. I got bored." Alex finished his statement by licking the shell of his ear.

Jack groaned. "Lexxxxxx. I have to finish this."

Alex sat on the edge of the desk and crossed his arms across his chest. "How much longer?"

Jack shrugged not taking his eyes off his worksheet. After a few more minutes he threw his pencil down and looked up at the boy fiddling with his phone. He nudged Alex to gain his attention.

"Lets go watch a movie."

Alex jumped off the desk. "Can I pick the movie?"

Jack nodded and led the way out the door. They got to the living room and Alex ran over to the DVD case, running his fingers along the spine in search of a good movie. His fingers landed on one and he tapped Jack o the back and handed it to him so he could put it in the player.

"Really Lex? What a Girl Wants?"

Alex giggled. "Its funny!"

Jack just shook his head and put it in. Alex flopped horizontally across the couch. Jack stood up and waked over, looking down at the boy. "Where am I supposed to sit?"

Alex patted the space in front of him. Jack hesitated. He bit his lip and kept repeating to himself that Alex wouldn't hurt him. He would stop if Jack asked him to. He was safe. With that in mind he gently laid down.

Alex wrapped an arm around his waist and cuddled up behind him. Jack smiled and pressed play.

That was how they stayed for the remainder of their weekend.
