At the end of the 2013-2014 season, Ben Eager is thirty years old. He's also a free agent after his contract with Edmonton ends. He looks at his family and makes a decision. He retires from hockey.
Notes: I don't own anything you recognize as real, thanks. This can also be considered an canon-divergence AU since I'm 99.9% sure Ben will still being playing hockey next season, somewhere. And wow, I was way overdue in writing more Ben and Evelyn, let alone contributing to the (sadly so much smaller) hockey community on here. While this can be read without reading the first three installments, this obviously follows Make It Back to Me but jumps ahead to present day, as Ben wraps up his stint with Edmonton/Oklahoma City.
